From my Texan perspective, Texas has cheep houses because of low wages and how much land we have, making a big house dirt cheep. KEEP IN MIND we also have high property taxes but no income tax. Weather wise depending on how far south ya live it’s HOT as 💩 and hurricanes are also a problem. Also keep in mind we’re one of the worst states to get healthcare big issue with Medicare. We like guns and open carry is Legal here.Big issue is the confederate flags so don’t be shocked if you see any. That’s all the cons I can think of...Yall can respond with more or hype up Texas idc

annnndd the houses are made very cheap with low grade materials. Most of texas isn't urban and everyone lives rural. I commute 2 hrs for work daily because I couldn't afford to live in Austin anymore because the pay doesn't match the cost of living. There are beautiful parts but I do have to plan and take road trips..I'm central and it's hot as helllllllllllll lol

No everyone is moving here lol. The prices keep rising. But I am a Texan born and bred. I’m from the Dallas area so the closer you live towards Dallas the more expensive. And the outskirts the more you can get for your buck. We are friendly here. We are respectful. Say yes ma’am and yes sir. Our bbq is bomb. Tex mex supreme. We have torchy tacos 🤤. We appreciate southern values so as long as people don’t bring rudeness and tend be more conservative you’re good.

shes from Canada, shes not allowed to pick up and just move or else everyone who wanted to do that would. Legally she has to apply for one of many different visas and they don't just give visas because someone wants to move. The only way she could legally move without a visa if she won the immigration lottery

I'm born and raised in TX and it's awesome...hot! But awesome. Cost of living is cheaper and we have more land for homes. Texans are very proud of our state so no haters allowed 🤣😂... honestly, TX is a big jump from Canada so you may feel better in west coast states...a little more fancy 🤷 best of luck with all your future plans 🤗

I’ve grown up in cali but recently moved to San Antonio and I can say it’s very different. The vibe here is way more chill but there are some places that remind me of LA that aren’t too far away from where I live. You should definitely look into moving here, the houses are way cheap here too! Welcome to Texas!💕💕

I’m originally from Chicago, have lived in Northern Cali and Southern Cali, AZ and now Austin, TX. My experience has been great with people here and diversity. But Austin is very liberal compared to other parts in TX. It’s also super hot & humid which then brings on the BUGS. Not a fan of that part, haha. In general, I’ve learned that I prefer the dryer climate in AZ (which also has a good cost of living).

I moved to Texas from Cali about 2 yrs ago and I am so glad I did. We bought a 6 bedroom house with a 3 car garage, huge pool and an awesome backyard for less than a three bedroom condo we sold in San Diego. No I don’t live in the boonies either. I’m about 20-25 min from downtown Houston. Yes, it is a red state but that’s why Texas is beautiful😊.

Texas is WONDERFUL! It is less expensive because of the sheer amount of land there is. You can get the fun, LA/Nashville vibe in Austin, the NYC vibe in Houston, the beach/island vibe in Corpus Christi or Padre Island, and the Hallmark/Country life in the small towns outside of these bigger cities like Fredricksburg.
Also, southern hospitality is (mostly) real so come down and enjoy the kindness.

My husband and I moved to Dallas, Texas from the Beautiful Island of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean 2 1/2 years ago and we love it here. The only thing we are not used to is the over 100 degree heat with no breeze, and the crazy and bipolar weather during the fall and spring seasons that you wake up to 20 degree cold and have to wear a coat then by mid day its about 70 degrees and you are walking around with a coat you don't need anymore. Other than that, its awesome.

I love Texas! I miss it SO much! (Were military) I’m biased because I was born and raised in San Antonio! Its really simple, Texas is Huge! There’s a lot of land, I would recommend the bigger cities there if you want to be easy access to modern day life just because believe it or not there is still towns there that are very conservative, ride around on your horse kinda towns.. lol. Dallas/Fort Worth area is nice, I’d stay away from Houston area.. it’s nice to visit but city isn’t as clean/ kept up with.. San Antonio and Austin are really cool cities, lots to do and explore! Traffic is awful! But worth it, out skirt cities are a good option too, far enough to be away from traffic but close enough to drive into town! Cibilo, Schertz, Seguin, New Braunfels are good little cities! Have fun house hunting! Feel free to ask any questions.

LOL cracked me up. I moved to Texas from NY. The cost of living here is much less. My fiancé and I built a house from the ground up, and customized everything. We paid less than half of what we would have if we had purchased in NY. It’s crazy. People are definitely moving here. Texas is growing and developing everyday.

Hey ❤️ home depot’s founder donated 7mil to Tr*mp. Lowe’s donated 25mil to help minority owned businesses. Or you can shop Canadian/small businesses 😊
Also people don’t want to live in TX because there’s rattlesnakes and scorpions. And it’s super hot and dry. And tornadoes/hurricanes. And it’s a red state unless you’re in Austin.

    • @Journeylivin
      @Journeylivin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I am A Texan and I have never seen a rattlesnake where I lived. Scorpions are more in country areas as well. You’re not gonna see that I suburbs and cities. It’s the opposite of dry here. It’s humid. Just wondering have you been here? Yes people are more conservative. Which I am as well. Yeah there’s tornados but never been affected by one. Pretty much everywhere in the United States has something. California has fires and droughts. Hurricanes are more at the coast of Texas. I’m from the Dfw area so doesn’t affect us.

Honestly, those huge nice houses for affordable prices are at least an hour if not more outside of big cities. Texas is HUGE so all the middle land between the few big cities, is extremely affordable. You could still be in a decently sized city that’s nice, but over an hour from main cities like Dallas Houston Austin etc!! I live in Houston and looking to buy remotely close to the loop, especially something upgraded and bigger, is easy pease over have a mil haha.

I live in West Texas and I love it, there is a lot of land here in Texas so that is probably why but that also makes for a lot of opportunities. I live in a nice little city where its small enough to where we do not have long traffic jams but big enough to have a variety of things to do here and to have a variety of nice restaurants. My only complaint would be the wind and the dirt that flies around sometimes, I've been in hotter places though. Absolutely love living here in Texas.

Regarding the nobody wanting to live in Texas. I think it depends on who you ask. I’ve had several friends move there and they absolutely love it! I’ve actually never meet someone who lived there/moved there/from there who hated it. I think it’s cheap because there’s so much land! So much space to build so there’s no housing shortage based on limited space to build homes.

Hi!! I was born and raised in Texas and there is no place like Texas. House are cheap and great, come with lots of land, the only issue is that it’s HOT HOT. It’s so hot you go outside and get mad. Houses are cheap because minimum wage is 7.25. Living in Texas has its perks though, you get nice rivers (San Marcos), you can go eat by the beach (Galveston) although i don’t recommend getting in that water. I live in Houston, personally love it but traffic is not the best. Overall it’s nice to live in.

People do like Texas. I visited there last year and the only thing I hated about is was how spread out everything is. It took an hour to get from the airport to a hotel in Austin I was staying at.

TX and TN offer huge houses for pennies on the dollar. They both, along with 7 other states dont tax wages. happy hunting and love from new orleans, la xoxo

I was raised in Dallas Tx and love it so so much! I moved to Southern California when I got married and don’t really like it... it’s so expensive! Can’t wait to move back to Texas next year 🤗 but honestly look at Dallas it’s so freaking nice!

The cost of living in Texas is cheaper! Meaning smaller pay in your wages, house’s, gas, etc
