This is the most honest interview of a celebrity I have seen in a while! Of course she’s rich and in a different stratosphere. But god her honesty is not pretentious!
Streisand doesn’t give many interviews, but she’s always very honest in her responses. And she has always told the interviewer when they’re crossing the line. I recall Barbara Walters grilling Streisand years ago about the Clintons - she felt Walters had gone out of bounds, and said, “Uh, this isn’t good,” and told her she would not discuss the Clintons publicly.
I love Barbra Streisand. She is the most iconic, gifted and talented singer, actress, songwriter, concert and movie producer, concert and movie director, filmmaker and an author. She is a legendary and a truly DIVA.😍
Barbra Streisand's voice is truly like no other... so incredible to listen to her in the 1976 film A Star is Born, and 1968s Funny Girl (and LPs). She has so much talent coupled with intellingence and compassion; an incredible woman we are so fortunate to know through her works, interviews, and now this book. ❤
LOVING this interview! Still watching the segments and can't wait to hear the rest. Can't think of a better person to interview Barbra! Thank you Stephen!
Stephen is a fantastic comedian. He has already earned legendary status in that regard. He is now well onto the second page of his resume, a legendary interviewer.
She was a good sport. Enjoyed the whole (3) interviews. I have always loved her so much as a performer. I am very impressed by her genuine humor and ability to conduct this interview as classy as she is❤❤❤❤❤
Colbert is superb here; in fact, has anyone else ever interviewed Streisand with this oddly contradictory blend of irreverence and respect? He is so skilled at managing the informality, the disarming conversational dynamic rather than simply firing questions. A great hour.
I wish I could keep watching this conversation.... I also wish this conversation was more real like when Stephen talked to Anderson Cooper about losing loved ones... That was so raw.... And I keep watching it...
Love Babs, ever since I saw What’s Up Doc in the theater as a boy. My mother tossed some dying roses into the toilet in our guest bedroom as she was tidying up for visitors, and they went on and on about how “classy” it was that she floated rose petals in the john. 😆
I was there the hot summer night James and Barbra met! What Jim might not know but Barbra was well aware of is that we had a power outage while the dinner party was in full swing. As assistant to the hostess I was in the kitchen with the rest of the staff celebrating the successful commencement of the festivities with multiple flutes of fine champagne when half the house went dark including the kitchen where the chef had 30 chicken breasts on the hot grill. Because the smoke extractor hood also lost power the kitchen began to fill with smoke and we were in danger of the smoke alarms interrupting the fabulous soiree on the patio. Luckily the handyman who had set up all the extra twinkle lights, and who was now snockered on bubbly, was still on site. While he was sweating bullets frantically trying to jerry-rig the electrical system Barbra came up from the darkened kids room to find the chef cooking with a flashlight in his mouth and the rest of us furiously fanning the smoke out the windows with fashion magazines. I wish I could remember what she said but I recall it was funny and we all busted up. Then she went out to the still twinkling patio and fell in love with the dreamy Mr. Brolin. The night's mission accomplished:)
OMG that's a great story! I wonder why Barbra omits it from her story of the evening? Well I'm reading her memoir now so maybe she will get into it there ( I hope). She's very funny!
Dear Barbara the saying goes you could always tell a person by the way they treat animals and by the way you treat your dogs well that speaks volumes bless you
Barbra is the only artist ever who has received the Directors Guild of America, Academy Award, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts, and Peabody awards, as well as France's Légion d'Honneur and the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award
Fantastic Interview of the Legend that is Barbra. She is my biggest Actress influence. It’s my dream to work with her on a film. Thank you for this, Stephen and crew - it was beyond wonderful!
Barbra Streisand is a veryyy 🌟 bright star shez safe wonderful carefree careening n honest ; We need to clone her (kidding) becaz we definitely can’t clone souls ; But we needed Barbra now days she helps us take our minds on her journey of her life I’m honored n very happy to buy her book n see her on the diff shows talking n being honest ; A very classy beautiful women Goddess 🙌🙌🙌👌👌👌🫠🫠🌟🌟🌟💕💕
Actors have to have a "look at me" itch in them but are also insecure and need to have their ego reassured. I think she can't articulate that push/pull but she alludes to it in her book.
Barbra ~ I love you and have for decades. But it was horrible to publicly humiliate your costar ~ throwing this iconically talented and most importantly married man under the bus.
I love Colbert, every word he says on the Ed Sullivan stage is so right on. But I am disappointed in his choices when interviewing Streisand, for every obvious reason.
