First time I heard this great song was at the end of an X-files episode (demon mom and her demon baby). Weird one! But Shirley Manson *rocked* the role of Terminator in the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
@Molly333 they were a very typical 90s alt rock band with quite a few hits, no more no less. It all comes down to liking or not that genre. It's not my personal favorite but I do kinda like it and it's part of my teenage years so I look at it through nostalgia glasses.

CDs were for the rich. We poor guys listened to pirated cassettes, or recorded our own "playlists" from the radio. It was inevitable that the announcer's voice would be heard at the beginning, at the end, and in the middle of the song. The bastards did it on purpose.
@@tyapka Overuse of the word "underrated", the new bad habit of YT's comment sections. Every single 90's music video there's someone using the word totally out of context.
One of the reasons why after so many years I am still making music it's surely because of you Garbage.....you drew that wonderful 90's cross-over electro-pop-rock line I have never turned back or looked ahead from..... after so many years you still give me the same exact emotions as when I first started listening to your music....from day one!!.....Love you Garbage and thank you.
I'm not sure what I love more... her Mimi blue eye shadow, knee high combat boots or the fact this song screams 90's, but it all comes together quite beautifully.
What puts this song over the top artistically is the chorus. When she starts singing "Poooooour your misery down on me," it almost feels as if it's literally raining rock n' roll. Perfect execution from Shirley Manson.
Idk maybe, but her other song bleed like me to me just says that maybe she is singing for people who battle depression, self hate, low self-esteem and the like, some of her music is just dark in general and tbh people don't chose depression as a life style, and if they do that is absurd lol depression is not fun and it has a lot to do with how the brain functions, not enough serotonin being produced and the like :b
Yeah I know once I was listening to a song not this song but a late 90s song yeah I put my earphones up to full because the song sounded so good I could handle the volume because the song sounded so good I think my earphones were gonna break that's how loud it was I think I'm pretty sure

For me, she's one of the most beautiful woman I ever seen... Just perfect. I have no other words.
DITTO 💯🤘
Thats my gf u son of a bitch!
Love this '90's Garbage, all their stuff, in fact, from any decade.
This is such a great. And Butch Vig’s production!!!
I cant talk about, or think about, just how much this music makes living a little better
I've been a fan of Garbage ever since this album came out and I was 12 at the time. Shirley was one of my idols during my teens years!
Garbage is sooo missed. This band got me through the the tough junior high school years. Miss their originality and her fabulous beauty xxoo
They're still around and touring! Follow them on Instagram. Shirley posts regularly 😊
I saw them on halftime of a Monday Night Football game.
same!!
Love the energy and angst of this song. The way these folks whipped this song up out of nothingness is amazing.
Me ENCANTA que sigan vigentes Garbage; que canciones que nos han dado señores; que alineación.
¡Los esperamos en Bogotá! ♥️🍷🔥
One of the most unappreciated rock bands of its era!
Only stupid People not aprecciated this jewel
As someone who was a really unhappy teenager, this song really spoke to me.
One of the very best women of Rock, both in vocal skills and pure sexuality. Perfect!
This song is a classic 90´s hit. I love the song, the lyrics and the video too. Garbage rocks!
Anyone who has lived through the 90's has a bit of garbage in there heart.
Me
I have the entire dumpster.
Definitely!
Shirley Manson had sex appeal.
👍😘
I'm still here in 2024 and never tired. Everytime I listen to Garbage, it reminds me my my 90s childhood. W 90''s and its music!!!
Totally!!
I never left.
I left but I’m BACK
L😊@@AllenLee11
Same here. We were spoiled with the best music.
Great tune ❤ Shirley sure is beautiful 😍
90's as fuck.
She's a "Manson".
This might be THE anthem of 90s rock
@@vincentgirardi401 That's "Garbage".
Truth.
This song is PHAT
I'LL NEVER FORGET THE FIRST TIME I SAW THIS ON MTV. COULDNT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT...
