On the issue of the difficulty. The main campaign is not where the focus of any sort of challenge is. You aren't timed or graded on anything through the main campaign, and have been told by the Devs that assist mode is available for the entirety of it. The quest difficulty post game spikes, and continues to by skyfarer rank. The main game is throwaway. Its just a vehicle to dip your toes in, and have some spectacle.
Why even have a hard mode then if it's not supposed to have any challenge? Also 20 hours is a long time for throwaway content. Is it possible to skip straight to endgame?
I feel for this game they off-loaded the challenge to the endgame and to achieving maximum rank in multiplayer missions (the devs did showcase an endgame boss that one-shotted their entire high level party), I suppose the intention is to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the story and finish the main campaign even if they play on the hardest diffculty.
The problem is, that's what the easier modes are for. On top of that the story mode has 2 levels of assist, one being fully automated aside from character movement. The whole idea of what you're saying becomes irrelevant while those assist modes exist. The harder modes should be intended for people who want to be challenged while progressing the story
Well, Cygames is mostly known for mobile games, so with every different genre they tackle they try to have the most casual-friendly approach to them. As was the case with the Gran Blue fighting game, where your specials all come from Smash Bros'-like action commands (pick a direction and press a button). Tho in this entry they did say they wanted to provide a wider scope in terms of difficulty, but I guess the hard content is way beyond the main story. I think it's pretty much a given that this is supposed to be a entry point both for the mobile games' Cygames fans, as well as Cygames themselves into the ARPG genre. Not that I'm complaining, just pointing out why the difficulty may seem lower than expected for those out of the loop. That, and the games that the audience of this channel usually play have a lot more envolved combat systems. I don't really play games for difficulty. Be it me that is face rolling enemies or the enemis are face rolling me, I can have equal ammounts of enjoyment as long as the game's mechanics and presentation work for me. Still as excited as before to play this game tomorrow!
The fate episodes do explain what the “side characters” are doing while the story unfolds and why they are there and also contain battles, I hope you give them a shot whenever you can!
but they couldve added these to the actual game and added some actual time to the main story and instead they give you text walls and random battles for quests you couldve had that were companion specific.
I prefer not to swap between characters. I feel much more connected to the character I'm using, which motivates me to master it. From my perspective, multiplayer is the solution to the main complaints about 'controlling' other players. Regarding the story of the other characters, I've heard there are specific quests for them. To finish on the difficulty, I honestly think it's an easy fix they can address in the next patch and addons.
This was my concern and the reason why I haven't bought the game ...... do you need to play with every character through the game or you can choose your main and stick with him till the end , I really don't like games where we have to swap between multiple characters cause of story reasons
Being able to swap characters leads to the Genshin/Honkai dilemma. The kits for the characters end up becoming extremely one dimensional and sometimes you bring them in and press one button then swap them out immediately. Completely ignoring their other attacks and the rest of their kit. Which is usually designed to be useless anyway. In Genshin there are very few characters that you actually ever even use their normal attacks. It's a trash system and i'm thankful they didn't implement it. The whole wanting to swap between characters just seems like something you'd say when you're fishing for a complaint. These aren't 20 minute fights. Tbh pretty surprised Ruri even brought it up after so much time playing the game. Pretty stupid problem to have with the game

Deff understand your issue with the difficulty but sometimes it’s nice to have a game that you can turn on and enjoy playing. To me I feel this will be good to enjoy and have fun with.

@@jay.c2097 The endgame is extremely challenging, Rurikhan hasn't got there yet, but I've seen people that did and It's a one shot fest with raid mechanics and party wipe dps checks
For some context around the difficulty, up to extreme (1 rank after very hard, which is the rank Ruri is on) you are still progressing in the story, somewhat like how you have HR in Monster Hunter. The game even says that you can keep the assist mode enabled for any quests with Ex rank or below. This means that just like FFXIV, they tone down the difficulty so people that are not that good on action games can play them. The issue of having a story mode that's too easy is still there, but I think it's unfair to judge the game difficulty until Maniac/Proud.