She's an amazing talent and she did break down walls for women directors but something still rubs me the wrong way.I was really turned off by the "I'm taking you home" anecdote. Don't get me wrong, a woman can go home with a man on the first date if she wants but the way that was worded reeked of ownership and denying a woman autonomy over her own body. If he had said "I want to take you home" or just "Come home with me" and she had agreed it would be different. If he had said "I'm taking you home" and she had responded "No, I am choosing to go home with you" it would have been OK with me. What really bugs me is that after talking about being an independent woman in control of her life and career, she seems to find a man saying this somehow attractive while it just gives me the ick, as the kids say.
Since spell broke up, they waver. Don't mock so much! They were so freaky trying to resemble me, now they struggle to find a new identity, at least which is not so weird. 😅
"You cannot clone a soul." ...and so there will only ever be just one Barbra! ❤❤❤❤❤
so much for "Beam me up Scotty." and other SCI-FI illusions. Thanks Babs!
She looks so relaxed compared ro other interviews...snd it seems so honest. Well done Steven
This is the most honest interview of a celebrity I have seen in a while! Of course she’s rich and in a different stratosphere. But god her honesty is not pretentious!
B.S.
@@hithere1590 Then why did you bother to watch this?
What happened to her Nose? It's obviously Different.
I got the vibe she a sad and lonely person.
She looks so different. Did she have cosmetic surgery?
What a wonderful interview..I love Barbra Streisand..She's an incredible lady ..so smart so talented. I could listen to her all day.
Honest. Measured. Real.
She is perfect here. She has arrived at her true self. Funny, down to earth, reflective. Love you Barbra.

Not anymore! She Sings & sounds old and hoarse.
Thank you so much Steven what a beautiful interview!!! She is a beautiful soul and woman ❤
What a wonderful partnership and marriage - Barbra and James Brolin.
I've always admired Brolin as a great guy.
Omg seriously? He isn't funny at sll. He thinks he is.
I love Barbra! I could listen to her all day!❤
This is the best interview of Barbra ever. Funny, candid ~ very real and relaxed.
She was a good sport. Enjoyed the whole (3) interviews. I have always loved her so much as a performer. I am very impressed by her genuine humor and ability to conduct this interview as classy as she is❤❤❤❤❤
Love Barbra Striesand she is so talented singing and acting...and such a dear dear person
Your feelings are very real, Barbra. I love you now more than ever. Is that possible? ❤️✨😌
Colbert is superb here; in fact, has anyone else ever interviewed Streisand with this oddly contradictory blend of irreverence and respect? He is so skilled at managing the informality, the disarming conversational dynamic rather than simply firing questions. A great hour.
Barbra is truly keeping it real, keep up the struggle, B.
You'll get there one day.
Ah so refreshing ❤❤❤Love Barbara Streisand. She is so natural.
The great genius of Colbert, is, you have to let him do his thing. He’s just that funny.
We love barbara streisand and stephen colbert
Her honesty is refreshing and I LOVED the sign she made in reference to Elon Musk 😄
Right? Her reaction to musk's name tells some things about her values and beliefs.
I just bought Barbras book,I can't wait to read it. I also got her CD
"Evergreens". I love her acting and her music. God Bless you Barbra. 🙏💗🤗
I wish I could keep watching this conversation.... I also wish this conversation was more real like when Stephen talked to Anderson

I’m LOVIN’ this interview!❤❤❤
The greatest talent of all time❤
I love everything about Barbra..I dont want her to ever leave us..
I love Barbara she's the best!
Thank you, Jimmy, for numbering multiple episodes
Aaaw love her to bits! ❤
Love Babs, ever since I saw What’s Up Doc in the theater as a boy.

Wow, thank you for such a great inside story! What great fortune for you to have been there on such a fortuitous night! ❤
Wow❣️ you’re so lucky! Thanks for sharing, do you remember anything else from that night.
OMG that's a great story! I wonder why Barbra omits it from her story of the evening? Well I'm reading her memoir now so maybe she will get into it there ( I hope). She's very funny!
He did all that on their very first date?
Dear Barbara the saying goes you could always tell a person by the way they treat animals and by the way you treat your dogs well that speaks volumes bless you
Her name is Barbra
U know people are hungry no food bills stop this unnecessary crap of how I write ✍️ her name because now it is so vain
Barbra is the only artist ever who has received the Directors Guild of America, Academy Award, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts, and Peabody awards, as well as France's Légion d'Honneur and the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award
You write this in each comments section of this interview. Or maybe all comments sections.😅
I love her authenticity ❤
An amazing woman who deserves so much
I love Barbra❤❤❤❤
Love you Babs!❤
Best part!! When she made the cross to shoooo away Elon😂😂😂😂 I love her so much!!❤😂😂
What a beautiful woman, through and through!
