All Enemy Executions in Blasphemous I & II

- A compilation of the various executions in both Blasphemous games. I'm pretty sure this is all of them for Blasphemous 2 as most enemies use the generic execution. However, there are a few critters I couldn't get an execution prompt for (including a few enemies from the first game) due to their low HP even with all the stun boosts and minimal damage using the sword.
If I did somehow miss a unique execution for the second game do let me know! Hopefully DLC adds more unique executions to the sequel.

I like how you can notice how much anger the Penitent holds inside him just by how brutal some executions are.
Man died at least twice for our sins. "Are you fucking serious?" No one learned the lesson not to ask for punishment from above?
Proof that he was trained by Greek Kratos and/or Doom Slayer
One thing I miss from B1 in B2 is just how many unique executions there were. I understand the decision, the devs would have to make so many sprites for individual executions, especially if they involved the weapons like in B1, because then it'd be 3 unique animations per executable enemy
That's probably why so many use the generic execution.
They wouldn't really have to do that though. Just like many of the unique animations in Blasphemous & Blasphemous 2, we see the Penitent One utilize the enemies weapon as part of the animation. Also, since it appears that the Penitent One can manipulate the branches of his arm, we could've seen him make a "mea culpa blade" with his arm and mimic his forms from the first game or used them in other unique ways. Even the Penitent's very own helmet could be a weapon! They just needed to get a bit more creative.
Agreed, but it's possible that there wasn't more time to add additional unique executions. One of the DLCs for the first game added several more enemies you could execute so maybe that will be the case here.
@@CrankyTemplar Luckily for us, this seems to be the Game Kitchen's "golden child". I have no doubt that, like the first game, this game will be vastly improved by the end of its cycle, and I look forward to it.
@@CrankyTemplar yeah, I'm more glad they prioritized more important aspects before things like executions.
1:26 this is the most brutal one imo
Yeah, it feels so fucking mean lol
Bro is not in the mood
Penitent One was like: Begone thot
This character should be invited in Mortal Kombat.
This guy can’t have a moment of peace. He’s basically the unluckiest and probably angriest guy in the whole world and you can see it by how much he’s violent towards his enemies.
i wont say the "angriest", more like his "penitence"
@@Zealoth1800like are we even sure bro it's even from the order
Bro could be just a crackhead that was trying the helmet and took mea culpa I'm just saying, they supposedly killed them all
What about Crisanta though
@@nikoleg_mitrofan well, she’s also having a bad day
Not having unique executions for normal enemies was the only downgrade B2 had compared to 1
Penitent one doesn't look as cool when he's standing still as the first one so that's 2 imo
@@MK-vi2cm if I remember correctly he does. Maybe it takes more time?
@@MK-vi2cmsame :(
Also the bosses are more repetitive and less creative in b2
@@Daniel-qw8pd and easier too
I was hoping the devs could exploit the penitent's root arm even more (like adding unique moves to that arm in combat and puzzles, for example)🥰🥰🥰
The way he slammed the wheel to sever the head just to step on it is .... metal af...
First rule of fighting the Penitent One: don't use a polearm
2:54 Crisanta is like nope
btw, the 1st part had the best executions.
I wished we knew more about the Penitent One’s past like, how come he’s the only survivor of a whole massacre? And why he was chosen by the Miracle? Blasphemous is one of my favorite games and the Penitent One is one of my favorite video game characters.
i wish all the bosses had unique executions
the shocked expression on the Librarians face as he picks up his torso...
but I also like the one were he picks up that big mace and yanks it in their face

my favourite ones, they are so brutal!!!

