It was surprising to find out that Greater Sao Paulo is the 4th largest metro in the entire world. Thanks once again for an episode of 60 Second Cities.
Brazilian here, born in São Paulo. It's the business, financial and industrial center of Brazil. The concrete jungle that drives Brazilian ingenuity and productivity.

@@Blaqjaqshellaq At first glance, yes. But deeper down, beyond both being purpose-built as federal capitals, a better Brazilian analogy to Ottawa might actually be Belo Horizonte, as a. It was built in the very late 19th century to replace Ouro Preto as the state capital of Minas Gerais (and Ottawa was chosen as the capital of the then Colony of Canada - consisting just of present-day Ontario and Quebec - in 1857), and b. it is closer to Rio and Sao Paulo than is the case with Brasilia. Regarding this last point, just as Ottawa is closer to Montreal than to Toronto, so Belo Horizonte is closer to Rio than to Sao Paulo.
As a São Paulo city native, there ain't big of things to say about São Paulo, but historically, our city enslaved like 40% of brazil, giving it a immense amount of population and development, which resulted in nowadays richness
I like this series a lot. Sao Paulo surprised me with how many skyscraper there are and how decentralized it felt.
São Paulo has zoning laws that prevent the construction of skyscrapers with the largest being 219M, which is under construction.
São Paulo has only 16 skyscrapers, but lots of highrises
The map only shows some tourist attractions, hiding the rest of the city, which is why it appears empty.

learn how to speak a brazilian portuguese before saying, it´s not Sa'o Paulow it's São Paulo (the Paulo pronunciation is like Paulu)
“So Paulu” is the correct pronunciation
Or perhaps, "Sampaulu" or "Sampaulo"
