I was so amazed to see how well Abbie handled going into a place that is new to her and then just walking around like she had been there a million times. Then she amazed me some more by helping to carry items to the cart by herself and not getting stressed or trying to escape! Yes, I know she did escape in the parking lot but, hey, that doesn't undo what she had already accomplished. She has come so far!!
@@AutismRockzFamily I’m an adult and there’s times I want to do that. Shopping isn’t my idea of fun and really busy shops 🤦🏼♀️I have to have some time after to balance myself after.
Abi has come so so far, thanks to u as parents. fighting for her education and her rights, then not just leaving it all up to the school. she is doing so good BECAUSE of yall. bc she has such a great dad, mom and brother. everything yall do makes a difference in her. taking the time to teach her in everyday situations, situations in which it would be easier to just do it yourselves. times when you're tired and would rather just rest, u take the time to do the RIGHT thing for Abigail. Parenting right is the most difficult job in the world, put autism or disabilities on top of that and you've got to become a superhero. Which is what you both are, superhero's in Autism!!
And I LOVE OUR KIDDO'S SMILES!!!!!! NOTHING BETTER!!!!!!! THANK YOU PARENTS AND STAFF WHO WORK WITH THIS POPULATION OF PEOPLE!!!!!!!! THEIR SUCCESS DEPENDS ON US WHO LOVE WHAT THEY DO AND OUR KIDDOS!!!!!!!!
Abigail....she makes my heart just soar watching her work so stinking hard!! And not only that, but she’s doing so well! I’m a caregiver, specifically for adults and kids with developmental and behavioral disabilities. I love this channel, I feel like it absolutely makes me better at my job.
You might remember me from two weeks ago. I love your family & wish I could hug Abbie. I've been hospitalized for nearly two weeks. I'm still in the hospital (transfer from other hospital) & FINALLY got Internet so now I can watch you again!! I missed your family for those two weeks!!!! I'm in good care but am a bit frustrated with this sudden condition that hit me. Watching your family will perk me up. THANK YOU!!!
She's coming along so well! I can see she really listens now when people are talking, she reacts to peoples expressions appropriately and in class I was impressed how she sat for story time and even though she looked unimpressed with the flash light task, she still did it! So good!!!
You have an amazing, amazing young lady.. I don’t get to watch your channel too often, but it’s great how much she’s growing and learning. I am lucky enough to actually work with adults with ASD daily. You have one brilliant young lady here. Great Job!
Abbie you absolutely did a GREAT job in school and in the grocery store! Just awesome! I was calling my husband over and showing him how well you were doing, Abbie! We were grinning and saying, "Great job, Abbie!" the whole vlog! I know Abbie eloped in the parking lot, but one tiny glitch in her day sure doesn't take away the joy and pride we all feel for Abbie in how far she has come! Asa and Priscilla, thank you for sharing all this with us! Thank you for letting us celebrate with you and with Abbie! I am so excited that Priscilla hit 20,000 subscribers on P,P and P! Congratulations! Love you Maass family!😊💖
I would love to see a video on what Abbie has improved on since starting her current school! I want to know how far she has come and where she is currently so I can celebrate her victories right alongside you! And she did so well today! Happy to see her excited to go to school and doing so well in the store!
No matter what video I watch by you guys, old or new, you guys are an amazing family. Such a sweet family. Abby is so lucky to have you guys as parents. You inspire me every day to be a better parent.
I'm 100% one of the folks who LIKES a video before it plays through. It was awesome seeing Abbie kick butt helping with the grocery shopping and handing the clerk at the exit her receipt and signing "Thank You".
Elopement scares the snookers outta me! One of my students eloped from his backyard many years ago, wondered onto train tracks and didn’t know what to do when the train came. Just a week ago a child in a school system one district over eloped and drowned in a small pond. So many of our kids hide or run faster when they hear their name called. I don’t know if this will be helpful to anyone else or not, but I teach my students the Where Are You Game. It works like this: When they hear their name, they should respond with “Here I am!” If they are verbal or by clapping if they are not yet verbal. I teach those kiddos clapping because few kids elope with their devices. We practice this in the room, on the playground, anywhere. When they respond, and adult happily says, “Oh! There you are! I wanted to give you (favorite edible reinforcer). We we play this game with decreasing prompts and alternating lower and higher value reinforcers. We have different folks call them too. If they get lost, will they remember? I don’t know, but I want to know they have a chance.
Wow! This is a great Idea.My non verbal brother with autism does this sometimes, we have had a few close calls, though not often it is always a scary experience. We should try this with him!
It's terrible what has happened to some elopers, but that is an awesome skill you are teaching them. I'm going to have some special needs students this year for Science (high school, so the lovely teen years). I might have to pinch that idea if I have any elopers!
There was actually an eloper in my neighbourhood, the thing is we live next to train tracks. Unfortunately disaster struck and the train hit them. It goes to show how careful you have to be.
You guys are the best family on YT. Way to go shopping in a new place Abbie! Asa you really are father of the year. Priscilla, you’re the sweetest mom ever! I just love you guys!! 💕
You guys are amazing parents. Abbie you did so amazing! It’s amazing to see the progress from her having a meltdown before you go in and to see her go in and do so good. I love you guys so much. Also I been here since the very first vlog ❤️ and also I have made a couple recipes from her videos! Good job guys!
This video made me happy cry!!! Abbie is so amazing. She did awesome at Sam’s Club. I have been so overwhelmed there that I just rarely go. She is a Rockstar!!!
My son is 6 and autistic, I've just recently found your page and started watching these videos, and he must have heard Abbie, but now he is obsessed lol He keeps asking for videos and getting very close to the screen when she comes on, I love it!

