HVACR videos. The goal of this channel is to shine a light on the trade that has been so good to me, share the knowledge that I have with the community of HVACR professionals, young people who are interested in the trade and anyone with a casual interest in what we commercial service technicians do everyday. We will never know it all and will always make mistakes. All we can do is strive to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be, put customer service first, and continue to solve the problem and not just the symptom with everything we do... Leave the Trade Better Than You Found It...

this service call was for a humidity issue. Both units were operating on arrival, and humidity was clearly elevated. Thermostats were poorly placed, one inside an office and one inside a conference room. humidity issues can be tricky, but I was able to find a refrigerant issue and leak with one unit, the other was operating properly. With a few slight adjustments and correcting the refrigerant ...

No Cooling Service Call, York package unit
มุมมอง 96828 วันที่ผ่านมา
this York package unit is throwing belts, and someone else has checked this before. We have to be better than this. this is the shit that makes me sad when I think about the state of this trade. We must strive to be the best versions of ourselves, and this doesn't even have anything to do with the trade. Just be better, care more, and try a little harder. Do the little things you can control. T...

Smart customers are your best friend. this customer called because the sound of the unit changed, it was still cooling the space but wouldn't have for long. the belt was loose on the unit they called for but we also checked the second unit and caught a carrier rub out before it became a problem. someone else takes care of these units it would have been easy to tighten the belt, run, and badmout...

Thank you, Eddy
And knows roofing plus passes it along. Thank you.
Thank you, Jay.
I take care of 4 of those GCS16 15 ton RTUs from the 90s. What a pain, always something going south.
These types of conditions are hard on them. I suspect the grease build-up on the wheel finally threw everything out of whack.
👍
🙏👊💪
Ah, just throw another belt on it! Lol!
😆. Tail light warranty
Wise words
Thanks, Jason
How do you check sub cool if it only has a discharge port.
Good question, thanks, Johnny. It is a skewed number without a liquid port, but it can still be a useful reading. You just have to understand the reading you are taking and interpret it accordingly. So if you assume some pressure drop across your condenser, you can figure the subcooling reading, in theory, will be elevated slightly. Discharge superheat and line temperature can be useful, too. Some chillers use approach temperature, which is another reading that can indicate how well your condenser is rejecting heat.
Great video!
Thank you, sir! much appreciated
I'm always learning something from your videos. Thanks for continuing to put the effort in to create and share them.
Thank you, Jay
Another great job, big time lack of maintenance at that plant.
Yessir, thanks, brother. Actually here right now working on some other neglected stuff 😆. That room is still 74 degrees.
👍 Great assessment & fixes Steve, in defense of York those weren’t factory issues. However, the wire routing & dress out is rough, that’s classic JCI/York’s lack of controls engineering & workmanship..
Thanks, RCF
Thanks for sharing this video im hvac tech and my work side has trane roof top with 10 vav boxes and same termostat my question is; is there trane tech support that i can call and is there anyway to get this program to download to my computer
You must have a license through trane to get the software and tech support. You can only do so much without the software. Thanks, mradam.
👍

Great Job Steve O. Saw the small bubbles on that u bend. Thinking about getting one of the Dr 82's. Haven't made my mind up yet.
Thanks, Bryan. Love the DR82, it's a great detector
Nice job finding that coil leak. Definitely been eyeballing that leak detector for a while now, seems to work pretty good.
Thanks! I love the fieldpiece detector. It works really well, and I haven't had any issues with it.
Love mine too found a leak on a Lennox package unit this week as well
Shit I’m here for the accent and the quality of work…. Great work as always Steve.
🤣 Thanks, Freon!
Great Video!
Thanks, brother!
A leaking evap on a Lennox......nooooo....you dont say...lol....that is their infamous location to leak
Thanks, Jason!
If I'm not mistaken a unit with an economizer must have y2 connected
I don't think that's true. The economiser is not a cooling stage, Y1 is still Y1, the economiser just makes the decision weather to open an outdoor damper or energize Y1.
@@EverythingHVACR maybe it depends on the manufacturer
@EverythingHVACR actually he is correct. Y1 is the economizer and Y2 is mechanical cooling...it doesn't seem correct, but it is
But if you have 2 stages, you don't have a Y3, right. The thermostat doesn't call for econo, it calls for Y1, and if the conditions don't allow, it passes the Y1 signal (24v) and brings on stage 1 compressor.
It could be a lennox thing, I don't see them as much as carrier and trane.
Nice job Steve-0 ...Stay safe Brother ... Thx
Thanks, Eddy
Nice work as always Steve. Stay hydrated out there brother.
Thanks, Steven
Great job Steve be safe.
Thanks, Jr.
Is that stat an auto change over on that heat pump?
I don't remember, honestly, the thermostat wasn't an issue other than the location
@@EverythingHVACR Just wondering if the coils on heat pumps going from cold to hot in the same day could be causing metal fatigue.
how aren't you considered with static pressure? that makes a big difference on cfm.
fuck me i didnt watch the whole video before commenting. Smart mf right here. lol
Thanks, jsd21hb!
Ahh its been a while my friend ,sooo fukn hot here in jersey last few weeks . You sound like your spent on this video ,guess your running on empty too! Well im glad not to be only one frying of heat exhaustion. On my way to the last one of the day its 3:30 pm here in Ocean County. Got 6 more days till im off again . Ttysoon
Hey, thanks, James! It has been hot here, too. It was 90 degrees 60 percent RH with a 73-degree dew point last week and was supposed to hit in the hundreds this week. Stay safe, brother
Thanks for the video. Any new ERV projects ?
Thanks, Elizabeth! Unfortunately, ERVs usually just get neglected and then left off when they are beyond repair or need major repairs.
Good ole accustat , hopefully they dont abuse the new thermostat privileges 😅 Nice job 👍
😆 Thanks, Subcool! They will, I locked them out at 70 degrees
i had to laugh a lil. you got lucky with them dead wasps. Keep on HVAC'n
😆 I did get lucky. Thanks, Drew
Ya looks like some of the jobs from hell I've had over the years way to stick with it😮😊
Thanks, Jim!
Great job Steve stay safe. I use blue for common most of the time.
Thanks, Jr!
so no evap clean>
Nope, it gets neglected once again 😆.
Commercial I’ll use black for common and resi I’ll use blue
Great job Steve.
Thanks, Steven
I usually use blue for common, but I have used black when blue is used for the switchover valve on Ruud, Rheem, weather king, Bard and a couple Chinese brands.
Thanks, Topher! There is no wrong color as long as it works lol
@@EverythingHVACR that's it. It could be red as long as it's on both ends, lol

You do come across them . Bet its been neglected for a long time As least you got it running 👍👍👍👍

Thanks, Curtis 🙏
Always cringe when i have to deal with a split system In commercial applications. Never easy to get to. Good stuff Steve O!
No doubt, thanks, Bryan!

😆 yeah. RTUs stolen 3 times. They now have cages welded to the curbs, barely enough access to replace a filter.