On the difficulty note, the extreme mode for story campaign will be unlock when you finish chapter 0. all mops and boss are lvl 90 and above. I have 4 characters with lvl 100 and the highest weapon i can get but still struggled
Do you have to do multiplayer to progress the story and power up characters? Do you have the option to solo multiplayer missions? I’m not a big multiplayer guy, don’t really have any friends to play games with and matchmaking is usually inconsistent and/or toxic.
This was a good review. I just finished story and finally got to do multiplayer with my brother. I really wish they let us do the story together, because it got WAY more fun when we finished campaign and got to group together.
I've been enjoying it a lot, it's very addictive, so far at least (just in the "final chapter" atm). It's not what I thought it was gonna be, but not in a bad way. Lol, I've playing mostly Eugen too, 😊
Hey, I watched all your streams so far with GBF, and I agree absolutely with everything. *BUT* ... The 'difficulty' part I feel like I need to add something to it - you died a lot. You didn't wipe even once, that's true, but the game if instead of a critical bar that slowly depletes had a "you can only die 3 times" kind of thing, would be totally, *ABSOLUTELY* different, and you would have wiped at least 10 times through your playthrough. You once said during one of the lasts fights "I did poorly, I didn't deserve to win, and we got him first try anyways", but I feel you did poorly precisely because it was hard, otherwise you wouldn't have died nearly as much. I say this specially because one hard fight you had (the boss who was 30+ levels more than you on the ice area) you had to play out of your mind even tho some NPCs almost threw the fight at the end, and it felt "hard" because you were feeling the idea of "if I die one more time, it's over". My point is, It's 'hard' but doesn't feel like it because there's absolutely no punish from dying, which ultimately makes it easy, but rather than saying "the game feels easy" I would say "being able to die 20 times in a fight makes the game easy even in hard difficulty", to what I feel it describes the problem better... but that's just my opinion on it. Dunno, could be me just rambling. All in all, loved your thoughts. Have fun with the game!
Critical is too forgiving yes, but even now on extreme we deal so much damage it doesn’t even matter, the bosses need more HP or something. Also keep in mind I purposefully gimped myself by playing multiple characters and spreading mastery points all over the place.
This is the information i was looking for. There's no penalty for death so you can almost brute force everything regardless of being unoptimized Stat wise.
I saw a video of someone saying that doing endgame quest solo (with ai) is borderline impossible because the ai can't keep up with the amount of attack and projectile some boss are throwing at you.
You do? I don't understand his downsides at all lol. He hasnt played enough to comment on difficulty and the switching thing is a non issue. That's not what the game is. And it's also in direct opposition to his difficulty complaint. He rushed this review i guess. Maybe he just wants to move on. Plays too many games.
I played the demo yesterday, and almost completely lost interest when I found out I could win all the fights one-handed, no, I'm not joking; due to the fact that most characters have a lot of movement when attacking I found that I didn't need my left hand in the slightest to play... XD
I watch my friend (a pretty good player) against that exact Boss and get obliterated on medium mode (with Yodarha). I think that Eugen help a lot because you have to dodge way less attack (From what a i see on your footage). Still that remain a problem i guess !
@@yass3425 True, plus if i remember right, my friend was getting one or two shot by that boss. I don’t think he’s that wrong on his take tho but some bosses are a pain when you have no ranged options
Well the story is the story, as said a tutorial and a introduction to the game. But each character have his own Fate story with 2 missions and 11 segments. Some are really cool indeed.
What I'm most curious about with this game is its story. I know it has an anime and a mobile game, so I wonder if it starts from the beginning of it's story or start off somewhere after their adventure starts. Maybe lining up somewhere within the anime or the mobile game
whats your favorite character guys? for me it's Percival by far, he's a great Damage dealer, buffs the whole party and he really looks like a lord of flames
23:37 This is fine. Too many times, or perhaps nearly all the time with these games is your party the weakest link. You level and work on developing your party but they become worthless the moment you're not controlling them directly.