I love how you guys make the best of everything all the time. In so glad I found this channel. My oldest has some problems that I'm handling alone right now and you guys have helped me so much to learn patience with her and her little sister. Thank you!
I have been watching your videos and it helps me parent in a better way with my son while we wait for his appointment for him to be assessed for autism. I have learned a lot being a young mother and not having any background or knowledge about it. My son deals with a ton of outbursts randomly but also when upset or excited. He hasn’t learned to communicate his needs or wants yet so he screams when he wants or needs something but I get a ton of great parenting techniques from your videos. Keep being a great father and family!
Seeing those teachers help abby and show her is beautiful in Kansas city our special education children are treated like animals and they deserve so much better they deserve one on one so they can at least thrive in society as they are how you're teaching abby by having her do things she doesnt like simply bc that's life no matter who u are pure beautiful
I know we see Abbie doing ABA therapy at home but it’s so interesting to see what she does at school when family aren’t around! She did so well at the store too ❤️
Way to kill it Abbie! You did way better at Costco than I did last week. That place was so loud and crowded that I almost had a meltdown. You rock lady!
Good job Abbie! She’s getting so good with her shopping and personal skills and she’s also got much more communicative just since I’ve started watching 7 months ago
That's so exciting to see the progress!! I find this so interesting.......to hear & see exactly how people with autism learn progressively!! Thank you for taking the time, Asa!

I LOVE love that you care for the sound and how we hear your vlogs! THANKS!!!! I know youtubers that have million subscribers and it seems like every video sound worse than the one before...
I am so VERY proud of Abbie!!!! She shops like a boss. I'm not even going to mention the elopement. We have to take the good with the bad will ALL of our kids regardless of them being on the spectrum or not. I remember when I first started watching you guys, she never could have done what she did today. She has come so far! That's because she has amazing Parents and great therapists and a wonderful bff in Summer. This young lady is so blessed! How could she NOT make it? I would have loved to have seen the parking lot footage though. I know you were just worried about Abbie, nut now that it's over and everything is okay, you gotta admit that had to be funny to watch. I try really hard to find the humor in even the worst life throws at me though because it makes it easier to cope with. I love you guys. Give that beautiful young lady a hug for me.
it was so nice to see what a day in the life for Abbie is like at school, I’ve always wondered what that’s typically like for her! ☺️ and I feel second-hand proudness every time I get to catch up on the vlogs (a second year university student’s workload can be unforgiving) and see Abbie progress from the last time I saw her. Sending love to a family that makes me laugh and remember that there’s always a reason to smile ☺️
You are awesome parents!!! Kids still try you at times. ❤😊 you two are very inspirational. You keep her doing things and keep her on track. My 10 year is learning responsibility because I watch Abby and thought my daughter can started doing more. I make her clean her lunch box out now and back pack put her things away. Before I was killing myself doing everything. You videos have made me realize my daughter needs to learn responsibility. Thank you for sharing Abby with us.❤❤❤

Seeing the thumbnail I first thought Abbie had decided to run off with a box of chocolates (which is something I have to force myself not to do every single day -I really like my chocolate). This was such a lovely video. Super happy so early in the morning and it was amazing being able to see what she does at school.
Awesome video. Tks so much for sharing. You two are fantastic parents and just makes me feel like not only did i learn something, but got the giggles and can't help but smile🕊🙏

I have a granddaughter (with Aspergers?) that also bolts like Abbie does. Scary!! (Repetitively)I have explained to her how and why it scares me. Now at 13 she’s doing much better. She also screams but not around me because I told her (repeatedly) it really hurts my ears. She has finally learned to go into her room when shes having a “melt down” That’s a big step. I understand how the trip into the store without disruption was major. We still have times that my granddaughter has sensory overload in stores. Love your videos on Abbie’s progress. Love to you all. Thanks👍
Love looking back at these videos. You can see how much she's grown and how great she's doing.
Abbie’s got the cutest dimples and smiles!

I am so proud at how well she did in the store and helping out. So sorry she ran away in the parking lot.

Thanks👍
