I remember playing this at a mates house on his C64 console and I was stunned. This being one of the 1st cartridge games i played i loved the load speeds what a world of difference it was from on my cassette games, just plug it in and go!
Well, FINALLY a racing game on the C64 where the programmers (wisely) removed the horizontal banding on the lower part of the screen, for "illusion of speed" purposes.
I only played this in the arcade but this version looks pretty good, smooth scrolling and a good sense of speed. Your'e right about the music though it just doesn't fit the game at all.
The memories!! Remember borrowing this from a mate as a kid. Not sure I ever completed it, but I definitely remember getting to the last stage with the plants on the road. Technically, really quite impressive for the c64, but that music is awful and so out of place. Great game though.
Thrashed this as a youngster, i always used to struggle with the Porsche takedown, but once I cracked it I beat the game shortly after, always found using the boost as little as possible would almost Always mean you could takedown each level in the first time window. Even as a kid I thought her sprite was fuck ugly....nearly 27 years later and my opinions still unchanged
Jesus Dem feels. I spent hours playing this. First cartridge game I owned.
Nice one, mate. Funny how they didn't draw the hero with the girl at the end. I guess he took one look and hit the road again.
Haha!
I hope you enjoy my channel enough to

Sadly with a cart you couldn't cheat with an Action Replay if you couldn't get passed the later levels :-(

Those bars were just agony on the eyes, also used in Outrun on C64, this however is very familiar with Turbo Outrun also on C64,...looks far better.
We need a remake of this!
Fresh music for starters during in-game!
Nah, I'm a sucker for SID music. But a graphics overhaul would be nice!
But this in-game music is boring, it needs a more down moody beat.
Outrun Europa with guns ;)

Yes the music just doesn't go with the game at all, too joyful for the story plot :-/
Stefano Pavone lol no, 1 was awful on the 64, how they managed to downgrade 2 on the zx and amstrad I dont know but they are both garbage.

❤
Better than the first part.
Totally!!!
To be fair though, the first game hardly set the bar very high!

Yep as I said myself in the description,...one ugly duckling for sure!
really could have done without the 3 min intro