For me, I don't need to be challenged to have fun. A challenge can certainly be something to look forward to and Inam excited for the highest tier endgame of Relink, but I'm not bothered in the slightest that the game leading up to that isn't hard.
22:59 He is to clarify that the game is not easy... the story and the main game is easy. There are several difficulties and what would be considered the "high" and "master" ranks quests on this game. The difference is that MH makes you deal with High and Master ranks during the main story but Granblue don't.
I just finished the campaign the only issue I had on pc was the sound cut out for a second here and there on me during cut scenes but I enjoyed the game..
Before i buy the game. I read that the story is short. Is there end game content? Like other quest or what not we can do after beating the story? Thank Y'all.
For people who have reached the final expansion of the mastery paths, how many skills does a character have the ability to unlock? Including the offense and defense paths ^^
Only you can answer that. Like a Dragon is the 10th game on a long running franchise or at the very least the sequel of another 70 hour JRPG. If you’re a fan of the Yakuza franchise, it’s a no brainer IMO. Since you’re asking the question, I assume you’re not. So you should just get the one that looks more appealing to you.
Just get like a dragon. Relink is short and is mostly focus on multiplayer mode and is mostly Arena fight. The story isn't that good but it something to enjoy. If you like playing arena game solo or with other people, get relink. But if you want a goofy, traditional jrpg with jobs systems, go for like a dragon.
If you ever played Yakuza 0 you will like Like A Dragon ten times more. Gran blu is more like a fun side rpg action like jrpg like an inbetween before a major rpg release like FF7 rebirth or Monster Hunter Rise etc. Like A Dragon is built upon a huge history of Yakuza games with a newish combat system that is like Persona series. If you ever played Yakuza 0 you will definitely love Like A Dragon. Grab blu is like a casual but high end mobile game. It’s not built upon like a blow your mind, squeeze your heart kind of story. It’s more of about like addicting fun game mechanics and like a bit of an mmo. Yazkuza 0 for example on the other hand is about telling a full fledged story that will leave you satisfied with your purchase. Like A Dragon has a lot of wacky comedy though even though the story itself has a serious side, it also plays with japanese humor which is often super wacky and asinine so don’t expect like a Resident Evil type story etc.
I think the game should just go to maniac at story and unlock proud and proud + after you finish it. Since even in og game the easy to very hard is walk in the park.
Hearing that it's too easy is a bummer. I was really hoping the later game encounters would escalate the difficulty from what we experienced in the demo. Hopefully raid/future content will crank the challenge up.
Is Granblue Fantasy Relink one of those games where I have to grind by doing side quests in order to defeat a boss that’s a few levels higher than me? Like Diablo 4, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
@@omegaxtrigunThank god. Thought for a second that I have to grind a lot to get to the required level in order to defeat a main story boss which could serve as a road block due to his/her higher level.
@@skulltula1352 I decided to fact check myself and it turns out Bahamut is an Arabian origin myth, although that version is a giant fish, not a dragon.
I don’t understand this complaint about difficulty. Is the Monster Hunter campaign hard? Like I wanna know if the endgame bosses are challenging because that’s what actually matters. I don’t think a lot of people are buying this game for the single player experience.
One thing to note regarding voices..if you watched the anime’s from several years ago, they seem to have brought back all the original voice actors in both languages.
