I'm most excited about is the AI party, most ppl are not talking about it enough but from what I see so far, it's the answer for any mmo that is struggling with players doing specific content. Example WOW, the AI party can replace missing players in a raid, and guess what? the AI will know the mechanics of the fight and if you don't know the mechanics, you can just see what the AI party is doing and learn from them. A game like lost ark will never have support problems or needing to ask anyone for ur 8 man run of old content that no one wants to do, because the AI party is always there and ready when you need it. This does not take away from the online experience, this will enhance it. You want to play with other players, go for it and if ur missing a person or two the AI is always and option and if want just to play without anyone with you and just use the AI party then go for it. Freedom is king and this will open all kinds of doors. This is why I find this game very exciting, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the AI party system works.

The game is absolutely amazing BUT after 8 years of development I expected more unique bosses, however they're all extremely well designed and even the reskins have many different moves, I would've loved to see more iconic bosses in the game like the magna raids tho ngl.
I think they want to release new bosses and dungeons a little at a time. I also noticed the game takes place inside only 1 Skydom when there are many. So they definitely have alot of potential for DLC and content updates.
8 years of development doesnt mean the whole 8 years were spent working on this game. stuff gets thrown out, redesigned, etc. idk exactly what happened with platinumgames invovlement but that certainly took away some time from the project. also this is their first installment on the big gaming scene (aside from gbvs, thats a completely different thing)
@@Dillarune 8 years since the first gameplay showcase* There is no excuse and you shouldn't demand from people to lower their expectations, I'm not hating on the game and I absolutely despise people like you going akshuly ☝️🤓 over fair criticism.
I've played the demo and found it quite overwhelming, I've no idea what's going on in the combat, especially with so many characters attacking at once! Does the full game drip-feed you into it?
Do you have to problem with quest not giving the gold and mastery point they are supposed to? I am lvl 80 and this is really bothering me because upgrades are now worth 700 mastery point each. Also I seem to have capped damages and the unlock on this damages through glyphs is not very well explained. (I can see on the footage you are too) Overall I am already deeply addicted to the game. I really hope their is a lot of missions after lvl 100
Same here i saw the uncapp damage sigil also but it doesnt really specify what the threshold of damage is. I guess if you max stats the have multiple max attack/crit dmg sigils it can go past the tl lvl cap of 50?. Great fun game regardless atm.
I see what you did at the available character screen 😂. I personally wished it was a retelling of the story from its original game, but I can also understand why they chose to do a complete different story. Just a quick reminder, they’ve already announced two dlc characters and a boss battle dlc. There’s also more updates planned for release in May.
I've always like the Japanese game ever since I had found it. I thought it was so cool. I found out about it because I was playing shadows and I someone said a lot of the characters from rage of bahamut got pretty much we worked into this new thing called grand blue fantasy. And it was just final fantasy essentially but a fresh take on it so I didn't care too much for their fighting game cuz I'm not big on fighting games even though it looks cool. I do play blaze blue but I really just wanted an RPG and they finally gave it to me. I honestly wish they would have just brought their mobile game into the USA via an actual app so I wouldn't have to download a Japanese app that essentially just opens up a web browser on your phone, which was weird. But this game is scratching that edge. They did so well making the characters feel different. The game isn't overly complicated the combos the difficulty just depends on the character and the play style like this game is fun. I just started playing yesterday. I'm only a few hours in. I made it to chapter 4 and I'm having fun. I can't wait to see where this goes. I need something to hold me over until dragon's dogma gets released
Cas - In the demo review you mentioned camera issues. After playing the demo I noticed it too...Was this fixed or is it still an issue or do you just get use to it over time?
So you mention that AFTER the story you will be changing and upgrading weapons. Does that mean that you can customize and change weapons during the story portion?
You can. There are ~6 diff weapons per character. There's also a transmog system too if you like the look of a specific weapon. You'll only get like 1-3 weapons through the story (at least from my experience), the rest will probably be done through later questing/missions.
Honestly, after 7 long years of development and due its rich ip, some people were probably expecting a big immersive jrpg not a grind "end game" button smashing fest. I guess this is the state of the gaming market nowadays.
