Overall its a great update, but my only problem is that you have to craft a new piece of armor everytime it breaks
We need fo4 robot repair kits
@MPIYP this is my major complaint too, also the fact that it’s SUPER expensive when you get to the max armor type
Ah balls, I thought that was some kind of glitch.
Yeah, that's the only issue that I've run into so far as well. But, it's a major issue. Probably the easiest fix that I can think of would be to have armor repairable with the repair kits a certain number of times. Basically, if the bot is downed it takes 1 kit to bring it back online and another repair the armor. But, the armor can only be repaired, say 3 times or whatever. So, the armor isn't a complete waste of time and resources as it is now, but there is still a need to craft.
Or just increase the health of it by... 25 times. At least. On Guerrilla the resources would be better spent by just dropping them on the ground. At least then we can save ourselves the trip back to the safehouse.
Just wish my companion would stop lauching me in to space or booting rivals body's of the map before getting a chance to loot them 🤣

I was using the shotgun at first but changed out to the rocket launcher. I find the rocket is more effective for large groups because of the splash damage. The rocket is definitely my go to because i find that the only machines it has a hard time hitting with it is the lynx but it wipes everything else and i found it to be quite accurate.
Rocket Launcher is also great for base assaults. It pretty much melts those walls

Yeah, I'm with you guys, the Rocket Launcher is high risk, high reward. My Rocket Doggo saved me from an apocalypse Hunter with a rocket up the ass last night. Was gonna switch, then that happened and u was like hmm might keep rockets..
I have found the rocket has a much higher chance to stagger enemies as well. Buying you a precious second here and there.
the main problem is the rarity of woods to craft armor (it was one kind of abundant resource in the past)
Recycle flares. I rarely use flares, so I just recycle all that I find, and the give like one or two wood each. I have like 3500 wood.

I don't know if it had it back then, but there's more variations of Armour that don't use wood, the bullet(ballistic) armor uses lead and rubber
One other advantage of the rocket launcher I've noticed is that it can momentarily stun machines if it scores a hit buying valuable time to get to cover.
i like the rocket launcher in combat against tanks because of the soul fact tht as u saw the staggering tht the missile is doing helps because ofc in an actual situation ur companion isn’t the only thing tht is fighting the tank it’s u and maybe other friends
Personally my favourite is the rocket launcher because the rocket can one shot runners and can kill a lot of runners if the explosion is 5 to 10 meters near
the original hit but the down side is its accuracy as you say but the Fire birds are extremely easy to take down because of there 90% hack success rate
the ufo has 90% hack success rate???
OK in my opinion, I like the rocket launcher better than the SMG. because if your Doggo shoots at a runner and they’re all grouped up, you can absolutely destroy them with one rocket so in that argument, you’re technically doing more damage

It helps a lot . And it's not situational . It's more reliable because even if it shoots one robot. It disables some parts and especially when you go against a small army when going after a fnix tank
That only works for prototype and maybe military runners. I have consistently seen finx and above survive atleast one rocket once atleast always and 3 at worst.
I like the SMG because it’s great at chipping down hunters. The rocket is more practical in something like base assault where you’ve got tons of enemies grouped up, and you don’t have to worry about accidentally blowing up a chain reaction of cars and fuel tanks that will kill you.
I'm so glad you haven't stopped on gz because I had no idea there was a new update especially a companion update so you basically got me back into the game and I thank you for your nonstop content keep on keeping on
Is this companion update a paid dlc or free update if own the game?
Not sure which dlc to purchase while first starting out
Glitch ive found, dont let your companion pinch you between a wall, cause whem it moves itll sometimes launch you into the air

Would be great if you could load him with special ammo like the base defense turret. Would allow more option.

One thing that should be mentioned is that RPG creates explosions... That you are not in control of. If you ever put RPG on your doggo be mindful of that fact. Taking cover behind cars with your companion shooting rockets does not a happy camper make.

They should add more weapons in the DLC or in a new one
yeah I'm actually surprised we haven't gotten more weapons for the companion yet
I looked over and MacCready was using a flamer. Tried to change it back but apparently the flamer is his weapon of choice now? Lol, I didn't even realize companions picked up weapons on their own
Against one target. Shotgun and Smg.
But depending on the situation. For base defenses. Shotgun. Its very effective against any small to mid size machine. Does some serious damage and usually knocks out another dog in 1 to 2 shots (if its tank blows up even better). SMG is good for an all rounder mid to long range. Against a swarm its better it stays its distance to avoid critical hits. (Especially Soviets). Its actually very effective against the firebird since it mostly attacks you instead of the runner.
Rocket launcher is best for swarms as well. But i wish a slight buff to fire rate though. Its very slow and if he gets hit it may mess with his targeting.

