The BluVac app is really good. It has a great graph to plot your vacuum and decay testing. A sharp rise is a leak, a gradual rise like a hill is moisture. I've also found that a periodic decay like test will also help with pulling down even further. I will do a periodic decay for 5 minutes at a time. It gives me look at how good my vacuum is going and allows any moisture that is in the system to boil off a bit more and be removed. Glad you went back with 22. Nothing against replacement refrigerants....but nothing beats what it was designed for. Great video as always Steve-o
Reminds me of a soda factory I serviced decades ago… when you were done everything was sticky, tools and clothes etc. from the syrup mist air…. Looks like you’d have oil on you there.. nice repair 👍
Thanks, subcool. Yeah the oil and the smell is real. Tyvek suits for some repairs saves your clothes but boots and tools take a beating. I’ve worked in a few soda places too, sticky icky icky 😆, I’ll take it over the oil.
Good video Steve O. Love the bluvac micro. Just got the blue vac hose the other day. Haven't got to use it out in the field yet but did use it today to vacuum my recovery cylinder. 150 microns in 10 minutes I thought was pretty good. Your always having to walk a country mile to get to the equipment. Lol
Thanks, Bryan! Nothing I work on is easy access, or used to work on, lol, those days are over, I start my new gig next week after my vacation. BluVac is a game changer.
looks more like old 240v 3-phase corner grounded delta, where one phase is actually ground bonded. across all line to line would be 240v, two at 240v to ground and one at zero. or they've done some real janky reconfiguring of 240/415/480v and you have two 240v phases(480 across) and fused neutral? missing the 415V high leg? could also be some other screwy setup with a step down transformer. who knows what's been done, huge can of worms 😬
😆 yessir. We don’t way overcharge for R22 like most do but it would have definitely been cheaper to keep it converted. Repairs are covered for this customer as well so they were not billed.

if your going to do all that, why not just break the vacuum with nitrogen and pull down again. 🤔
I don’t remember honestly what I did or why I did it but I would agree a vacuum should be broken with nitrogen.
😀
Excellent fix 👍✌️
Thanks, Stephen 👊💪
Great job Steve polishing a turd.
Always polishing turds 😆 thanks,Jr

You sure see a variety of job sites & applications, good on you for taking the extra time for making & editing a video!
@rcf8367 thanks, RCF! I appreciate you.
That rubber piece holding up that pipe is factory I believe. These trane spine fins were notorious for rubbing out in spots.
Great video!
Thanks!

@@EverythingHVACR awesome dude. Hope it treats you well!
I appreciate it.
Delta high leg system. You'll have 208 on the middle leg to ground. Usually phased orange.

in my experience a clear sight glass is either full or completely empty, lol.
Facts! 😆 sometimes it’s hard to tell.

You turned 20 dollars worth of scrap, into an 1800.00 dollar ac unit, with that R22.

Its only like a 300 dollar diffrence between bluon and 22 anyway
