Looks really GOOD! I like the perma-death feature, adds a bit of gravitas to the battles Fifty quid IS pricey, but this is a PROPER remake, not just a lazy remaster...
I’m in Japan and thinking to buy a physical copy but I’m not sure if I can change the language to english. Is there a language change feature in the Japan release?
@@klissattack You unlock stuff as you see them, when you see enough your united attacks become 3 characters, more it becomes 4, and again for the 5th, and also some stuff related to the kingdom I forgot haha
I bought it yesterday. It goes nicely with my imported physical copies of Romancing SaGa 3 and Romancing SaGa 2 Remastered for Switch. Yes, I bought the same game twice, just because they changed the graphics. I don’t care. I love having it. Thanks for another great review. Even if I disagreed with you, I’d love your video just because I love your voice and accent. So very cool. ❤❤❤❤❤
I played the game on Switch Oled and the rog Ally. It looks really good on the Switch! The colors pop more on the switch than it does on the Ally, but at the end of the day, it's the same game. I didn't see a big difference. Both the framerate and the gameplay are definitely a little smoother on the Ally than it is on the switch, but it's an rpg, so the game doesn't have to be 60 fps. I had no issues with the switch version, and besides, I had to get it on the Switch because I love owning physical games. I'd also like to mention that u can't fit a TV and a ps5 into your pocket. So, with that being said, the Switch version it is for me. I really enjoyed playing the game on the switch. There isn't much difference in graphical parity besides the framerates.
@@redcrimson1028Yup, i'm not even at home 5 days of the week, sometimes even 6, I can bring the switch everywhere (Even though I can't pick uo my physical copy until later today of friday for the same reasons, i'm stuck in an army camp haha) but I can't bring a ps5 or a tv with me, so switch was automatically the better version for me XD
@Fuudo_123 Yes, sir! I have it on switch. I downloaded and played the demo first. I liked the demo so much I went out and bought the full game physically last night. It plays and especially looks really good on the switch. It's not 60 fps like the other consoles, though, so gameplay isn't going to be as smooth as the other platforms, but other that, they pretty much look the same.
@@redcrimson1028 Niiiice, I myself on just got the game today, the store only had the one copy I preordered so if I hadn't then they wouldn't have had any in stock so nice job past me XD I'm having a ton of fun, this to me is game of the year and playing the original before has made me enjoy a lot of the new stuff too haha, hope you enjoy the game as much as I do!
@Fuudo_123 i haven't played the original, but I'm well aware of it. I have it on the switch as well. I'll try to enjoy it. I like the demo, so I know I'll like the game. I had no issues walking into a gamestop and picking the game up, though. Amazon also has the game there. I don't think it's a hard game to come by. Not too many people know about it. Gamestop had the one pre order because people don't know about it. Gamestop also has a nasty tendency of only having pre order copies but not walk in copies.
a masterpiece can differ form person to person and for me the original rs2 was a masterpiece the remake though i gotta wait and see to actually play it if theres one thing i cant stand with remakes/remasters its nerfs/"balancing" and there was few things in the original that where considered overpowered and if they got nerfed/"rebalanced" its going to ruin my fun lol
Yeah sadly I didn't have that experience, that's why I used the old school guide for a couple of missions to see, is everything in the same place. It was the only way I could kind of prepare and I'm not about to pretend I have knowledge of the original
What’s the point of choosing a character at the beginning of the game? As far as I could see playing the demo it was a pointless time waster🤔 is that different with the full game?
Late reply but other guy is wrong. Fleeing doesn't count towards BR in this remake. And it's alluded to in this review but BR itself is totally overhauled. While fighting more does make enemies stronger it is capped based, as far as I can tell, the cumulative number of events you've completed. You can even see your current BR for the first time since The Last Remnant... not sure it's in the demo (I skipped that) but it's on the 2nd page in Imperial Standing. For example, I'm about 30 hours in ~500ish fights (it records these stats too), 4 heroes down and about 3/4 lands liberated and I'm at rank 10. Never have enemies felt too weak or too strong, and in fact sometimes I feel like I'm too strong which generally comes just before the rank goes up again. RS2 is my 2nd favorite series title and honestly the BR situation is vastly over inflated (that goes for RS3 as well). You really have to go out of your way for it to matter. Even so I like the implementation changes they made here. Hope that helps.
Highly promising. This is basically a western rpg in a jrpg coat of paint really. Don’t let this potential masterpiece be forgotten in this year full of stellar releases! Grinding isn’t really necessary in this game unless for magic tbh and enemies are really hard when you don’t know their weakness. The united attack system and multiple visual cues make this remake much more accessible than the original.
@@SwitchCorner Makes sense. Maybe it’s different because in the original it all flowed seemlessly. Meaning you conquer new regions and you got enough cash to build the university etc… Did you try growing the avalon tree and annexing the Gremine Mines? They give lots of cash overtime.
I probably spent too much cash in the first part and it was self inflicted honestly but there's the potential I guess. My buildings went from 300k to 2 million and I didn't expect such a jump so I probably went a little mad shopping
This is all well and good, but where's the SaGa Frontier 2 Remaster that we've been waiting for? This is a remake of the WORST game in the Romancing SaGa Super Famicom series!
@@JohnnyProctor9 In due time. We are even lucky these games are being remade and we get new entries in this series. Kawazu said SF2 remaster or remake is coming « if we are patient » (his own words)
@Suikojunkie - Well it's nice that we're (hopefully) getting the entire series on Switch, but we already HAD RS2 on Switch and I was fine with just having the mobile port of the original on the Switch...they REALLY should've completed the series by doing SaGa Frontier 2 first.
Thanks for watching, liking, and subscribing! WIll you be checking out Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of the Seven on Nintendo Switch?

you say that when lots of remakes are 60 to 70 this is budget and is 20 cheaper than almost all new releases or remakes lol

Im really exited for this one, ive never played a SaGa game but i played that demo through twice haha!

Do you get to control the 7 heroes during the bits that explore their past or is it just a cutscene?
The portals where you view the history that are scattered around alot of locations, that's a cutscene.

Because in the original you get punished by fighting😢