"State of the gaming market" pfft, stop talking so much rubbish. You sound absolutely ridiclous lol There are plenty of games of all genres and all types out there, you just so happen to have garbage taste. Move on
First time watching a Fextralife review, but here's my two cents: why is the pricepoint considered when giving the game a score? I get that it is important to the consumer, but it is completely separate from the quality of the game itself. It adds unnecessary noise to the final score given.
Am I the only one that likes to have everything done before the final boss? I don’t like post game stuff because I feel like I’ve already beaten the main campaign, so what’s the point? I do wish this campaign was longer though !
Someone speed through the main campaign and skip all the side quests..leveling up other chars..and trying diffent stuff out...idk seems like people rush a game and say it was short
I love that they made a shorter JRPG. I hate that they are charging full price. Its like a tiny fraction of other games like romancing saga 2, metaphor refantazio, ys x nordics etc.
I am still a bit on the fence, as you do say its for hunting fans, I just dont see the endgame being that long-lasting. Characters don't have the depth of different weapons in MH, simple combos and combined with the fact you can dodge whenever feels a lot more button bashy, sigils and weapon upgrades are just stat boosts, and because elements are tied to characters do you ever really want to change to a different weapon? That seems my impressions from playing the demo and watching various reviews. Don't get me wrong I want to like the game, just don't see what people are jazzing about. Probably waiting for a sale myself
Man it’s hard to find these type of games with good stories that aren’t so cliche or predictable. Scarlett Nexus and Ni No Kuni 2 suffered the same problem
This has been on my radar for about 5 years. I saw a video of a group of people co-oping through a level and then fighting a dragon at the end. However, the 3 "Quests" available on the demo were all arenas. The single player missions are separate from the multiplayer quests. Are there any multiplayer quests in this game that have the team go through a level and fight a boss or is it all multiplayer in arenas?
Wow, way to nerf the combo potential of an action game using hack n slash style combat, hate it when devs do that, cooldowns are such an unengaging mechanic, getting rewarded for waiting to use your abilities is the least exciting way to play a fast paced action game
I was never an OG Granblue game fan because I really don't like the art style and mechanic overall but this game looks interesting nevertheless, I'd love to give it a try. Edit: 90gb...nvm
Am I the only one who hates higher damage numbers? Like once you’re over 10,000 per hit it just seems arbitrary as it’s basically untraceable at that point
For one it doesn't have that outdated crap where you have to touch an enemy just to enter some random field of combat. It doesn't compare too much though to the Tales Of series though.
Good video. I was very on the fence about this game as I would only be getting it to play with a friend on the endgame and if the story isnt super long then I'm probably gonna pick it up. (Never engaged with Grandblue franchise so not really bothered about the story)
I’m trying to stick to side quest and combat related stuff to pad my story time out. I do think this is a buy if you like action RPGs and fantasy. I’m surprised how polished a lot of it feels.
Tbh, you don't really have to. Because you will grind till crazy at the later stage of the game. Especially end game when boss have over millions of hp.😂
Well what do you expect from a game which is just a spin off of the OG game (browser), some say its good w/out prior knowledge of the very beginning of the story but just an feeling good excuse to just enjoy the game and there still people confuse whats going on.
Really enjoying the game, however, I do wish I didn’t have to wear headphones to be able to hear the dialogue. I googled it and ran across a thread in Steam where others were talking about this same issue, so I know its not just me. I hope this gets patched soon.
@@rndhelpme9748Yeah there's hard difficulty on story still pretty ez tho, but on quest it depends on what quest because each quest has its own difficulty

I literally have never touched the granblue franchise, I'm gonna give this a go because it seems like something I can drop in and out of on days where I don't have time to smash out hours of gaming. Outside of that I don't have any bias for this game, but people be shitting on it as if they have played it and formed the opinion themselves, when they haven't.

The game is absolutely amazing BUT after 8 years of development I expected more unique bosses, however they're all extremely well designed and even the reskins have many different moves, I would've loved to see more iconic bosses in the game like the magna raids tho ngl.
They already stated post in game content is going to have additional bosses and more characters to use.
@@momintim I already know all of the post game content and the problem still remain.

There is no excuse and you shouldn't demand from people to lower their expectations, I'm not hating on the game and I absolutely despise people like you going akshuly ☝️🤓 over fair criticism.
