I know the series has its fans but it can be surprising when such a quality Game is coming out and there is not a great deal of noise about it. I'll at least do my part with this vid to spread awareness 🙂
Unfortunately Square has already said they have decided to focus on AAA gaming and have canceled/cut back on their smaller titles. More than likely Romancing Saga 3 would fall into that category. We are lucky we got Romancing Saga 2. More than likely they were too far along to abandon development. Unless Romancing Saga 2 exceeds their expectations in a decent way I’d suspect we’ll not see 3 any time soon. We can hope though
I get so excited a Video has to be made each time Hahaha You are very welcome Lucian!! Anything that feels old school and respectful, I just have to highlight 😃
From my experience of Saga games they're all very different from each other, but generally contain an overarching battle system where attacking with certain weapons earns hidden experience levels towards new techniques. These techniques are generally referred to as glimmers. They may seem random in terms of learning to start but are interconnected to a degree so if you have an internal level of 5 with swords you learn something, but then to learn another technique that's sword related you may have to play around with rapiers (the game counts them differently from normal swords often) and get a level or two in those. Generally, characters that start off feeling the same can differentiate their roles that way. Magic though is not part of this glimmer system. It has a more traditional magic level up system where learning a spell just requires a level up usually most characters who will only start with one spell type but you can learn others through world exploration, or in the case with most mages in the series, picking one with the element you want at your castle. There's a research lab you can gain to change that up a bit. Um, I have prattled on a lot and while I haven't beaten any of the Saga games outside of Final Fantasy Legends 1-3 I guess I should end it here. I'm not sure if I have spoken well for the series as FF Legends as a whole didn't contain the glimmer system at all but instead a weapon use/durability system with no special techniques where you might get 10 uses of a sword and it's gone forever. Here, that doesn't exist, but training with particular weapons is very important because any techniques you learn can get passed on to new characters you encounter or your MC.
So glad you enjoyed it!! Game looks to be a lot of fun so just had to share 😃 Love slower paced Games 😎 if things happen too fast, I find it harder to appreciate the smaller details ^__^
After I finished the game, even with the post game super boss, I can say with confidence is the best I've played in the last two years that has classic and modern things balanced beautifully.
Looks a great game like Dragon Quest. I particularly like Japanese social respect in their games unlike many American games some of which pollute youth culture.
Such clever design 😃 I feel if something is done well, even if it's multi layered it doesn't need to be confusing. My brain prefers that ^__^ Thanks for watching!

I liked almost everything in this game outside of combat, but combat felt so dull for SaGa standards that i couldny help but feel dissappinted. Its honestly laughable compared to Scarlet grace ambitions in that regard
I consider myself very well up to date with gaming news and new releases, and I had ZERO clue that this game was getting a full 3D remake - AND RELEASING SO SOON?! Also, the SaGa series has always bit hit or miss with people due to the leveling up by doing thing. Thats one of the biggest reasons people dont like final fantasy 2. I also love elder scrolls, but I actually hate that leveling system because it makes tasks repetitive. I like the idea in theory of getting better at what you do. But in practice in games, it gets repetitive and it often railroad’s you into only doing one thing, unless you grind a new skill for ages so you can catch back up. In my experience it lowers the feeling of freedom and choice in your tactics because you only want to use the one you’re good at. Or you feel like you HAVE to use skills you dont want in that particular fight just to keep it leveled up. It’s incredibly frustrating to want to level swords because its a lower level skill, but then the enemy is weak to spears, on top of you doing more damage with spears due to the level. And then later in the game you find an enemy immune to spears so you HAVE to use the swords that are super low level and low damage, which is super frustrating. Ill keep my mind open and i will probably try the demo. Super happy for you and that you like it though. I just have a bone to pick with that leveling system but to each their own lol.
I do love it when I bring good news to people who did not know 🙂 That's why I'll still cover things, even if its not breaking news because I could still end up making someone's day ^__^ That's some interesting feedback on the levelling system! I've obviously only played a Demo, so I have not even had the chance to get annoyed at anything, since it's all fresh and new on my eyes. Elder Scrolls in indeed a good example of many things sounding good on paper but not in practice. Like their auto levelling system, where enemy are always about your level. I want the satisfaction of a monster kicking my butt at the start and me becoming buff to come back and get revenge hahaha
