Just on the battery life for the flex, I’ve charged mine with a power meter attached to the charger. The flex keeps charging after the light indicates “100%”. After that initial 100% is reached it keeps charging to balance the cells and the rate of charge progressively slows. But it continues to charge for about another hour. Letting this happen seems to add another 90 min to two hours usage (from totally full to flat)
@@Tiralful the post also says "that's the only thing new in the 2nd gen" which is why I said the Bluetooth bit. The EQ is not the only new thing. It also has a new DAC and sound signature
I have both the first and second gen speakers. The biggest improvement for me is TWS. The PG flexes don't really do stereo well. I think it's Boses own attempt at making it work. The second gen ones with 5.3 and a much better chipset do stereo perfectly. It's far superior and simpler to set up vs the originals. The sound quality has been refined quite a bit on the new ones too. The bass is tighter, the mids a little warmer and the treble is much smoother. I found the treble on the original quite "crunchy" sometimes. The 2nd gen are perfect.
I actually considered the Marshall Emberton 3 because of the battery, but the sound alone is the one that is more important to me, that’s why i ended up buying the Flex, and a small power bank solves the issue for me. Hahaha.
I bought one today at $149AUD ($95USD)Perth Airport. The first notice is the weight , it's hefty and impressive. It's probably because I nabbed it so cheap but it's a great speaker. Your vid helped. 👍👃
Does the Flex 2 still have position IQ? I have the Flex 1 and there is a noticeable treble boost (brighter sound) when the speaker is placed on its back firing up or tilted at an angle (basically not upright). It’s how I prefer the sound.
I got a question for my Bose community I have a sound like gen1 and I need help My charging port doesn't work / broken should I try to fix it myself for it or send it in to be fixed
I have both. G1 dan G2. Without EQ (the G2) they sound a little different. U may not be able to know the diff from this video. But i can tell g2 has a better music seperation, a little less warmer, bass more controlled, highs sound like extended a bit more, bass a little tighter, so all these little bit, will give u a better sound overall! Better clarity, better vocal, better life-like instruments, the sound is more accurate to my ears, unlike the g1 which i dont like that much bcause the bass is too loose somehow, too warm to listen, and the vocal a little muddy sometimes because covered by bass. They fixed all that in G2. And for me, G2 is PERFECT! And if i EQ my G2…i can even make the sound BETTER! 😮 i think this time Bose has a very special BT speaker!
The first-generation SoundLink Flex is a notable upgrade over the older SoundLink Mini, which I still use. In terms of ruggedness, the Flex is nearly unmatched. However, as a long-time Bose fan, I find myself wishing it had a bit more aesthetic appeal, I just don't like the look of the Flex. The new SoundLink Home, on the other hand, seems to raise the bar in design and could very well be the natural successor to the original, non-ruggedized SoundLink Mini. I didn't even think about that possibility since i used a bose revolve 2 via usb-c exclusively before. Sadly it died just last week. Somebody got any suggestions for bluetooth speakers, that also work with usb input? I loved the quality of the bose revolve 2 and don't want to make a step down in quality though.
Phenomenal speaker, sound quality is amazing in this class of Bluetooth speakers... JBL is nothing to look for...

Funny how this video (or even channel?) is about sound but the video itself sounds really bad. Or is it just me? (listened through a MacBook Pro speaker)
Soundcore Motion 300 for $59 is a better deal vs $149
Prefer the Bose ever so slightly, soundcore is decent. Bose has more bass but soundcore has more volume
China Sound? No way!
Battery life is a major deal killer. No thanks. Marshal for me.
the new flux sucks because its not compatible to the other soundlink family products (execpt Soundlink Max).
The original experience with the old app was garbage. Having AptX is great too.
Marantz Horizons next please? Thank you.
nothing 2a is not a sanpdragon phone😂😂😂
I still like the Beats Pill more
It's worse than the flex.
Beats Pill is hot trash once you pass 50% volume. This has been universally noted in tests.
@@shoerice5083that's a lie and I've owned both. The Beats Pill looks better and gets DOUBLE the battery life
@@dr150 that’s why I said ‘I like it’ 😂
In the big picture, it’s still a mono speaker…at least the emberton has multiple speaker configuration
Both are old. Ads are horrendous. Ty
Wow 2024 and BOSE finally give us an EQ...woop-dee-doo thanks guys. They lost me as a customer almost 3 years ago when the Gen 1 was released with basically zero features in its app, rather par for the course and pathetic from BOSE as is their usual bare bones releases. Been happy with other manufacturer's ever since. Happy not to go back to their over priced under featured attempts. Imho think they have zero respect for their customers
Wow, please tell us how you Really FEEL!! 😇
I wish i would have bought this instead of that Sonos garbage i have
Bose, Bose, Bose…..All Highs NO Lows.
How would you know?
Exactly! I love mine so much I ended up getting another one so I pair them up! Hehe
@@verynick I may get 2 myself... I already have 3 of the 1st gens... 1 still in the box 😆
Waiting for the portable speaker buying guide!🫶🏻
It’s on the way! 🔊