I've played the demo and found it quite overwhelming, I've no idea what's going on in the combat, especially with so many characters attacking at once! Does the full game drip-feed you into it?
Is this a game I can play multiplayer through the whole story or just the end game?
Co-op with friends but online multiplayer is not available for story.
so if i want to play the endgame with a friend we both have to beat the singleplayer story mode? or is multiplayer unlocked from the beginning
I think Its unlocked after chapter 1 but if you finish the story mode first, online will be better.
Do you have to problem with quest not giving the gold and mastery point they are supposed to? I am lvl 80 and this is really bothering me because upgrades are now worth 700 mastery point each.
Also I seem to have capped damages and the unlock on this damages through glyphs is not very well explained. (I can see on the footage you are too)
Overall I am already deeply addicted to the game. I really hope their is a lot of missions after lvl 100
Same here i saw the uncapp damage sigil also but it doesnt really specify what the threshold of damage is. I guess if you max stats the have multiple max attack/crit dmg sigils it can go past the tl lvl cap of 50?. Great fun game regardless atm.
is it worth to get the special edition or are you able to easily get those items ingame?
I see what you did at the available character screen 😂. I personally wished it was a retelling of the story from its original game, but I can also understand why they chose to do a complete different story. Just a quick reminder, they’ve already announced two dlc characters and a boss battle dlc. There’s also more updates planned for release in May.
Can't wait because the other two characters are supposed to be astrals
@@icarus1455 tweyen and seofon I believe
Gonna wait for a big discount.
So excited for this game. Been waiting years.
@@HellzAssassntransmog is exclusive to weapons? There's skins to unlock?
Sure isn't a half-assed, overhyped RPG. Really glad this game turned out so well.
Will buy a physical copy for the PS5.
Ditto.
It be better if there was more bosses instead of repeating them. Ill buy it once all the dlc is out
I’m getting mine today!!! CAN’T WAIT! 🥺😍
This was really helpful
Another asian publisher dominating the market with astonishing games🗿 the west could never
Honestly, after 7 long years of development and due its rich ip, some people were probably expecting a big immersive jrpg not a grind "end game" button smashing fest. I guess this is the state of the gaming market nowadays.
"State of the gaming market" pfft, stop talking so much rubbish. You sound absolutely ridiclous lol There are plenty of games of all genres and all types out there, you just so happen to have garbage taste. Move on
Have you tried it on steam deck?! Any info on that???
Arekkz mentioned that in their review. I didn't pay attention but it was something about running decently albeit at a low framerate like 40 fps.
what is frens? does not compute.
it’s on sale on Steam 😊
First time watching a Fextralife review, but here's my two cents: why is the pricepoint considered when giving the game a score? I get that it is important to the consumer, but it is completely separate from the quality of the game itself. It adds unnecessary noise to the final score given.
It’s about value for money, it’s a legitimate concern for many
just playing it now - IT IS AWESOME
Yall beat the story in 10 hours? It took me atleast teoce that time. I was looking for wee pincers and stuff but still
Am I the only one that likes to have everything done before the final boss? I don’t like post game stuff because I feel like I’ve already beaten the main campaign, so what’s the point? I do wish this campaign was longer though !
Not to spoil it but the story doesn't necessarily end after the credits, and it explains why.
Find a different game then, for fuck sake. Quit your whinning
The point is the gameplay is fun, the point of this game isn’t the campaign, the story is just a means to an end.
Format seems confusing af 😂
Someone speed through the main campaign and skip all the side quests..leveling up other chars..and trying diffent stuff out...idk seems like people rush a game and say it was short
ITS ALMOST TIME>>>>>> YEEEESSSSSSSHHHH!
This game is perfect.
Is there any difficulty, or can this be finished by a button masher?
You have to actually try
Normal is hard, hard is difficult, extreme is your life
and maniac is your afterlife
@@D3athW1ng AWESOME! I was looking forward to this but had the feeling it was like an Atelier game difficulty wise.
@@Syrin23you can button mash in the early game. But it steadily gets harder and harder.
Btw 2 free DLCs has already been annouced, first one coming in march with a new super hard boss, and the april one with 2 new characters
Ok fextra you convinced me
im gonna wait for a big sale, since I was hoping for a story driven game. But doesn't look like this one si quite right. So, until then.
