So, cart pushing requires ALOT of walking. Some stores have only 1 section where the carts go in , some have 2 and you'll have to keep going back and forth which can be exhausting. My store has two sides so I don't stay on one side, I have to go back and forth all day to make sure both sides are decent. I don't recommend cart pushing but If you need the money go ahead. It pays OK. I make $15 an hour. You get breaks every 2 hours so let's so I work 3:00pm to 10:00pm. I'll take my first break at 5:00pm and it's a 15 minute break. Then 2 hours pass by its now 7:00pm that's when I take a 30 minute lunch break or an hour lunch break. I recommend taking a 30 minute lunch break because you'll make more money than if you take an hour. Don't overwork yourself. I chill all the time just dont overdo it and if you do dont get caught. I wear earphones (I DONT RECOMMEND) and I grab a ton of carts (I DONT RECOMMEND) I've had alot of complaints from team leads telling me to get only 20 carts each time but I still go over the limit everytime.
Also it's HORRIBLE when it's winter. It was literally pouring snow a few weeks/month ago it was snowing so bad that we could NOT use the machines the machines would get stuck in the snow, tried to get it unstuck my hands were freezing, lips freezing, face freezing, and we had to HAND PUSH all day.
If there is more than 2 people outside with you, the job is cakewalk. Now if you are by yourself, its a bitch. They use to have me do this shit as a cashier because everybody was quitting every other week. Also, they be wanting us to do carts and pick up trash at the same damn time even when its just one person outside. They treat cart pushers at my job like shit. I really do feel sorry for anyone that does this job at my store.
I'm a Fortinos cart guy. Usually we just push carts and get baskets from the cash registers back to either of the two store entrances. On late/closing shifts, we get the garbage from the cashiers garbage bins and collect their mats.
I frankly do not give a s***, but if you were to work from 9:30 till 4:00 then you would only get a half hour lunch, not an hour. I used to work at Walmart for 4 years and I would always take long ass lunches just as long as I got the job done at the end of the day no one cared.
@@John_doe627 My store was massive. They were just lazy and encouraged to be lazy. They would often run out of carts and the managers hunt down random people to go get them because the pushers didn't want to.
