I just found your channel last week and been watching non stop. I am a single mom going threw the journey myself. My youngest was diagnosed last month as high functioning and he is 7 y/o. I are still waiting to get my oldest tested also since he has more characteristics. Since Abby is nonverbal have you ever thought about putting a camera in her room so you can hear and see her.

I just found you guys and I'm totally in love with your family. Probably because you are so real. I did a lot of behavioral analysis work before I became a mom. It makes me so happy to see such a warm, compassionate real family helping their child. My story is far less interesting. We adopted a crack addicted baby at birth. They basically handed her to us and wished us luck. She's an amazing 11 year old now with the slightest signs of ADHD. I'm so grateful for my girl and I hope I'm loving her half as well as you love Abigail.

It's good to know that you two can have a argument or say things that you don't mean then later apologize and hug each other. I see the love between all of you and it is awesome. I do not have a child with austism, I do take care of my 89 year old mother who has the onset of dementia. She can get verbally angry for no reason at me at times but the thing I see you two with Abbie is the patience you have. I try to be patient as well with mom but some days I want to throw in the towel. We don't though. We carry on and continue to do the best we can. I have no help at all with my mom so what keeps me going is God and my love for her. I see how much you love Abbie and that is inspirational to me. Thank you so much for your videos.

We have latches at the top of the doors to keep children out of areas we don't want them to be. Much easier to handle the kids when 2/3rds of the house can be selectively closed off.

I am new to you and the vlogging..trying to power watch the new and old videos. I know from recent ones you guys are so tight and so great on the communication skills. This video shows the depth of that heart to heart connection it is taking to do what you do. I ,,yes,,cried. Having two failed marriages, long stories..the first was a pastor..and I played the role of ministers wife...so you can understand that the pretense of what you two are really sharing was there. The reality was I married a sociopath. I applaud you on your dedication to your children and to your continued work on yourselves and your marriage. You are indeed great role models for many. To say I love you would be a bit out there, but yah...I can see real love in your lives, and I love that and therefore your family. Some can only aspire to what you are achieving. The knowledge for those dealing with this difficulty in their lives is priceless. The last video I watched was of Isaiah receiving his grad gifts ...so deserving and the gift giving to you all shows that their are really great people in the world and that in itself is inspiiring. New Sub here...WOOTWOOT! In my opinion you seem to be genuine, caring parents of 2 great kiddos. I was a live in care giver for a teenage girl who was not autistic but at 6 months stopped breathing (SIDS) and revived with low brain function. After my 2 years with her, she was talking (I could understand her), enrolled in public school (special needs class), dress herself, learned about hygiene, went to several outside of school therapy classes and just really became a more happy, active girl and for that I felt rewarded. I can see such similarities with your beautiful daughter. I just wish the mother of the girl I took care of had began all the things I mentioned above at a much younger age. She missed out on a good 11 years of her grandmother doing everything for her and stayed inside in front of a TV for all those years. When I first started with her she even had a fear of just going outside. Unfortunately they moved back to CA and I lost contact. Heather would be 25 years old now. One thing her mother said in the very beginning of me living with them (she was a single young mom), she said "I can keep her this way (meaning in this very low function way) as long as I want." I thought what a selfish comment and I'm SO happy that Heather flourished in the short 2 years I worked with her. I have enjoyed watching your channel and BTW you both look great, congrats in your weight loss....it's a tough road I know! I went from 234 to 118 in 2 years unfortunately I'm critically ill and can barely get out of bed. I'm 42 and now my mom is my caregiver. Y'all are doing great and thank you for being "real" about life with Autism.

Amy Law I have Mild to moderate autism with high functioning tendencies but I also am physically disabled as well I have a metal rod in my back and I don’t have very good muscle tone my arms
I'm awaiting diagnosis, but I know I'm high functioning. I just have VERY sensitive heating and go into meltdowns a lot from loud noises. Also, I'm very uncoordinated, and a total klutz with no depth perception. I'm always stimming, so I have a chewie to chew on, and I tend to rock a lot.
Just discovered you guys. I'm so happy you are sharing your story and your life with us. I have learnt so much already and Abby is just the sweetest. I think with some Autistic kids it's hard to see past that, but there's something special about her soul and it's almost like you can see how much she wants to express herself but she just can't. My daughter was born with Cornelia Dr Lange Syndrome. She is very violent and self injures alot, she also harms others and items. It breaks my heart when she tells me she hates her disability. She is 30 years old, but, mentally she's about 13. Emotionally, she's about 4. She lives in A group home. We tried to have her with us, ( my husband and I) but, she is just too violent. I pray so hard for her every day. I love her so much, its very difficult. Thank you for your videos.

After my 2 years with her, she was talking (I could understand her), enrolled in public school (special needs class), dress herself, learned about hygiene, went to several outside of school therapy classes and just really became a more happy, active girl and for that I felt rewarded.
I can see such similarities with your beautiful daughter.
I just wish the mother of the girl I took care of had began all the things I mentioned above at a much younger age. She missed out on a good 11 years of her grandmother doing everything for her and stayed inside in front of a TV for all those years. When I first started with her she even had a fear of just going outside.
Unfortunately they moved back to CA and I lost contact. Heather would be 25 years old now.
One thing her mother said in the very beginning of me living with them (she was a single young mom), she said "I can keep her this way (meaning in this very low function way) as long as I want."
I thought what a selfish comment and I'm SO happy that Heather flourished in the short 2 years I worked with her.
I have enjoyed watching your channel and BTW you both look great, congrats in your weight loss....it's a tough road I know!
I went from 234 to 118 in 2 years unfortunately I'm critically ill and can barely get out of bed. I'm 42 and now my mom is my caregiver.

i understand your family but i cant come up with the words to describe it. i would love to tell you my story (totally optional)about working in a aba clinic, volunteering since i was nine and the current work i still do and plan, my own disability and mental challenges.

Your make up toast and kiss was lovely, thanks for Sharing that as well. Poor Abigail. I am very glad she was not sick all day. It broke my heart to watch her cry over not getting popcorn. I have high functioning autism. but I'm 14 now and not doing as bad as I was when I was younger.
Amy Law I have Mild to moderate autism with high functioning tendencies but I also am physically disabled as well I have a metal rod in my back and I don’t have very good muscle tone my arms
I'm awaiting diagnosis, but I know I'm high functioning. I just have VERY sensitive heating and go into meltdowns a lot from loud noises. Also, I'm very uncoordinated, and a total klutz with no depth perception. I'm always stimming, so I have a chewie to chew on, and I tend to rock a lot.
Just discovered you guys. I'm so happy you are sharing your story and your life with us. I have learnt so much already and Abby is just the sweetest. I think with some Autistic kids it's hard to see past that, but there's something special about her soul and it's almost like you can see how much she wants to express herself but she just can't. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be for her. You are both so patient and caring it is so lovely to see. Thank you for letting us into your life! Xx
My daughter was born with
Cornelia Dr Lange Syndrome. She is very violent and self injures alot, she also harms others and items. It breaks my heart when she tells me she hates her disability. She is 30 years old, but, mentally she's about 13. Emotionally, she's about 4. She lives in A group home. We tried to have her with us,
( my husband and I) but, she is just too violent. I pray so hard for her every day. I love her so much, its very difficult. Thank you for your videos.

I think both of you are really looking great. Congrats and keep up the good work. Losing weight can be hard, but it's so worth it in the long run. I'm sorry Abby had such a rough night. That is not fun for anyone, especially when you have to clean up. That part can make me sick, too, because of my hyper sense of smell, and it's just nasty. But the pun? Really? LOL.
