Nice lumber, beautiful. Ambrosia beetle was busy :) "Listen" is a great word of the day. Old man once said, you got 2 holes in your head for ears and one for a mouth, should listen twice as much as you speak.. great video Eddie, appreciate it.
@@TheEddie1014 Pete is a remarkable young man of impeccable character. I pray for his recovery and look forward to him visiting Mr THE Eddie at the sawmill.
Listen makes the most sense. My grandfather told me a long time ago (I’m 67 now) “You have two eyes, two ears and one mouth. Use them in those proportions and you’ll go far in life.” Damn if that old guy wasn’t right.😂 He also said to “pay attention to what will kill you next” as everything will kill you if you don’t respect it.
You, Mark and ZZ are a well orchestrated team. It is a pleasure seeing your coordination and planned actions. Wishing you and your team a great week. Peace brother
I love working with Ambrisia (sp?) Maple. It is always fun trying to figure out the best project to make out of it in order to utilize the streaking pattern. Good job on the video. You show the "behind the scenes" version. I like that.
It looks cold there. Stay warm and stay safe. There is something about working in a little sawmill like that. Mills like that seem to draw good people. I worked in a little sawmill about 45 years ago, "OK, it was the other people that were good. LOL} and those people are still in my heart. Thank you for the privilege to watch you guys turn logs into lumber.
I have learned over the years that having something to focus on during a time of crisis helps to ease the strain..Whether it something that you can bash the hell out of imagining that it the cause of the problem or nothing more than an emotional release. Many prayers for Pete, Lauren and their respective families. Keep the good work and God bless the whole community who has stepped up to the plate. Especially you Eddie, Mark, ZZ, and the group that helps loggers in their time of need.
I like the elaborate bus motor start up and shut down procedures, it's like watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, so much pomp and circumspect-stance, and the styilized outfits, oh my. The usual Phrase of the day I often hear: 'Shut the F up.'
Ed, looks as if you're getting well acquainted with the new loader. Your operating is getting very smooth. I enjoy videos of the inner workings at the mill. For me, narration is not as important as just watching you complete your tasks. I especially liked this one.
Hello Eddie. My first time commenting on your channel. I am a long term watcher of Marks channel. It is great to see both sides of the sawing process, and also interesting to hear your commentary about the logs and lumber. My thoughts on this particular episode was that good training and hard work really pay off. Since ZZ has been trained to use the edger the efficiency of the mill seems to have markedly increased. Hopefully it has evened out your workload a little too as I used to think, when you and Mark were the only ones operating the mill, how heavy all the lumber must have been for you to move and stack as it came off the mill. Thank you and kindest regards. Stay safe. Stan
I know the noise level outside the booth will make it difficult, but would like to hear some commentary from Eddie. Why does he always turn the plank over? how does he decide where to crop short boards? etc.
Hooray. A new video. Please keep them coming. Please keep us updated with Pete's progress. (p.s. I heard that one old reprobate that shows up at your sawmill is off house arrest)
so many things you do that a lot of people will never notice like heading back to offbear a board and checking engine guages on the way,,, did your end about 60 years ago as a teenager on an old frick. our loader was grey and [kinda] answered to tom-tom and tillie. best wishes in 2024 and keep em coming!
That is some beautiful wood Ed if I had a workshop and wood working tools I would bid on it and win it because that would make a nice dinning room table, living room table, end table or fireplace mantle or something like that or all of the above!!! Have a blessed day Eddie
You really are busy at your end of the mill. With the camera on your head it’s easy to see how much you are keeping track of everything. Must be stressful.
@@rons.971 Thanks Ron. Looking to buy one or something comparable. Probably won’t be long before the surrounding towns where I live, do away with 2 stroke chainsaws. A number of towns already did it with leaf blowers.
Wow, what a bummer for nuts319, logging is so dangerous, so is running a circle mill, remain forever cautious! Give my best to Pete when you talk to him.
@@horacerumpole80 my father in law was in the lumber business all his life started by keeping the boiler fired on the steam mill and later he did the sawing. He went to the frick company in Massachusetts and learned how to pound saws
There’s a lot more to running a piece of equipment than just making it go. Without confidence in yourself while operating it, you are a danger to yourself and others. My wife can make our skidsteer go but she is scared as hell in it… not a good position for me or her when I have to be working alongside it. After watching a while and paying attention to how it’s used, confidence will grow and an interest in operating in might as well. This is all a hobby to these guys… and if you aren’t going to have fun, why do it?

Very similar with where Mr. THE Eddie Horvath has his mill. We are waiting for the mud to freeze.
Yeah it's cold, lol we'll run in the mud, it doesn't stop us from sawing
I've seen several channels talking about Pete and trying to help out. It's a testament to how well he is liked.