About the point of the non-main crew members and their involvement in the plot; I understand why they're not involved in the cutscenes as it could get really messy with how many characters there are, but it's still somewhat nice that they still get involved in the conversations during actual gameplay segments, even though it's still at a rather minor level of involvement. As for the difficulty; I feel it ultimately boils down to how slowly progression happens outside of the mastery tree, which is another issue due to how much of it is exclusively tied to the postgame. Because most of the weapons stats are in the second half of their uncaps, which are locked to postgame, on top of not being able to compensate for who you may have chosen to unlock due to how few crewmate cards are available before postgame, it makes it impossible for them to reasonably guess how strong the player's team may be....which can result in scenarios like Cagliostro cheesing the entire main story quest and most of the early postgame due to how absurd of a buff Phantasmagoria is. MSP being a shared pool makes this issue even more glaring because I found the objective best way to handle this was to just get the AI members the 4 skills you want, their perfect evade and perfect block, and then max out the character you mainly play because the AI is godlike at dodging so their health totals only matter if going for S++, but even then their chances of dying don't really become an issue outside of a select few fights.
I’ve only gotten to early post story, but feel like it still good to get your AI straight for when playing the Multiplayer quests Solo, especially for the apparent ramp up on Difficulty ranks. Atm, since it’s all super new, and the game is not even fully released yet ( tonight tho). There aren’t many who beat the game yet, so Matchmaking fails to find players, or times out completely. Even on complete Open, any region, no power cap. Even just going to Quick join.
the moment I thought "this game is great" was on the very early goblin quest. Thats the first time you can switch around the party setup and I decided to go at it alone, no party, hard mode. god damn those bosses there busted me up good but I had such a blast! dodging and blocking become insanely important and I learned a lot about my character. so for difficulty you could opt out of all or some party members to make your own challenge :D
Bit of a PSA on the totem trial things; crossing the boundary will stop the trial prematurely. This can be particularly bad for ones that include a boss fight, like the one Ruri showcases in this review, said boss in my playthrough had just pixels to go before defeat when it cornered an AI near the boundary but before I knew it my pogo combo with Zeta bounced me back through the barrier turning the trial off like a light switch. Hope Cygames can make a fix for this or some sort of prevention since it'll be quite frustrating if it happens to future trials. In the meantime be wary of bosses that start rampaging near the barrier.
The online is super buggy, serevers arent holding up lastnight tried a 4 player lobby and after one mission it has trouble starting a 2nd or 3rd mission with connection issues. Wish more content creators woukd talk more about this
It's a bit of a shame to me that it looks like they focused on making a very gradual and forgiving difficulty curve for the game. I get having an easy story mode for people so that everyone has a chance to play it, and even super casual players will be able to play an hour here and there and get something out of it. I'm sure games journalists will have a wet dream over this many difficulty options, and you do have to sell the game after all. But personally I think something like Elden Ring has a way better approach to difficulty, because you can make the game exactly as hard as you want to. With something like this that has about 6 difficulties, and it looks like the first 4 steps are mostly pushovers, that means I'll have to play through at least a dozen hours just to get to something challenging. That said, I still think I'll enjoy the game and I still plan to pick it up tomorrow on PC. But I also have a feeling that because a big chunk of the game will be me breezing through the easy bits while taking in the story, the game might not have the replayability on the high end I'd like. So I may not get nearly as many hours out of this as MH or Elden Ring. It may surprise me, but we'll have to see just how many challenging fights the game has. And if it ends up being a little too shallow, I can wait for DLC or go back to my Safi'Jiva grind. Because at the end of the day I'm looking forward to this game being a nice change of pace before Dragon's Dogma 2, but not the kind of thing I'll put a thousand+ hours into over the course of 2024.
they gain xp just not as much as if they would go on the hunt with you. the ones you havent traded in for also level up as well as get a lot of their costly masteries unlocked before you even buy them. if you wait until after story is done plus one mission after story, they will be level 45 with a lot of their masteries unlocked.
