This album is like my little secret. Nobody really knows about it, but I think it's one of the greatest things in existence and listen to it constantly.
7 years later, still an end to end sound track of my life, existential banter in poetry with synth music and pop hooks this world gave me. i strkfk with this
Back in the day 2016 I was graduated from highschool and started the university. I got a car and this album was my only disc on the reproducer. 6 months ago I crashed, cougth on fire and my album died. Glad Im still alive and went to your show at mexico City two months ago✨
Gets better the more I listen. So pleased I made it to their show at the Regency in SF with my lover earlier this summer. Strolling back to the Marker to spend the night with her is a lifetime highlight. Cancer is killing me, but my love is strong . Music is magic.
Universal Light and Cosmic flow, Express your Creativity, Love ❤️ LIFE! , My sincere Condolences for any One who suffered Cancer; l lost Aunt And grandma to cancer.
Both are great! I find I can express more with a guitar (I know that's because I'm not the best at bass) but playing Bass feels like I've tapped into the rhythm of life! Feels like I've found that perfect flow! I can't help but get this huge stupid grin and just bob away! :D
According to Thomas Metzinger, no such things as selves exist in the world: nobody ever had or was a self. All that exists are phenomenal selves, as they appear in conscious experience. The phenomenal self, however, is not a thing but an ongoing process; it is the content of a "transparent self-model." In Being No One, Metzinger, a German philosopher, draws strongly on neuroscientific research to present a representationalist and functional analysis of what a consciously experienced first-person perspective actually is. Building a bridge between the humanities and the empirical sciences of the mind, he develops new conceptual toolkits and metaphors; uses case studies of unusual states of mind such as agnosia, neglect, blindsight, and hallucinations; and offers new sets of multilevel constraints for the concept of consciousness. Metzinger's central question is: How exactly does strong, consciously experienced subjectivity emerge out of objective events in the natural world? His epistemic goal is to determine whether conscious experience, in particular the experience of being someone that results from the emergence of a phenomenal self, can be analyzed on subpersonal levels of description. He also asks if and how our Cartesian intuitions that subjective experiences as such can never be reductively explained are themselves ultimately rooted in the deeper representational structure of our conscious minds.
Ahh man i love these guys! Listening to this album again after a relatively long time brings a smile to my face and brings back some good memories of cruising down the road during hot summer nights with this blasting on my stereo. This continues to be one of my favorite albums ever.
I have been a big fan of the band since around 2009 and it has been incredible to see their style evolve over the years. This new album is a bold step in a new direction, I for one love the shift to these more peppy dance infused beats. I cannot get enough of "Open Your Eyes".
H.I. McDunnough yeah, I think that's when I started getting into them as well. Around 08-09. I think I first heard Pop Song and that's what got my hooked.
Open Your Eyes is definitely my favorite off the new album. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how the album turned out. Got into them just last spring, and have enjoyed just about all their work since!
I completely agree. I think that some of their songs and performances from previous albums tended to drag a bit, rhythmically. But with this new line-up and material, the band has managed to revamp things for the better. The interplay of the vocals with the bass lines and percussion creates a better balance and tension.
Played my favorite STRFKR tracks during a road trip with a woman I was dating. She thought they were trash. No surprise her and I didn't date for very long 😅
I've been listening to this band for almost a decade and I love how they're still producing amazing music. I listen to this album during my exams to reduce my test anxiety.
This album is like crack: -I repeatedly use it -I go into withdrawal if I don't experience it every two days or so - I love it -It makes my father disappointed in me.
your music always brings out so much emotion in me. it's a treat every time. no matter what mood im in this vibes with it. true talent, thanks for all the jams.
Can't wait to see them in march for the 3rd time. Crazy how much they have progressed. Amazing vibes from this album. Miracle mile surprised me with how good it was. Now I'm really impressed.
Jan It's me Jorn not really. I'm sure those things you might call funk are actually disco. give me timecode in the video and I'll tell you if it's funk inspired or not. It matters cuz you might actually like disco. nothing wrong with liking funk tho. ps not tryna get into a TH-cam comment argument. Just making sure the facts are straight.
Listen also to Washed out if you guys like this, similar vibes. Songs like Amor fati, feel it all around, hold on, before & straightback are all awesome, just to name a few.
Altogether I think this is a much more pop-style album, but the unique strfkr sounds and composition are still hitting hard, and these new punchy bass lines are really fun to listen to
This album is like my little secret. Nobody really knows about it, but I think it's one of the greatest things in existence and listen to it constantly.
Same here 😊
i like to fold it up like a little piece of paper and put it in my chest pocket for safe keeping. some things just don’t add up
This on some stuff, whewwwwwwww

Indeed
Every time I put on this album, it plays all the way through at least twice.
My life is so complete right now!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
Hearing new music is like doing a drug for the first time with your Eardrums.

Have a +1 for your most excellent taste in music and The Thing user picture

Dude, that's so good, that make me feel something I can't explain
This album is like crack:
-I repeatedly use it
-I go into withdrawal if I don't experience it every two days or so
- I love it
-It makes my father disappointed in me.
Peace to the poet
I showed this to my dad, and he said he thought it was good
Really. The father? Lame-osauce
Anchor bay
My dad absolutely hates the name of this band. Thinks it "immature." I think its a cooler name with an even cooler meaning behind it.
This album is so solid.

Yes, and even further--A talk by Ajahn Brahm is the namesake for the album, is also a philosopher/monk that is influencing the west.
