I was able to switch inputs by changing the channel up one click from Channel 2 while the AV cable was plugged into the TV. Huge thanks to @RetroGamingNook for the tip!
I bet a 27" CRT was a huge deal! Hopefully you two held onto it. Crazy that people were tossing them as little as a few years ago but now they are becoming pretty sought after!
It's good to have a backup for sure! I find that free or cheap CRT TVs pop up periodically near me. Best of luck in your search and thank you so much for checking out the channel!
Free is good! My parents had a inexpensive Sharp TV way back and it looked surprisingly good. If I recall, we played Phantasy Star II completely on it back in 1990. I'll tell ya it's nice having CRTs with different looks to them. Some games just match with some TVs better. I do agree that the lack of an input button on a TV is just plain crazy.. and it happened all the time in the 90s. So, I'm guessing this Sharp's input isn't just up one click from CH 2 when an cable is plugged in.
Oh definitely! I think the fifth gen video game consoles would like right at home on a TV of this vintage. I am a total dummy and didn't realize you can change input up one click from CH 2 with the cable plugged in. It worked on this TV! Total oversight on my part; thanks for the tip!

WOW! I remember buying a 27 in T.V. like that when my wife and I got our first home. We were so cool back then. 😅

I've got a reliable old RCA from 20 or so years back but, I'm thinking I should be in the market for a backup CRT. Thanks for this.

@@retrogameattic Glad that it popped up for me. Thanks again.