Oh Barbra! My kind of girl! That cross with your fingers PERFECTLY expresses my feelings about the musk kid...
Fantastic Interview of the Legend that is Barbra. She is my biggest Actress influence. It’s my dream to work with her on a film. Thank you for this, Stephen and crew - it was beyond wonderful!
BARBRA ❤❤❤❤❤
Fabulous ! You made me care about your show again !
Beautiful interview❣️thank you!
Barbara, you are Classic and ageless. 🤗
I love Streisand 🥰
She’s very smart. I’m sorry this interview wasn’t longer.
The way these interviews are shown on You Tube is so underwhelming.
Can’t we get the freaking full interview in one video???
Right? Or at least have them titled better, there are 6 clips, and only 3 of them show the "Part X" the rest get cut off.
@@Wesmin exactly! Such a pity! Don’t they know fans will wanna watch the whole thing?
Maybe when the series of interviews is complete, there will be a playlist.
Barbra's reaction to the mention of "Elon Musk" -- real honesty. She knows that she speaks for millions of us.
Great interview and glad to see she is still very alert and in good spirits!
(Edit: Stephen is pretty funny too!)
How does one be so normal, and so famous, at the Same time?!
Yes! What a lovely and unstaged interview!
Are my eyes lying to me? They actually numbered the videos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 instead of having us bounce around trying to guess which one was next.
If I had been in the studio audience I would have been pissed that I waited so long only to have to watch a video interview.
funny interview...funny girl
Gold
Oh I like this movie shes a very lovely lady I think it's a very good one to know about for my eyes and ears and heart 🙂
She's so real. Such a bubba.
❤❤❤❤
I'm getting a Jennifer Coolidge vibe here. Amazing to hear her thoughts.
Her Elon Musk reaction was priceless. 😂
Thank goodness, he let her talk. Hallelujah
I can not say anything about her , she just love❤
Barbara's reaction to Elon is the right one, in my book! 💙💙
That was so great. Still chuckling at the Elon Musk ending. In love with her all over again.
So appropriate. A truly honest reaction.
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow. Love Streisand.. the gays loved her
That’s hilarious I remember the National Inquirer back in the days with the rose 🌹 pedal story - I think it was in the 70’s though 🤔
omg so deep...now wonder where this unique voice comes from.
As a Christian, I pray Jesus says to Barbara, “I’m taking you home!” 😊 I absolutely Love Barbara!! ❤
❤❤❤❤❤🌹
La Streisand deserved a better interviewer. He thinks he's precious.
0:38 "Is it hard for you to take compliments?'
I can say, it comes too easily and often.
It lost meaning a long time ago.
How does she look so good?
lmaooo i love her
She doesnt like Elon?? Shocking! My dad used to say I can listen to her sing all day but thats about it....he was right.
Why would anybody like Musk? He's a horrible character.
Wonderful entertainer!!
My old dog used to put dandelion flower heads in the toilet all the time. He'd a liked her.
Cool
Learn Hollywood's secret hand sigils to ward off Elon Musk! 6:44
My babysitter. Fellow Vanderveer girl.
You were not a real movie start , you were a REAL ACTOR
Shes one of the few who hasnt had 'work' done to her face - its so good just to revognise the person as they are - yes, older, but just themselves. 😊
Actors have to have a "look at me" itch in them but are also insecure and need to have their ego reassured. I think she can't articulate that push/pull but she alludes to it in her book.
great snippet! luv, love, LOVE Ms. Streisand throwing up the cross at the mention of Elon Musk...
Good morning stephen colbert fans
Good morning 🌼
Great to see Barbs is still suffering from TDS😂😂😂😂 TRUMP 2024!!!
she can act humble. She has been a diva.
Oh, you know her? You've worked with her? People who have worked with her always say how down to earth she is, how not a diva she is.
Barbra ~ I love you and have for decades. But it was horrible to publicly humiliate your costar ~ throwing this iconically talented and most importantly married man under the bus.

This sounds me as if you imitate someone and mock them. If you didn't forget crying and sending heart , it'd be better. 😅
Since spell broke up, they waver. Don't mock so much! They were so freaky trying to resemble me, now they struggle to find a new identity, at least which is not so weird. 😅
Barbra Streisand is always insisting on having petals in her toilets 😂😂😂😂 oh come on 😂
Barbara please take me with you 😊
I require rose petals in my toilet for freshness at all times
I think only Whitney Houston could match up with the voice of Barbra Streisand at her prime in 60’s
Maybe - also when Whitney was in her prime. She had a great voice, but could never "act" songs/lyrics the way Streisand did.