WE USED TO BUY CDS BACK THAN AT 1995 ...
GOD I MISS THOSE TIMES
You can still buy cds?
CDs were for the rich. We poor guys listened to pirated cassettes, or recorded our own "playlists" from the radio. It was inevitable that the announcer's voice would be heard at the beginning, at the end, and in the middle of the song. The bastards did it on purpose.
@@RodrigoFernandez-td9uk ok why did you say ‘we used to but cds back then’ then
@@tomato444 I didn't, read again.
lol, i still buy cds to listen to in my vehicle cuz the radio Sux!
Scottish brilliance!!!!! Without rain we'd all would be dyin'
Heard this on the radio yesterday and brought me back to my youth and the great music of the 90s
Just saw them last night and I Must say a quarter of a century + later they still kill it on stage, Took me back to the mtv music awards In 1996.
Plus, she's still hot!
I watched her on June 10th, and then immediately went to go buy their merch as my first ever band tee.
Two decades later, still enjoying this powerful rock music.
Andy Szwejda amen
Yes...it is a rock song...I love heavy rock...but love this.
Even after 25 years, love this song, brings back memories, greetings to my 90’s teens ❤️
It's raining here in Durham NC Sunday 12-10-23 as I play this on my smartphone & never felt better😌.
This is the only song I know that tells the way I feel about being sad. I feel so identified. Love it.
One of the best underrated bands to come out of the early 90s.
Mid
Underrated? Where does that come from? In my country it was mega popular.
Bush was one of the worst
@@tyapka Overuse of the word "underrated", the new bad habit of YT's comment sections. Every single 90's music video there's someone using the word totally out of context.
hear about "underrated" all the time, but it's the radio stations who refuse to play these groups and songs...
I had the privilege of seeing one of her shows. It was amazing!
I'm not sure what I love more... her Mimi blue eye shadow, knee high combat boots or the fact this song screams 90's, but it all comes together quite beautifully.
*_I'm only happy when this plays_*
A+ On this comment.
I'm only happy when this plays on Captain Marvel
I'm only happy when it plays
I'm only happy when it plays/I'm only happy with the 90's music/and even though my friends don't listen to it/I'm only happy when it plays
@@RobertSilva-bz2tl Best comment ever!
So many years and I still love this song and how it just seems like at the time the entire band felt what was in my head and put it to words.
CAN ' T BELIEVE HOW LONG AGO THIS WAS ?!! THE 90's WERE MY FAVORITE DECADE !!! 🩷✌️🩷
What puts this song over the top artistically is the chorus. When she starts singing "Poooooour your misery down on me," it almost feels as if it's literally raining rock n' roll. Perfect execution from Shirley Manson.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I'm a sucker for a good chorus!!
are you a Poet?? 🖒
Minacious
Oh yeah you nailed it. That voice!!!! Makes me happy even when it rains.
With her being from Scotland where it rains all the fucking time she must have been pretty happy most days
Hahaha this comment got me! So many serious comments then this 🤣🤣🤣
We get hail and snow too.
@@schopen-hauer haha!
indeed
😂😂😂 classic
I'm only happy when it rains :) and for some reason I understand clearly where she is coming from
Ive always got it if u don't get it you can appreciate it
Hi Amy this is another Amy whom loves Garbage....
Lolol hi, :)
Okay lol
So many years have passed and I have yet to hear anything that sounds as dirty - but still right - as this chorus...
When this song comes on, I blast it as loud as it can! Love this song!
Yeah I know once I was listening to a song not this song but a late 90s song yeah I put my earphones up to full because the song sounded so good I could handle the volume because the song sounded so good I think my earphones were gonna break that's how loud it was I think I'm pretty sure
This band is seriously underappreciated!
Not in the 90s!
Not really
No...this band is, .... wait for it ...
GARBAGE!
Im only happy when i see Garbage´s videos :)
Blasting this now and wow, again I remember how glorious Garbage was and still is.
