Boats smashed by Waves in Haulover Inlet

Haulover inlet is one of the most popular Inlet in the word and it can be a little scary the first time. If you're looking for a good time, come on down and check it out!
Bakers Haulover Inlet is a man-made inlet created in 1925 connecting Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean . In 1926 a hurricane destroyed the bulkhead and jetty on the ocean side of the inlet. In 1927 two 700 foot long steel sheet pile jetties were constructed 325 feet apart on the north and south sides.

I gotta say, Key West makes one of the best hull designs for an ocean-going bowrider. Actually designed to take on the waves rather than acting like a water scoop. The Yamahas and others are a joke trying to navigate the inlet.