That sale is now, -40% on Steam.
This game is 20% story, 80% end game.. Just saying.
Can the cooldowns be removed by endgame?
Youll never have no cooldowns unless youre in linktime.
Wow, way to nerf the combo potential of an action game using hack n slash style combat, hate it when devs do that, cooldowns are such an unengaging mechanic, getting rewarded for waiting to use your abilities is the least exciting way to play a fast paced action game
@@kermitwithamustache3885 It’s almost like this is an RPG and not a hack n slash action title…..
@@ZephyrK_ it's almost as if i'm saying this based on playing other action RPGs that don't have an unengaging mechanic like cooldowns in them...
Battle mechanics is chaotic. I prefer turn based in rpg especially when skills/attacks so vibrant and fast.
I was never an OG Granblue game fan because I really don't like the art style and mechanic overall but this game looks interesting nevertheless, I'd love to give it a try.
Edit: 90gb...nvm
thanks for the great review !
Am I the only one who hates higher damage numbers? Like once you’re over 10,000 per hit it just seems arbitrary as it’s basically untraceable at that point
I'm fine with a max of 9999!
You’d hate the browser game then lol
Im loving the game it's wonderful 10/10
How does Grand Blue compare to Tales of series? I really like tales series
Not at all.
For one it doesn't have that outdated crap where you have to touch an enemy just to enter some random field of combat. It doesn't compare too much though to the Tales Of series though.
@@darkraven5626 cool. Thanks
@@dr.chungusphd108 ok.
No it's not really a JRPG, it's a coop action RPG focused on progression and endgame
Great looking game, but I'll probably wait for a decent sale. I don't really care about endgame and 60 bucks for a 10h story mode seems a bit steep.
*Grand Blue Relink:Nah Id win*
💙💥💙💥💙
Really enjoying the game, however, I do wish I didn’t have to wear headphones to be able to hear the dialogue. I googled it and ran across a thread in Steam where others were talking about this same issue, so I know its not just me. I hope this gets patched soon.
Been playing it since Sunday I’m at endgame I’m loving it
Can you change the difficulty? Concerned it will be too easy
@@rndhelpme9748Yeah there's hard difficulty on story still pretty ez tho, but on quest it depends on what quest because each quest has its own difficulty
@@rndhelpme9748 Japanese button mashers are always way too easy. If I can win just by mashing square then there's something wrong with the game, but I hope this isn't the case
@@babytiny5807no you have to use abilities, link attacks and finishers if you want to do any kind of real damage during the endgame
@@rndhelpme9748 It starts on a pretty basic/easy story but once its over it unlocks harder modes and also allows you to go back and replay chapters of the story in harder difficulty.
The only issues I have with the English cast is the little lizard, and that issues is based on the writing of its lines.
(I like dubs because I can't read and watch the animation at the sames time!,haha)
Looking at Charlotta & Cagliostro level 100 👀
A lot of thick people in the comment section it seems.
Honestly I am seeing that too, game is only 10hrs long.... the title says after 50hrs and the reviewer wants to play more???? Why do they think its 10hrs and that's it.
@@nathanscott2871 Sigh.. The story is around 10 hours long and the rest came from coop endgame. Some people just wanted to play the game like a longer story driven game which it isn't, or explore huge open worlds. Or hope, like me, that the AI is good enough in end game as I am not a people person
@nathanscott2871 People say the dumbest shit on the Internet, make thee worst assumptions, have unrealistic expectations and are just entitled af. Can't stand it lol May have to stop reading comments soon, because my brain can't take the amount of stupidity I read sometimes.
@Kyle-Marxluxia what annoys me is they think I'm some simp for the game because I think it's getting unjust treatment.
Back when this game was announced I was playing games like this and was very excited. Now I don't have time for games like this
Can you play different characters in the story mode or can you only play Gran and Djeeta?
You can play as anyone, but the captain must be in the party until you finish the story.
The only downside for me is that the story isn’t coop. Otherwise, this game is ridiculously good
Great video sir!
The doujins are masterpiece as well
you know ball
Looks like, plays like, is like every JRPG ever made. But its great. Go play one from 2010-2015 and you find...nothing different. That means this will be some GOTY contender.....for no reason what so ever.
