forrealy though. especially if you push 15 or 20 at a time. which is not what ur supposed to do i know but its easier for me to do more tbh and i like it better. free exercise and not too bad money
Tro0t my store had a 10 cart limit and 15 with the machine, then they had to nerve to yell at me because i cant keep up with how many people are coming so i start pushing 20-25 and they yell at me for going over 10. Smh 🤦♂️
Hi everyone! I'm a girl cart pusher here lol!!! I have a question for you all. I work at a large grocery store, which also has a very large parking lot. I don't understand why they only have me out there pushing all of the carts?? I haven't been yelled at for being a bit slow, but it's pretty hard for me. It would make much more sense, if they had two people pushing carts. Do you all work alone pushing carts, or do you have someone else with you? I've had 1 or 2 people come out to help me before though, but those times it was super rare.

I've been a cart-pusher for 5 months going on my 6 months and oh boy is it a busy position to be in but the best part about being in that position is that no one bothers you and you have a higher possible chance of being promoted. (depends on how good you work outside and that the lot is always clean) my Walmart holds 6 rows and 100 carts each row. Busy Walmart where I work at and we hardly have any carts inside when it comes to holidays.

Edit: Had a rude lady walk right in front of me when i had the rightaway while i was pushing 8 carts. Then she had the audacity to be like "i thought customers were priority here" when she clearly barged right in front of me as i was about to put the carts back. smh people these days man.

it must be nice to work at a small Walmart, my bay holds 6 rows of 80 each and they'll all be gone within 1 hour. I can also relate to a lot of stuff in this video
I work at Kroger that from the info you’ve provided is just as busy we have maybe 200 regular carts and 100 small carts and we somehow have to keep the lobbies full

I pushed carts full time for two years, got into it with a customer in September 2017 and left, and now I have returned to do it full time again. I'm a master at it with or without the machine. Our machine broke the first time I worked there and our current one which was brand new just broke again. The wheel got rough and now it just won't turn on probably from being rattled around by the bad wheel. I have always loved it and am a professional at it.
Electric carts are the best part of the job lol so satisfying to spot one and bring it in

Hey thanks for the vid ..I Did this depressing job for 6 months full time at a very busy tesco store in Handforth dean wilmslow Manchester UK 2018.. it was never ending always on the go not only having to strap up 10 trollies a go pushing them to located bays.. The lads were trained on quick carts . Just when you think your done having to start all over again.also being moniterd on the camera from my managers office incase we wanted a short breath. Then get bollocked for it..we were provided a radio with earphones so the manager Lee could speak when needed...
The job was very regimental strick rules were put into place we wasn't allowed to wander into the other 4 locations in the car park as we were given sections at the beginning of the shift... Couldn't do it anymore so I left it..
I do this job too I love the electric cart too. So, relaxing for 80 seconds when your feet hurt

I work for a grocery store called Jewel Osco, and I remember doing carts when I first started out. We don’t have one of those machines. We have straps that we put on the carts to haul them in. It’s a lot of fun in the winter.

I worked for 8hrs and my feet are SORE as hell. We don’t have a machine, and the carts on my store (Canadian Tire) are trash so they keep getting stuck. But i did burned a heck ton of calories. I looked a lot leaner. I’m 17 male, the manager saw how fit i am and just hired me on the spot, no interview needed 😂
Getting those electric carts are by far the best part of the job. Also, I hit cars like 3 times and never got fired when I worked, management don't give a fuck lol
I’m a cart pusher from western New York, the store I work at is in the center of a small county so we get crazy busy! Cart corrals get so full that they pour out into other parking spaces, it’s a very easy looking job but man it’s difficult! Carry out after carry out, bottle return room, propane exchanges, all sorts of craziness
An Understaffed Store I'm guessing..? The store that I work at feels like A never-ending losing battle. Can Never get caught up. 2 steps forward, and then immediately, 3 steps backward.

Don't fall for it you poor soul, this is easily the worst job in the store it's a terribly underappreciated job, and customers are jerks thinking they're better because they have a better job than being a cartpusher, only thing good about it is good hours I normally work 35-40 hours

I used to push 20 from the rear and lift and spin them on a dime. We had to take them inside through a single wide door then a quick 15 deg left turn and quick 15 deg to the right back to straight. Then moved them down to others and push them in row.

Enjoyed watching your videos, great sense of humor! It is a workout, especially in a parking lot is not even and have to push carts up hill. Please, people drove slow in parking lost, many close calls. FYI people shopping carts are not garbage bins. Kind regards.

