I'm pretty sure if your game makes you finish the game twice to get to the end game and the end game is where the real fun begins then your game deserves a 7.
@@BlueLightningSky The game is fun from the start and you don't need to finish it twice to get to end game. Its just a few post game missions to unlock harder stuff.
I'm pretty sure not a single reviewer for this game even touched the endgame. The IGN reviewer only played with Gran/Djeeta for their review. I'm so tired of how bad gaming journalism is nowadays.
With that short main content and endgame repetition mission there's no reason to stick with the game aside from trying different character. 7 is fair score for gameplay alone, Heck, I'll give it more if we can bonding with other party aside combat and know their story. Tbh the game pretty dull for stuff outside combat.
This game is a 9 easy. It manages to pull off a combination of Genshin/Honkai+Monster Hunter with its own spin on all of it. Very good game with lots to grind for. Epic af boss fights.
this isn't a retelling of the story, it is a standalone story and your info about the characters seems pretty far off, the fates episodes give you a pretty clear retelling of each character’s story.
Having a total of 20 playable characters, all feeling very different, is an achievement in of itself. Yes, the shorter than advertised story & lack of exploration irks me a little. But this game will get free DLC updates and has no gacha mechanics of the sort. Coupled with the fact that Cygames has little experience making their GBF games like this, I say it deserves a higher score.
Definitely waited for a cast and game play like this for along time only ppl to come close was Manga Carta 2 "gameplay wise" & Infinite Discovery "characters wise"
Reviews should not be allowed unless the reviewer actually finishes all of the content. This games story portion is the tutorial, the real end game starts long after the credits roll.
Been following this game since 2018. Sad to see it wound up being just Anime Monster Hunter. Will still keep an open mind and try it out but this is definitely not what I wanted.
Try to play the actual game before making a review. You haven't played like 80% of the game that happens after story. It's like giving a review of a fighting game for the story.
Every character tries to speak their cool line MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT and it's so annoying. There are many songs from the base game and the UI is straight from gbf versus, only 10-14 hour of story and after that, everything you can do is grind like the web game. For me that's not my cup of tear and i can understand why you rate it 7/10
This feels like a review someone made when playing just the demo... It feels incomplete and missing the whole end game point since the campaign just serves as the introduction
@@jakemartinez6894 that is a great point but not in this case... @@jakemartinez6894 While the argument is understandable, it doesn't work here. Games like Monster Hunter, God Eater and this shine because of how much depth is found after the campaign, which is more of an introduction to the game. New abilities, weapons, moves, characters, enemies, enemy variances, side quest and side stories unfold after the 15 hour mark. I do agree that the story is just okay, but it isn't trying to be story focus game anyways. So yeah, this is not Starfield all over again, that's not the case.
While i was able to beat the main story in 11 hours, at the same time it took me 161 hours to get 100% completion, its more akin to monster hunter and other more western style RPGs that focus more on gameplay, progression, mechanics, content and endgame, stop calling it a JRPG, not all Japanese RPGs with anime art styles are JRPGs

Sounds mediocre for those who do not care much for grinding "It gets good after you beat the game". I thought the combat was just OK in the demo. Kind of disappointing.
Not everyone plays after the credits roll. that is bad game design. give me the 90% INSIDE the story, end game content is okay as long as its just additional bonus content. not 90% of fun.

Much better than a 7
Game is fun but not nearly as fleshed out as other grind/loot games like monster hunter.
They reviewed like half of the game at best so I guess the real score is 14/10.
This is my current favorite game of the year. It's simple but amazing. Nothing unnecessary. Cant wait to see what content gets added.

Tales of arise? Monster hunter? Final fantasy? Yakuza?