Guys penny just had some anger therapy while he was dead
lofi beats to chill and blasphemously execute your enemies to:
I cannot appreciate this video enough and you even went to the lengths to zoom in for us to see it better thank you
*sigh* Brutal satisfaction. I hate those golden mask swordsman guy in Blasphemous 2. Executing them is like breath of fresh air in the early morning on New years day.
Blasphemous 1 Execution is the Beast. Let see Blasphemous II DLC Execution.
Why do i get the feel that in blasphemous 2 executions are less gory? It's like taking 50% of the fun out of it
this studio sure is diligent
Something I'm realizing now is that even though I think the executions in B1 were generally cooler and more diverse, they were also a lot longer. The executions in B2 don't look as cool but they keep the game flowing a lot better. Just watching the montage I'd prefer B1, but I think actually playing the game I would end up preferring B2 if I played them back to back.
Summa Blasphemia. Nuff said.
I like Blasphemous 2, I really do. But damn did the cut a lot on the gore department. The change from most enemies have unique animations to sharing one is specially hurtful.
Honestly I kinda expected executions for all bosses and enemies in blasphemous II, oh well I still have my hopes high for The Last Faith
I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I prefer 2's executions. Even the generic thorn ones. It just feels snappier and more efficient than 1's which sometimes feel a second too long and like they're trying to be gross like a Mortal Kombat fatality (which I personally don't care for). As for the thorn executions, I like them in the same way I like Bloodborne's visceral attack. It ain't flashy but it's quick and it feels good every time.
Peak brutality
to be honest i was hoping blasphemous 2 to be more brutal and lots of executions cuz of variant weapon than B1 but it turns out blasphemous 2 is ok unlike B1 was way more badass brutal execution..
More executions were added to B1 with DLC so maybe that'll happen for the sequel.
…Huh, that reminds me, why *is* the Penitent One’s arm like that? I thought Wounds of Eventide was the true ending.
To complete the Wounds of Eventide quest and ending you need the Cvstodia of Sin
@@emmanuelbustos2693 Is that responsible for the wooden arm thing?
@@user-nk8ft3nn8z Yes.
The spined arm represents how the penitent one set cvstodia free of guilt, and hes carrying it all in the spined arm
Other question: If the Miracle has given birth to it’s child into the world, then who, or rather what, revived the Penitent One again in the second game to stop the child’s birth? It couldn’t haven been the Miracle who’d done this, right?
those feel so damn rewarding every time (stupid youtube can't even write the word here)
The first game had better executions. Far more creative, better art style, more gory, and it was just a better game overall. Apparently they switched to anime cutscenes for the second game because their pixel art animator quit the team. Clean anime cutscenes doesn’t fit a game that uses gritty and raw pixel art. It’s such a weird change.
In general, I agree, but they have improved the gameplay. But what I can not forgive is the departure of the soundtrack of the sequel in a more positive and life-affirming side. In the original music was excellent and perfectly complemented the atmosphere of dark fantasy in game. And it is strange, because the composer remained the same. In any case, Blasphemous 2 good game, but the official soundtrack in it turned somewhere wrong
@@quantumprime4519 It makes sense that the music points more to life than to loneliness and despair since the main theme of the game is the dispute of the birth of a new era, whether for better or worse, custody is no longer mired in despair, so the music and the atmosphere is no longer a dark fantasy, it is rather a Renaissance fantasy of Spain, the miracle is no longer manifested with greater power by the death of the high wills, so the people of the main town can live their peaceful lives. until the birth of the new son who will bring the new era of desolation and devotion to the miracle and the custodian people, but that is something that the penitent must stop and that the living people demonstrate that the sacrifice of the penitent to free the custodian in the BLasfemo 1 It was not in vain.
Yall just won't stop WHINING

1:44 my favourite

That id say is one of the handful of B2's flaws. I guess it would be too much to have unique execution's for all 3 weapons on all those enemy types so they settled with a handful for some and reuse the root arm squish for the rest.
Im just saying, maybe if they hadnt changed the cutscenes to animated, that time could of been put into these details instead
So you know nothing about animation. Those pixel art cutscenes B1 had are much harder and more expensive to make. And the guy responsible for them has left the company.
I'm gonna look for and buy blasphemous for the switch if I can find it.
The finishers look like finishers from eternal champions Sega CD version hella cool.
how did he get the root power?
Might have something to do with a certain item that was needed for Ending A and C in the first game.
Fatality
what annoys me is the health bars
I probably should have turned them off for the second game. If any updates add more executions, I'll make a note to update everything with no health bars.
@@CrankyTemplar Im talking about my gameplay experience. I love horror games, that's why when I play blasphemous having no health bars makes it more creepy
How long did the devs work on this entry? In many design areas this game seems primitive compared to its predecessor.
And what are those areas?
Blasphemous 1 had better executions animations.
Sequel is very lackluster in unique animations. In general it feels lower budget than the first game.
oh I would not say that
what it lacks in Execution animations it makes up for in enemy variety, level variety and a generally better flow of gameplay
@@umukzusgelos4834 but most of the enemies are reused from the first game?
@@Thief1987 still plenty of new ones and I see no reason why more enemy variety in total would not count as a plus
@@Thief1987 fym most enemies?
Executions in this game really suck compared to the first game. Hope they change this with DLC because they're disappointing.
Can i get a shoutout please?
To be honest I am really disappointed, the music 80% are not fitting the atmosphere and the game is kinda too bright comparing to the first game.
Executions are same so it triggers unamused feeling alot, I dont even want to execute a mob anyway.
Voicelines are average, it lost the heavy and enormous feelings from the first game.
I would rate this 6.5/10, the first one worth 8/10
The music are wonderfull and i do not agree on the brightness of the game. The areas are really good both eith visuals and level design
@@dorsogelidofereldiano7977 if visuals by your mean is landscape then I have no mean to argue on that, but they used the brightness too high which downgraded the effects of the Miracle which is giving away curses.
For soundtrack, most of the area they used a track that contrast the atmosphere of the area, the only area I feel it is only Profundo Lamento and Sacred Entombment
Idk how you managed to not say one correct sentence in the whole comment lmao