Only 11 carts in a row? Our biggest garage takes 6 rows with 50 carts in each row. Our smallest is 3 rows with about 25 carts. I'm pretty jealous of your store.
This is the most counterproductive job ever. Why not make people put in a quarter before taking out a cart like aldi does. That’ll make people bring the carts back INSIDE the store and not leave it out and have you on a wild goose chase to bring them back only to have them get taken out again. It’s a never ending cycle.
It is because ‘not’ requiring a 25 cent deposit for a shopping cart is the ‘norm’.
Other than Aldi, I cannot think of a single retailer that does this.
Don’t single out Walmart (or any other retailer) for failing to follow Aldi’s lead.
Because Walmart knows that they can sell more products and just pay someone to gather the carts later.
The Aldi 25 cent cart charge isn’t really a charge but a deposit, so you get your money back later, but still really inconvenient, especially when Aldi already makes you bring your own bags to the store.

I just got hired as a cart pusher just need to fill out the background check and go to orientation, and I'm really ducking nervous so seeing that this job is so simple is really calming my nerves. Hopefully I'll be to do my job well (I'm a 18yr old female, so not alot of upper body strength), So Thank You
Where I work they won’t hire females they get the guys to do it. Not that a girl can’t do this job lol. If your place in anything like mine they will let you choose your own breaks and won’t even keep track of them either. Every 15 minute break I take I always be pushing it to like 30 lol. Theirs always another cart guy on though and they never bother you that much. I’ll also take smoke breaks every once in a while with my buddy it’s pretty chill. Depending on how much you’re pushing it can get exhausting if you keep going 100 so try not to burn yourself out. If your place has a machine for the karts it won’t be bad but mine doesn’t so that’s why I can tire myself out if I go too hard, which is my own fault. If they got you on just carts try to get them to train you on cash later on. You can then take peoples shifts that are on cash and sub in if needed. I work like half carts half cash because of that. We work without a machine at Mariano’s. Me and two other guys just pushed in 51 of our big carts at once, 103 of our small ones at once, and 30 metal ones at once (they’re not as many of these). It was 94 in Chicago today too. I kinda prefer working in this heat though.
Hey I'm a cart pusher but for Home Depot!! We do a bit more than pushing carts though we have to load heavy merchandise into customers vehicles and sometimes flag for a forklift driver.

We only have 1 good machine and the other one has a bad axel and there's 2 other that hasn't been fix in like a year. so yeah total crazinesss with this Vlrus

I work as a Cart Pusher at WalMart in PA, strange how your listening to music, we have had guys get fired for doing that and also being on your phone/camera for recording is also an offense that can get you written up at our store, good luck

i just started as a cart pusher but at wegmans and ive almost got hit by cars multiple times and been honked at before when i was struggling with pushing 10 plus carts but im improving and can push at least 20 carts without struggling

Our cart pushers would call out on the big snowstorms so then the overnight sift would get sent out after first break (12 am) to round everything up.Parking lot not plowed out yet and get to spend the rest of your shift in wet clothes.

This actually helps it may be a year already but I’m working at woodmans and I start next weekend and this helps to see if this can be a good job for me and what I’m supposed to do

Wow there is like no room for all the carts when you push them inside. We can fit up to at least 50 carts if not 60 in our store and that's on both sides.

I work as a cart pusher central wisconsin. We have little carts. I had about 50 of them before I went to my 15 minute break when I came back, there were 10 little carts. I agree with you on electric carts lol

Where I live the ground is treagted with gravel to prevent people from falling on slippery ice. Those small stones make pushing incredibly hard.

Not going to lie, I really envy you guys for having a simple cart attendant job while I currently stuck with one at Target that has me doing a lot of bullshit multi-task that has nothing to do with cart attendant job. Plus the mid shift cart attendant only applies on weekends.

If I were younger I would totally do this position, great exercise, strength building, and NO one seems to bother you,
Picking up trash would be a close second... There's a respect that almost everyone has for trash pickers.... They rarely get bothered by society and I truly love that.

Woah your bays short our grocery bay holds 4 lines of 60 carts
Our holds 6-7 rows of at least 80 ):
Our Grocery Bay holds 3 rows of 50 carts and our GM bay hold 5 rows of 30 carts and Lawn and Garden is a corral chopped in half it holds 20 cars in total