I wish you could Customize the HUD not seeing to many people talk about this . I would like to take away some things or just adjust the size and location. Really takes away from immersion with all the oversized HUD
i played the demo, and immediatly after i saw the first goblin fight and heard the music in the game i was sold, i knew this was gonna be a good game , a game i would enjoy, the soundtracks in this game is so good, and the combat is extremly fun as well :) the bosses are very fun to fight and a great spectacle, , im only at chapter 6 but i cant wait to see how hard the endgame is gonna be :), you also are not supposed to struggle for the story , the real endgame is much much much harder, harder than anything that even mhw can dish out so get ready
To me ReLink is an absolutely beautiful game, with all the depth of a puddle. I played as Djeeta (Female Gran) for thematic purposes, and I really noticed that a lot of fights seem to work against itself. Melee characters like Djeeta need to complete combos to increase there levels, but a lot of the time you are being forced off the enemy before you can even complete a single combo. Ranged characters don't have to do this, and just get free range. For some bosses like Chapter 7's boss, this was maddening as it kept moving away before I could build resources, and when I went to use them, it would move somewhere else and I'd have to start all over again. It's a work of art, very pretty to look at, but that's about it.
He composed for Granblue early on in its life, but he isn't responsible for all the music in the series, and in the case of this game songs of his have been remixed.
The lack of weapon depths kills it for me. I did say it looked kinda mashy before, was hoping for some other mechanics to make the battle mechanics deeper. Add to that, game being too easy, yeah. I’m gonna hold back until I see more updates, thanks for the review Ruri.
"But I don't think they still give you a reason as to why they joined your party." They absolutely _do_ tell you how each person ended up joining Gran's crew via the Fate Episodes @Rurikhan.
My complains are the repetitiveness and variety of the bosses (or rather no variety). Bosses are mostly just reskins or bosses you already killed in the story for the 5th time already just with higher damagr numbers and maybe 1 extra attack. For 8 years in development I expected more.
Only thing that I am aware of is that the difficulty of the game is after the story, the real end-game gets tricky and has real actual mechanics like real raids. Difficulty? IDK, some people never cause wipes in raids and others cause wipes 24/7 so is it hard or bad players? You never know :p
Good game just needs another 6-8 months or a dlc to be ready I think; lot of enemy models are re used with just different colors the levels aren't visually appealing and the soundtrack is lacking. Also just to easy and even the hardest end game multiplayer stuff they just have lots of HP not actually difficult or challenging.
I'm a bit nervous about the game if it has the problem of "It takes a LOT of hours to reach anything actually challenging". Especially since it has all these RPG systems that will only make difficulty balancing even harder, so theres a possibility min/maxers will either decimate encounters or you must be a min/maxer to be viable (I've had a lot of bad experiences with MMOs where this happens).
It IS a power of friendship type of story but it is not too deep in that side though. From what I have seen even in the end of the story mode, it seems pretty natural, especially when compared to all the stories of this type out there.
Apparently you can't platinum this game unless you purchased deluxe or collector's edition because one of the weapons is exclusive to those. It's not clear yet if it's on purpose or an oversight but it's a deal breaker.
There is 1 more dificulty after hard unlocked after campaing completion, and it rewards you with a trophy if you complete it. But still history is just a tutorial. "High rank", aka hard, is a introduction to endgame grind "Rank G" in other hanad (manic < proud < proud+ (monster lvl 150)) in other hand.... >,< ... maniac its not really hard by itself but grindy asf and is when you need whole party leveled to reach damage check bosses and stuff.... and aim for S++ ranks is the real "hard" mode cause missions are still doable. You can die a lot before fail a miss in this game. Also in G rank you start getting 2 and 3 bosses in the same arena D: and bosses have new and improved movements. Rank G is where the real fun start i think
Enemy HP scaling like crazy, but their damage not scaling is the worst kind of difficulty. It makes fight a drag and a test of enduring tedium instead of intensely challenging, fast paced fights.

@@danteleinguard9079you're only required to play as gran/djeeta at the very start but, after that you can play as whoever you want as long as you have them unlocked, with the only requirement being to have gran/djeeta in your party.

Regarding difficulty, post story quest have multiple difficulty level that you have to progress throught with rank up mission to unlock next tier: easy
Deff understand your issue with the difficulty but sometimes it’s nice to have a game that you can turn on and enjoy playing. To me I feel this will be good to enjoy and have fun with.
