Great video, I shared my experience and impression on the flight on the normal thread, I just wanted to add (as I forgot), I also love the Scandinavian airport designs. I wish they were the norm.

This is the 2nd PIA review I watched. I notice that PIA is probably not the airline you would expect for quality hard product like seats and IFE but the crews make the flight become cheerful with their genuine service. I can see how they go extra miles on customers and that’s what many airlines should focus on. Nevertheless, PIA is still one of the airline I’d like to try one day.
I was so curious to see them again, reviewed by you! PIA is the first national airline I flew, the first airline I flew long-haul, and coincidently they were also the ones I flew on my very first 747 journey! Back in the day, the hub was Karachi. I've always loved their uniforms, very elegant. The food was nice, even in economy, and I learnt to love kheer (traditional dessert) on board their planes! The first route I flew with them was ORY to KHI via FRA and CAI, then a 707 over the Himalayas to Beijing, which was a very sought-after route by avgeeks back then (for the views as well as the aircraft which it remained very few flying, already in the 80s). Then I flew their Southern route some years later, in the early 90s, from KHI to NRT via BKK and MNL. I loved their livery back then, with some gold and darker shades of green. They already had the pre-flight prayer, elegant exotic uniforms, and... yes, the broken toilet(s) and dirty floor at the end of the flights. Overhaul, I remember them fondly anyway, because PIA had class and they are the ones who made me want to fly for a living.
Regarding your video, my impression is that the seats are much better than usual economy class seats, with thicker, comfier seatbacks and bigger legroom than the current norm, and I also love the refined colors and fancy fabric.
From what I've heard by their people, they've declined a lot since my experiences and I agree they deserve some adjustments to become once again one of the greatest airlines in the world.

PIA is so unpredictable man. You'll either have an amazing flight or a complete disaster. The cabin needs to be refurbished. Oh and this aircraft, AP-BHV, it just recently got back into service. It was out of service for almost 2 years so I guess that somewhat explains the broken lavatories.
I hope that's true, because my experience with PIA is an absolute disaster. Josh Cahill recently made a review of PIA and gave it thumbs up. Nonstopdan at least shows some down sides of it.
Kareem: I also seen Josh's vlog. But its fantastic to see a different experience. Every passenger will not get the same treatment.

I really think that Josh and Dan experienced nice genuine Pakistan! hospitality. The plane needs a re fit though.

When you fly PIA the prayer has to be long. That's all I'm going to say. Fun fact about PIA though. It helped setup Emirates airlines. Shame the standards have fallen.

They recently provided its business plans for now to 2026, plan to expand there fleet to 49 by then, and have over 500 weekly flights, and start regaining a reputation, so maybe, who knows, in a few years we may start seeing some change
THIS WAS JUST YESTARDAY! My cousin flew pia from Karachi to Toronto when there was a 2 hr delay. They arrived two hours late but it’s the baggage handling process that’s slow which was what made him lose his next flight. He arrived later thankfully on AC175!
Even the airline is trying it's best but people don't want to correct their selves . We need to fix ourselves
I believe PIA should train their cabin crew as well as their passengers before boarding the flight.

Back in 2011 it was fine, my family travelled with PIA to Pakistan. I wad young and very excited. I had no problems with it. Rather it felt luxurious. Last time i travelled with PIA was 2013. I hope PIA becomes a better airline one day so that i can travel with it

PIA is recovering from some very serious financial setbacks. I can't say more there is still a long way ahead.

I travelled in 2019 to Karachi in PIA and had literally no problems, it didn’t have as much turbulence as some of my most recent flights to other countries in other airlines.
I was on board a few days ago. PIA is a pretty good flight. The crew was very helpful.
I'm not fussy about how I fly cause for me it's all about the destination but as usual I enjoy watching your videos and your diplomacy 🤣🤣 fly Air Zimbabwe and let's see how patient you can be
16:57 ,they've been trying to improve PIA for many years now. They'll imrpove to the miximum in the near future, and then hopefully, PIA will service Australia like they once done several years ago ( I think maybe 30-40 years ago). By PIA hopefully coming to Australia in the near future ( Which I'm very hopeful for) that will cut down my 17 hour flight with either Emirates or Etihad to just nine with PIA ( MEL-AUH and then AUH- LHE ) or (MEL-DXB and then DXB-LHE)17 hours total flying time, provided the plane is not late

My first experience of flying was in about 1967 or 1968 I think from memory, when I was delegated by my father to attend a family funeral on his behalf as he couldn’t, because of work commitments, attend himself. So my first flight, at age 15 or 16, was unaccompanied - turboprop domestic return flights in the UK. From about 1972 I was flying pretty regularly internationally and that continues more or less to this day, with a gap between early 2020 until about a year ago for reasons I’m sure you can imagine, mostly on scheduled airlines, a few over the years on company aircraft. I now only fly a few times a year, mostly within Europe, occasionally further afield, all leisure flights.

Happens everytime with islamic majority countries. It doesn't take much time for politicians to use ultimate trump card, Islam. Once they allow religion into constitution, it's a downward spiral from there. UAE is exemption, because it's Switzerland of Middle East.

Great to hear the crew was delightful and good to know you took off with all the blessings one could ask to ensure a safe flight! I like the PIA livery, too. OMG.... Glad you only had to experience those conditions for a short flight. The lav and the mess on the cabin floor, uh.... think its best not to comment. Picture says a thousand words. Coming out of a scheduled maintenance event, there is really no excuse for having two lavs not working.
At least you had a decent experience with the cabin staff.

I sat though a pre flight prayer on Kuwait once on an old 747 going LHR - Kuwait. The crew were in the mid cabin area with curtains drawn and there were billows of cigarette smoke coming out under the curtain. Allah was vigilant though because we landed almost sideways when the captain forgot to correct before landing. Survived. Nostalgia

The fact that the PIA plane was a bit tatty didn't surprise me. The fact that the crew was lovely REALLY didn't surprise me. Also, Oslo is a great airport. The train to the city center is super convenient and easy.

This is economy class. Business class and first class are still good.
@Nonstop Dan I traveled on the same dates as you via PIA, but domestic, and of-course in a smaller jet, so it was new and everything clean without issues, also with great AC that worked till we disembarked the plane. Sorry you had a bad experience with PIA. like a few people pointed out in the comments below that PIA has a problem with standards control and has been having funding issues for renovating the cabins and the entire jet. Hopefully someone at PIA would be rightly embarrassed by your video!

Yep, standard PIA flight. Most of us from Pakistani origin are used to all this. Glad they’ve had their license revoked in the UK for a while. They have gone massively downhill over these past few years.

Judging by this as a "short haul " flight I doubt if I would do a long haul flight with this airline. Toilet looked filthy...seats sub standard....I am at least glad the crew looked after you but so many mixed reports about PIA leave me with the thought I would rather go to jail than fly with them !! Great to see you back Dan and another great report !!
Trust me you'd rather fly with them than go to jail. This was a short flight. I doubt you'd go to jail for such a short time unless it's just being booked for an offense. But your sentencing would be longer. Regardless i wouldn't recommend PIA, unless you're flying business class or economy class.

Dan, my sweet, always take antibacterial wipes on every flight. They don't clean the tray tables between flights. I always wipe down the tray table and I've had the wipe come away absolutely black with filth.
