- this industrial building had the electricity turned off by the utilities company to repair an electrical issue inside the building. when the power was turned back on, the front office had no heat. let's find out why.
Nice to know someone in America still writes cursive as per the handwritten note tag hanging from the wire in the control section.
😆. I miss that guy. Jimmy Walker, he taught me so much that it blows my mind. He retired around 2 years ago, and though his cursive wasn't always easy to read, it was always detailed and helpful. Good catch, grandinosour.
I learned it in the third grade, I haven't used it since the third grade!
That Carrier’s cousin is down here in Florida except electric heat, repaired condenser leaks 3yrs ago, still going …
Who puts an RTU in the middle of an ice rink 😃 Nice job, Thanks for the video !
😆 you probably don't see many ice rinks that far south. Thanks, Subcool! What part of Florida are you from?
@@EverythingHVACR Nope just sun, rain, swimming pools and iguanas 😎 South Florida Ft Lauderdale area, going on 49 yrs 😅
@subcoolHVAC I have a cousin in the Del Ray Beach area. He runs a residential hvac company.
@@EverythingHVACR That’s 45 minutes North of me ☝️
@subcoolHVAC I thought that was near your area.
Those overloads are old school. I have a 1986 Carrier 30HR chiller that i service with them. Its a cool setup. Has 2 contactors per compressor.....so its using a part winding starter with mechanical unloaders....all being controlled by a cam that engages relays on a timed basis. The water temp is also on the cam and that is what engages the unloaders. Its old school....but cool as hell. Love the old electromechanical controls.
Great video as always Steve. Thanks for sharing with us
Thanks, Jason! They don't build things like they used to. I would like to see that chiller set up.
Well at least you have done your checks before resetting the circuit breaker ..👍👍👍👍
And your checks after .all you can do,for now Steve 👍👍
Yessir, thanks, John
Good troubleshooting as usual & nice Ice skating skills Thx Steve-o
Thanks, Eddy! I got skills 😆
Great job Steve. Has Always like you videos stay safe.
Thank you, Jr.
Good troubleshooting tech
Thank you, tech! thesilentonevictor, I appreciate you.
@@EverythingHVACR you know I work with chillers, mortuary, walk in cooler and freezer , medical fridge so I am always watching in my own interest 😂
@thesilentonevictor interesting, I'd like to see some of that. That sounds like some random stuff I would see 😆. Where are you located?

@thesilentonevictor Nice! Keep up the good work 💪. I appreciate the comments and support. Leave the Trade better than you found it.
Good stuff Steve O. That design of carrier is def a pain to change out the blower motor.
This design has a lot of flaws 😆, thanks, Bryan!
Why do people always gotta cut out all the safeties and crankcase heaters... Nice work!
And not note or tag any of it, 😆. I wish I had an answer... Thanks
Looks like a 48DR016.....some still had the 06 compressors.....about the last of the decent machines....The new ones are sad.
Most new machines are sad, unfortunately 😔
Oh dang I thought I was already subbed too you but i just realized I wasn't so congrats you just got a new sub!
Hey, thanks, Ethan!
You're absolutely welcome bro anytime man!
I’ve seen when the inner panel isn’t secured properly that it drops down and turns off the indoor fan breaker.
Thanks, Shifter! That can happen. The old trane units were the worst. The compressor overloads were top right, and the panel would turn them off when removed.
Those breakers don't go mid position when they trip, they go to the off position. Probably what happened is the power company opened one leg at the recloser or transformer and single phased the blower motor, amp draw went up and breaker interrupted it.
Yessir, thanks, Topher! You are right, I spoke wrong. They do not go to mid position.
@@EverythingHVACR sometimes it's hard to remember which ones do and which ones don't. IMO, they should all go mid, that way us techs know WTF is going on when we don't have all the details.
Sometimes, it is hard to remember, and sometimes, I say completely incorrect things in the moment 😆. It happens, I won't pretend to know everything.