Yeah. Plus, I don't think Rurikhan gets to say he's not that good at action games after years of having a channel dedicated to Souls and MH-likes.
Some people get way more enjoyment out of a game when it properly tests their reflexes, strategy and problem solving skills. Sure, sometimes it’s fun to play a game here and there that’s mindless fun but at least in my opinion, those aren’t as memorable gameplay-wise.
@@redlunatic2224 yeah I’m in the same boat as him been playing these types of games for years and challenging is deff fun and I do agree with some of his points but I think overall this game will be enjoyable with some difficulty ramp up
so what you rlly said is " i am a pussy gamer and i should go and play stardew valley for the rest of my life cause i dont like challenges and now imma go make my tea and let a couple of guys fuck me afterwards" at least thats what i was reading from you o:
The issue of having a story mode that's too easy is still there, but I think it's unfair to judge the game difficulty until Maniac/Proud.
yeah his complain about difficulty is fucking stuupid
This
Yea, but why is the hardest mode still easy? Lol
Ruri Fighting mobs 20 lvls higher, and even then he still completed it.

On the difficulty note, the extreme mode for story campaign will be unlock when you finish chapter 0. all mops and boss are lvl 90 and above. I have 4 characters with lvl 100 and the highest weapon i can get but still struggled
Japan is killing it with all these games. Palworld, Granblue, Like a Dragon (if you don't count the controvercy) and later DD2.
Do you have to do multiplayer to progress the story and power up characters? Do you have the option to solo multiplayer missions? I’m not a big multiplayer guy, don’t really have any friends to play games with and matchmaking is usually inconsistent and/or toxic.
You can do quests (multiplayer) solo offline
As far as I’m aware you can solo everything
You don't even have to touch multiplayer for endgame content tbh people are farming it just fine solo
FYI the "side characters" has a unique voice line at the start of a story quest if you choose to play them.
Nah that isn't true. It's like they play on Full Assist mode. You only have to move the joystick and you're borderline immortal 😂. AI hardly dies
I'm having a blast playing GranBlue Fantasy Relink. I understand your downsides but all in all, it's a really fun game so far.
You do? I don't understand his downsides at all lol. He hasnt played enough to comment on difficulty and the switching thing is a non issue. That's not what the game is. And it's also in direct opposition to his difficulty complaint. He rushed this review i guess. Maybe he just wants to move on. Plays too many games.
@@RaptchurI assume he wanted to do a review before the Steam release for anyone curious about the game without a PS5.
I mean yeah playing a ranged character make almost every game away easier even soul like ones
Some are really cool indeed.
is this game is viable to play solo i mean without team just ur character ?
LOL at the savage Phoenix fight comment. The one fight where my group had to take breaks just to rest our eyes.
you can set it to 120hz frame rate when playing on PC
Did you finish the main story? I know to finish the true ending you must be in extreme mode at least. Above that there is maniac and proud mode
The main campaign is less then 20 hrs because I completed the campaign around 12-13 hours
Yeah, I was seeing comments just days ago claiming 40-60 hours for story. hundreds of hours for online and a lot of bs.
40-60 if you procastinating@@jacobtaylor7506
Before i buy the game. I read that the story is short. Is there end game content? Like other quest or what not we can do after beating the story? Thank Y'all.
Plenty of endgame content
@@rurikhan Thank you brotha. Buying the game now!!
For people who have reached the final expansion of the mastery paths, how many skills does a character have the ability to unlock? Including the offense and defense paths ^^
8
they get 8 which you'll get early, but later on you can increase the specs of each skill
Which should I buy first? Granblue Fantasy Relink or Like a Dragon IW?
It's 2 completely different games
@NoxLegend1 Cool. I am playing Yakuza 0 on my Steam Deck and loving it. I'll probably get Like a Dragon on PS5.
Can't wait to play tomorrow
I think the game should just go to maniac at story and unlock proud and proud + after you finish it. Since even in og game the easy to very hard is walk in the park.