I really wish the doggo was more like a hunter pet in wow. Where it can be micro managed etc
I got picked to do a feedback interview for the devs and I said all that.
I had my doggo save me when a tank was about to spray me when I was out in the open, but the doggo stunned it with the rocket launcher
Has anyone else been running out of steel to make repair kits and armor for your doggo? It would be great if tenebris made a vid on how to get steel reliably
Used to be some on all dead dogs, but it's changed to lead! There's always a choke point on resources and it's steel now! Used to be wood, until they put it in flares. Worth farming the gas bottles at the industrial facility - there are sixty gas bottles in the warehouses, and they also give accelerant, which has also diminished!
Destroy hunters and seekers, recycle gas tanks and AP ammo.
@@FoxMulder78 AP used to give copper, but now it doesn't. It always changes and there are always choke points.
I use the rog when hunting tanks and harvesters but fir everything else i equip the smg
I went with the rocket. Since i notice it does stun machines from time to time which help and it does AoE dmg as well. And usually im fighting harvesters and tanks. And occasionally 1 rocket can easily kill a group of runners. Now where i noticed it did very well was durring Fnix base assault. The rockest splash dmg helping out in breaking the walls saving you ammo.
My only issue is that...crafting armor each time it breaks... It drains resources like no one business... I got to the point where i just dont bother with crafting armor. Also another thing which i thought could be helpful depending on the weapon you give it would have been nice to give the companion ammo like if using SMG giving it explosive rounds or using rocket giving it EMP.
Also not sure if im right or not, but i think the blast skill the one that boost aoe dmg and rocket dmg works on the companion. Are you able to confirm it? Since the spotting skill works.
It might, I was missing out for the longest time on Explosives Expert Level 2; now the RLG-7 rocket launcher doesn't suck for base assaults, and I think it even makes the explosive flechette pellets from the 12G Pump Action shotgun better!
How you get your binoculars to show the percentages? Mine only pops up randomly and mostly only for runners
Or maybe a 50 Cal sniper rifle or machine gun which would be standalone 20 dollar dlc

They should add a feature to the doggo so it has a custom weapon slot but you have to supply the ammo for it

they should add mods for companion weapons to make them better like larger mag for the smg, a choke for the shotgun, higher rate of fire and travel speed for the rockets.
I figured this was the case. Also i was worried my doggo might kill me with a missile launcher.

each player can have 1 runner. me and my nephew plays together and has one each
note: other player's runner can run and hit you on motorcycle and destroy it

Couple questions. Can you equip runners with special ammo types? And then do they have unlimited special ammo like Fallout?
No - you just get basic ammo of the type you've chosen, but he never runs out...
I have had fun with the dogo but i was fighting two tanks and my dogo killed the tank while i wasn't looking and i couldn't for the life of me find its corpse. I know what you're thinking ... how the hell do you lose a tank corpse but it had just vanished, i spent about 15 minutes looking around the area and couldn't see it. So now i have just been using my dogo as a storage chest. The dogo only weighs 1.00 even when its got a full inventory so i have filled him up with ammo and deploy him if i need more. Its not bad, 1.00 weight for about 4k rounds of ammo. Not sure exactly how much ammo you can fit on him but its around 4k or something like that.
I think it's cuz normal runners can ragdoll robo corpses with ease so I imagine our companion can do the same.

Is the doggo a companion you find in game or is it only available via paid DLC.
About to get into this game for first time but there’s so many dlc, I don’t know what’s what?
On Wider note: are the DLC weapon and tactical equipment ONLY available pay for them via DLC or are there lesser variants found for free in game?
you find your pet in the game with a quest. DLC gives more functions to it I guess.
I have only been playing with the rocket launcher on my companion and I think she's landing a lot of shorts even against those flying enemies, like she literally killed one of them when I was hiding delta the final blow
yeah it's sucks when she misses but here's my counterpoint.
first one if she hits? she will stun the enemies and weaker enemies will die to one rocket hit or two
and second reason the rocket launcher is super reliable I play with the playstyle of running around and then shooting with my sniper rifle then running around and in the meantime my dogo is Finishing the enemy after I have removed their armor with my rifle I think me and my dog is doing a very good job
I do want to now try out the SMG because in my head it has to be as weak As the enemies but maybe it is better? I haven't tried it at all
I did try out the shotgun and yeah it will make the dog go super close but the AI with missile launchers themselves or even the Machine Gun sometime misses because she's So Close they shoot above her and that seems pretty good
but if there's too many enemies? I think it's super weak shotgun because she kind of focus on one enemy and if she tries to shoot at an enemy from far away? it will deal no damage, so the shotgun seems better if you fast at killing enemies even at large groups
im waiting for a Basic Weapons Mount.. So i can attach my Experiemental guns .

Apparently the concussion, but you have to buy the DLC to fit it.

An assault rifle/LMG variant of the smg would be nice.
How about a Lynx burst rifle?

@@BloodMoonVA I know that, nut they're cut off a little before the stock, so I just call it a Lynx burst rifle, cause it ain't the same as the AK-74, AK-4, and AK-5 we have access to

Hey geoff, in order to repair your companion you just need a repair kit in your inventory, then interact with your companion and you should see the option in the list :)

Expect tactical equipment is a dlc, not actually in the game. It’s an add on.

Well, there is a DLC, like on the motorbikes. You get the basic, but the DLC will enhance. I didn't on the motos and I shan't on this. I've bought the Soviet weapons and the base pack...

I don't mind. I bought it for, what €24, and I have spent perhaps €15 on DLCs. Every other game on my wishlist is $60!! So I have spent €40 and had over 1500 hours of entertainment. Hey, dude, live a little, eh?
