I feel like its a nice concept but takes up way more space than it needs to for the amount of flies stored. Def a luxury purchase.
Glad they came back around to the clip in inserts. They did this about 20 years ago when SA was their distributor and I have some from that time and I love them. Now I can get more foams.
I got to see these in person yesterday at the Fly Tying Symposium in NJ- they are LEGIT. Every product isn't going to be for every customer- but if you are serious about tying flies or fishing flies, or BOTH- this is a really slick concept.
I have used C&F fly boxes for the last 3 years. Their fly boxes like everything that they make has awesome quality and design. The new system takes the best to an even higher level.
Also the video is incredibly well done. It is both incredibly informative and incredibly well produced. Kudos to you!
Love your reviews, you guys rock. The molle system, which this appears to be based on, is fantastic and has helpful applications across the board (see Fishpond’s modular system). However, in this particular case, unless you have long since identified the need, this is over the top, I think. Even for a lot of very experienced fisherfolk, the real issue isn’t so much the type of box but the mental organization, ie really understanding the quarry, the prey, the waters you fish, and your own approach to it all. This system could complicate rather than help beginners and intermediates, imo.
Great design. Some kind of magnetic patch for midges would be nice. But not for me since I'd be spending $500 for a couple boat boxes. Could easily turn into $1000 with with some small boxes. Would rather keep the flies in a fly shop puck and get a new scott or winston rod.
That is a super cool system.
I bought those when they hit the market about 10 years ago . Loved them , I'm sure the new stuff will be even better

Curtis you have too many flies! Ok I get it you can never have too many flies but it makes me curious, what kind of lunch box did you have in grade school, lol. I wish we could get more of the C&F tools. I love their bobbins and wish I could afford their vise!
I switched all my boxes a few years ago to CF design. Does the small boxes going to have the capability to have a leaf like the old boxes did? I love being able to carry 400 nymphs in a small box.
C&F is a great product, I've been using their boxes for years. Will the new foam inserts fit the old C&F small and medium boxes?
Finally! A friend picked up a couple of the large boxes and the medium fly patch for me when he was in Japan this summer but I need more. I've got one of the threader inserts loaded with midges for this winter.
Are they bringing back the leaf page inserts for the universal boxes?
Fit for. Form, function, flexibility, of purpose. This absolutely ticks every category.
Are CF original fly boxes that have interchangeable foam compatible with these new foam inserts
How do you use both small and large inserts? Mine comes with small and medium, and a large would not seem to fit inside if I were to buy some large inserts separately. I'd like to kind of mix and match.
Love c&f and use currently, have they improved the foam inserts from sliding in/out of the spring loaded clips?
What are the thoughts of the compartments of the dry dropper inserts?
I looked at your store site for these boat boxes but could not find them.
anyone know if you can get the retention clips separately, I've looked around and not seeing any options.

We complicate a simple sport for the sake of sales, you don’t need anything but a tin of mints or just the plastic cup\pucks you get free from the fly shop people…spend your money wisely not just because it’s new
