with that many rats I think it's time to set up one of your multi trap box things OR get yourself an air rifle with nightscope. You're going to be over run in no time with that many around.

Great video as allways, but that many rats in the barn got me thining and I do wonder if the good old Ulik repeater would still, or maybe even again work on them?

I mean, yeah, for a Russian-American shipment that's pretty good delivery time. Were you expecting it to be 3 days? Aliexpress deliveries from China to most places in the world, including Russia, take a similar amount of time.
Due to the coof nonsense, it seems like international packages are taking forever these days. It's because airmail is put in the cargo hold of passenger planes, and there are a lot fewer overseas flights right now because of coof mania. Last year, I ordered a package from Germany. It took five weeks to arrive here. In the past, a package sent from Germany to the US would take only about ten days. So, two months for package from Russia isn't too bad.

Yeah, I saw no indication at all of the skunk tugging at a trapped rat, let alone pulling it out of the box. And if he had eaten it in-place, wouldn’t it have left a bloody mess behind? That empty trap was perfectly pristine. A rat tripped it and skedaddled, plain and simple.

I laughed hysterically at the toy rat's expression as you were demonstrating the kill box (the rat looked cross-eyed at the camera). And then when you mauled the toy rat with the box, it was doubly funny for some reason.

I don't think it caught the rat ... There was a rat tail sticking out when it entered .. should have been able to see that tail after the rat got killed. The skunk just ate the rat bait. Saying you have a 'rat problem' is something of an understatement!

I set the playback to .25 and saw the rat pulled back far enough to get clear of the trap before it went off, it then jumped in fright and ran away, so you're right about there being a design flaw.
Sadly, the other rats and skunk only got to feed on the grain etc, not dead rat
The skunk was a bonus, I was waiting for it to take off with your rat and the trap, but instead it stayed for supper with a few seeds for dessert. You sure have a lot of rats. Too bad you don't live closer to Joseph Carter, his mink and dogs would have a hey day in your barn.
Since the trigger catch is just a wire, I bet you could bend a new one that sets the bait farther back, thus making a clean kill more likely. Might be worth revisiting in the future.

I saw a rat trap in New Zealand that was all metal like this one, but the kill bar pushed the rat onto a row of half inch high saw blade like, teeth!! apparently polynesian bush rats are tough. :-))

Sean- I saw that rat that tripped the trap run out. It looked like the kill bar loop impacted the top slowing it and that rat ran out. So there was no rat in the trap for the skunk to devour.

Put some pointy nails in roof of that cage and when a rat jumps up, it gets a spike in the head. Extra damage if the nail has a barb like a fishhook and rat tries to pull away.

After seeing how they lost all caution after the trap went off, it makes me think you could make a really effective rat trap if you design one that has a false trigger that tricks them into thinking it's gone off and is safe now so they stop being cautious