Hearing that it's too easy is a bummer. I was really hoping the later game encounters would escalate the difficulty from what we experienced in the demo. Hopefully raid/future content will crank the challenge up.
Maniac and Proud difficulties will really give you challange and you also unlock Ultimate difficulty for the story
Is Granblue Fantasy Relink one of those games where I have to grind by doing side quests in order to defeat a boss that’s a few levels higher than me? Like Diablo 4, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
No.
@@omegaxtrigunThank god. Thought for a second that I have to grind a lot to get to the required level in order to defeat a main story boss which could serve as a road block due to his/her higher level.
Man, thanks for calling the game super easy.
Now every time I get comboed to death I am reminded how much of a shitter I am.
So fun.

I’m working on a guide, we’ll fix that soon enough.
It's worth mentioning the Critical Gauge doesn't uhh... it doesnt replenish. It depletes faster for the entirety of that level.
So at the beginning you fight Bahamut I thought that was a Final Fantasy thing. So is this game a spin off or can any game use that name?
Bahamut is public domain. I think he is a Mesopotamian myth, but don't quote me.
@jgrif7891 Ah okay that makes sense. Thanks for the info
Monster hunter campaign is challenging when you start from 0. It actually takes effort.
Proud mode moment.
Game responds to player complain about difficulty too easy.
(Too easy killing bosses? Okay , lets do 3 at the same time)😂
Ah, yes, bad game design. my favorite
"The harder bosses are still so easy 😔"

Ruri can you keep us updated on how difficulty goes in the endgame? At your own pace obviously
Would you recommend Grandblue Fantasy Relink or Monster Hunter World?! Trying to figure out which one to buy and sink some time into :)
Monster Hunter World.
Both
the moment I thought "this game is great" was on the very early goblin quest.
Wish more content creators woukd talk more about this
so like sword and fairy then?
Is this any fun after the main story or just a 30 hours joy ride?
The whole 20 hours story is just a tutorial lmao, the real game starts after you finish the game.
Are there any summons in this game?
No
It's a bit of a shame to me that it looks like they focused on making a very gradual and forgiving difficulty curve for the game.
Not everyone wants to play elden ring every single game lol
Looks cool! Thanks for the review.
Can the cooldowns be removed by endgame?
Not really. You can shorten them with sigils
Do i need to equip my AI mates? Or are they always at the Level and Gear of my Main Character?
You can remove AI mates from your party and must be geared seperately
they gain xp just not as much as if they would go on the hunt with you. the ones you havent traded in for also level up as well as get a lot of their costly masteries unlocked before you even buy them. if you wait until after story is done plus one mission after story, they will be level 45 with a lot of their masteries unlocked.
You need to gear them, and mastery points are shared.
I wish you could Customize the HUD not seeing to many people talk about this . I would like to take away some things or just adjust the size and location. Really takes away from immersion with all the oversized HUD
How you described the difficulty is exactly how I feel about monster hunter. I do hope the end game fights here on proud are sufficiently difficult.
i played the demo, and immediatly after i saw the first goblin fight and heard the music in the game i was sold, i knew this was gonna be a good game , a game i would enjoy, the soundtracks in this game is so good, and the combat is extremly fun as well :) the bosses are very fun to fight and a great spectacle, , im only at chapter 6 but i cant wait to see how hard the endgame is gonna be :), you also are not supposed to struggle for the story , the real endgame is much much much harder, harder than anything that even mhw can dish out so get ready
Can you change controller button Layout?
they didn't change anything from demo, so there is very limited thing u can change. On pc it may be a diffrent story
No adapt
How do you still not know the absolute legend and GOAT Nobuo Uematsu is the composer for the Granblue games?
He composed for Granblue early on in its life, but he isn't responsible for all the music in the series, and in the case of this game songs of his have been remixed.
The lack of weapon depths kills it for me. I did say it looked kinda mashy before, was hoping for some other mechanics to make the battle mechanics deeper. Add to that, game being too easy, yeah. I’m gonna hold back until I see more updates, thanks for the review Ruri.
