Yes. The world is sick. I say that with empathy.. I have been fortunate to heal enough to see it. Up to us to spread the good word! Blast it out whenever you can!
The rise of social media means everyone is always trying to front so hard, so they listen to young black men rapidly brag about their street credibility and the women they disregard after coitus. And you all cheer it so you don't look old. You fucking know you do. Then you whine that noone writes music anymore
Not one of my favorite songs by OLP, but I still consider them one of the most underrated bands of the '90s. Clumsy is a top 5 album of the decade for me.
I liked this song when I was a teenager. I didn't realize I'd rediscover it as a jaded adult and have it punch me in the stomach with its significance.
Same, though my brother loved Our lady peace and I was an Offspring fan looking back now I was in great shape. Now I'm a disabled vet and starting life all over again, the song fits the mood for sure and it's totally a gut shot with much more relivence at 32 then when I was 15 lol
Totally agree! They don’t get brought up in the 90’s /00’s rock conversation enough. Catching the video for Clumsy on 120 Minutes made me a lifelong OLP fan.
@Our Lady Peace your songs have helped me get through so many hard times like depression, my mother's passing and so much more. As I'm only 12, and I never tell my dad anything that puts me down, I thought I would never get better. But our lady peace your songs like: Clumsy; Thief, Life, and Innocent have helped me get through so much. Thankyou
Maybe you are not a believer but I pray for your healing dear. Used to listen to these songs and they helped me through some hard times as well some 20 years ago.
My mom passed away when I was 15, Our Lady Peace was definitely an oasis for me when I was in high school. As you get older, you uncover more and more ways that your mom is always with you. #quantumentanglement. Hope all is well.
This song got me through countless nights as a teenager, just hanging by a thread, lost and confused by a world that hurt so much. I’d listen to this on repeat and cry and wonder how Raine knew my soul so well. This song ripped me open in the best way and then healed me in just over four minutes.
Fitting song for 2020. "Oh, life is waiting for you It’s all messed up, but we're alive Oh, life is waiting for you It’s all messed up, but we'll survive"
Raine Maida...my first serious celebrity crush. OLP carried me through junior high and into the scary world of highschool. I always return to their music in tough times. I hate how underrated they have always been. They will always be my favorite band!
They just don't make songs like this anymore! This song in particular has always been a favorite and I swear talks about me at times. Amazing every time I hear it.
im Australian, lived in Toronto in the 90's. our lady peace shaped my life. just stumbled on this song. these guys are awesome. miss Canada so much. Australia and Canada are so similar and yet so different.!!!!
Who’s listening to this in 2023!?!?!?!? Was watching The Teal World season 12 and they played it and just had to come listen!!!!!! Nostalgia at its finest!
i saw this video on much music back in 2005 where they were playing all our lady peace videos from i think starseed superman's dead and stuff like that
A time capsule I made when I was 6 said this was my favorite song It’s weird looking at all the serious depressed comments, knowing this was the happiest bop in my little life.
I love Our Lady Peace, when I talk about them my friends say "who?" or don't even listen no matter how many times I try to get them to listen. They talk about MCR taking away so much pain but I swear this band... it is amazing... and not many people know about them so it is like it is my own personal band.
Worked security at a Guns and Roses concert in Regina, SK. and these guys opened up for them - I remember hearing all their songs and almost tearing up, This band helped me through alot of hard times.
In addition to the Chinese symbols at the beginning, 3:40 shows dragons passing through the screen.. This video was made in 2000 (Year of the Dragon). 2024: Year of the Dragon once again.
I grew up listening to our lady peace, green day and sun 41 cds of my fathers… now as a 20 yr old alone recovering addict I can say this is my favourite band

Yes, I'm Canadian😇. This song brings tears to my eyes👁👁😢for many reasons. The 90s & early 2000s were happier times for this country, and it never was due to politics. We just loved our Canadian musicians, and the music was indeed a great unifier
When I graduated from high school, I quoted this song in my bio. It was a bit corny even for the time, but I think it reflects how strong the message in this song is :)
well at least they'll be able to go back and remember the song then haha. Better than some random self obsessed comment about themselves that you forget 10 seconds later.
revaholic My wife and her boyfriend at the time did U2 quotes. That was where they were at the time and it's a great reference point. Own it! Love it! It's a great band to quote.
@@bigbirdbigbird I think it was "Life is waiting for you, it's all messed up but we'll survive". It's such a simple message but for an angsty kid who had issues at home, so powerful. And so applicable even decades later. Makes me a bit emotional just hearing that phrase sung again
one of Canada's Finest... but, sadly... underrated. I love this song, I am at awe. especially with the baseline on the bridge part. I had bassline melody goosebumps.
This was my "go to" Song when I was facing hard times. And there were alot more hard times then normal in my life caused by family. I thank you Our Lady Peace!
This song does not get the live versions that it deserves. It's always a mini throw in with other songs and in my opinion should be played in full more than it is.
I love this band, and especially this song. It's helped me find peace with with decades long health conditions. I'm not perfect, but I'm still wonderful and do the best I can for others.

alter bridge and olp are the most underrated brand..they didn't get worldwide recognition which they deserved..

To this day it still amazes me how he had one of the best voices in the industry yet they never really got the airplay they deserved.
They were pretty big in Canada.
He has a ‘voice’ in which he shoves his throat voice upwards into nasal voice/tone. Very unattractive vocally, not a skilled singer at all.
I just introduced a seventeen year old to OLP, I'm so proud.
Listen to the new song, it is awesome

Spiritual Machines is easily one of the best rock albums of the 90's (early 00's). It is OLP's masterpiece.
Great album!!

i think one of the best things about OLP is the fact that they let you know , that when you feel at your lowest , your not alone.
