Don’t forget the generous benefits that are available for folks that are down on their luck for public assistance. Friends didn’t specifically for elderly there is the adult public assistance program and the Alaska Senior benefit program to name a few. I work in that industry.

I see generous because it’s better than a lot of states. Specifically the one I came from and they actually do have programs not every state does.

Great video. Some things I would add that are financially related is the PFD which everybody knows about, however one has to live in AK for ONE CALENDAR year before qualifying to receive it. Also, you do get a 1099-MISC, so obviously you need to report that on your taxes.
Also there is no state income tax. (and no sales tax in most places) So that means you get to take more home in your paycheck.
Thirdly, there are some World Class skiing/Wintersports areas up there, I'm referring to Girdwood/Alyeska, cause those are the only ones I know of. That's only if you're into wintersports, I suppose. Also the Northern Lights, again only if you're into that sorta stuff.

I was watching another video where they said Alaska had one of the worse ratings for air quality because the fires and fuels being burned stays near the ground.

Jamin! I raised the money need to move to Alaska! Now I'm in a bit of a pickle. I want to take my car with me but I don't want to drive from Florida to Washington with current gas prices and with the cost of the ferry up to Alaska. The cheapest flights out there are in May, would you recommend it still drive up there? Or should I get established first then take my car up? I know I'm asking a lot so feel free to get back to me when you can. I'll be downloading your guide thanks. I've also been looking for apartments under a $800 a month I don't know what's going to happen between today and the day I arrive there. Thanks for all the help you give us with your channel and podcast.