Honestly looks like Strangers of Paradise, I actually enjoyed that game quite a bit.
The voice actor for dragon ball super that plays Gohan is Rackam.
Wish I could play it on Steam, but my PC says nope. Not the only one though. Even if my Pc specs kinda suck XD. Hope for a Pc fix soon from the devs.
"But I don't think they still give you a reason as to why they joined your party."
They absolutely _do_ tell you how each person ended up joining Gran's crew via the Fate Episodes @Rurikhan.
Now I’ve seen 4 or 5 of these fate episodes and it’s pretty hamfisted tbh, but you are correct. Then again it hasn’t really impacted my enjoyment.
My complains are the repetitiveness and variety of the bosses (or rather no variety).
Bosses are mostly just reskins or bosses you already killed in the story for the 5th time already just with higher damagr numbers and maybe 1 extra attack.
For 8 years in development I expected more.
This overall sounds like an excellent game to get on sale.
Only thing that I am aware of is that the difficulty of the game is after the story, the real end-game gets tricky and has real actual mechanics like real raids.
Difficulty? IDK, some people never cause wipes in raids and others cause wipes 24/7 so is it hard or bad players? You never know :p
Is the multiplayer also too easy, if so then I may not get it til later
Good game just needs another 6-8 months or a dlc to be ready I think; lot of enemy models are re used with just different colors the levels aren't visually appealing and the soundtrack is lacking. Also just to easy and even the hardest end game multiplayer stuff they just have lots of HP not actually difficult or challenging.
The soundtrack is lacking?!?! Wtf?
I'm a bit nervous about the game if it has the problem of "It takes a LOT of hours to reach anything actually challenging". Especially since it has all these RPG systems that will only make difficulty balancing even harder, so theres a possibility min/maxers will either decimate encounters or you must be a min/maxer to be viable (I've had a lot of bad experiences with MMOs where this happens).
Is Rolan playable, asking for a friend 🙂
Can this game be played offline?
Its completely offline. Coop is an option after the main story.
this just dropped on PC so I can't wait to get into it after I finish Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in 6 months
The game gets extremely difficult later with bosses one shotting you, raid mechanics and rough party wipe dps checks
Multiplayer mostly arena missions... yikes. I was expecting something with a little more depth to be honest.
Thanks for your honest review.

I agree with the difficulty. I debated on whether or not to play on hard and I'm glad that I did. It's been fairly easy. I have only died to Furycane.
i absolutely agree with everything you said, especially how easy the game is. wonderful game, it just needs to be harder.
It IS a power of friendship type of story but it is not too deep in that side though. From what I have seen even in the end of the story mode, it seems pretty natural, especially when compared to all the stories of this type out there.
What about dragons dogma?
Apparently you can't platinum this game unless you purchased deluxe or collector's edition because one of the weapons is exclusive to those. It's not clear yet if it's on purpose or an oversight but it's a deal breaker.

Yes.
With nobuo uematsu (of final fantasy fame) as the composer i would expect the soundtrack to be very good.
There is 1 more dificulty after hard unlocked after campaing completion, and it rewards you with a trophy if you complete it. But still history is just a tutorial.
"High rank", aka hard, is a introduction to endgame grind
"Rank G" in other hanad (manic < proud < proud+ (monster lvl 150)) in other hand.... >,< ... maniac its not really hard by itself but grindy asf and is when you need whole party leveled to reach damage check bosses and stuff.... and aim for S++ ranks is the real "hard" mode cause missions are still doable. You can die a lot before fail a miss in this game. Also in G rank you start getting 2 and 3 bosses in the same arena D: and bosses have new and improved movements.
Rank G is where the real fun start i think
will the game look awkward on a 4K monitor ?
Enemy HP scaling like crazy, but their damage not scaling is the worst kind of difficulty. It makes fight a drag and a test of enduring tedium instead of intensely challenging, fast paced fights.
