Love to see other 900's have run 10 plus years in comments. After watching your video, I asked Water Boss repair site the proper steps to remove the media. Surprisingly they told be the medium CAN NOT BE REMOVED! They CLAIMED the medium tank is welded together. Sure looks like yours came apart just fine. Thanks for your video.
My WaterBoss 900 lasted 15 years. Bought a new one when I wasn't getting enough soft water. Now I can replace the resin in the old one and have a backup in another 15 years. One thing to note about the WaterBoss, you do have to clean out the salt holding area about every 5 years, to keep fine particles of foreign matter in the salt bags from clogging things up. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Yes sir, I have noticed that too! Those small dirt particles really clog up the brine ball float and the brine valve if we don't clean it every now and then. Thank you for viewing and the kind words...
Thanks for this useful video. Looks like I need to replace my support panel for my new 900 and your video is the best one I have seen to do just that. Fingers crossed!!
It is pretty straight forward. Unplug the two wires and move the panel to the right and it will come off. It's just being held by plastic tabs under it. The wires in the back are "specific" so it won't fit on other slot if you accidentally plug it in on the wrong spot. But, if in doubt, take photos of the wires prior to removing them... Good Luck!!!
@@mikedoingmikethings702 that seems like the easy part! lol i need to take everything off and replace that gray support panel that snaps onto the actual cabinet. Looks like I also need to dissect most of the parts that are attached to the resin tank to be able to take it off. Your video shows more than most.
Great stuff! The water pressure is bad in my house and all the incoming water goes through the water boss 900. The power went out a couple of days ago for 24 hours and now it seems like it’s not working. No error codes, just when I ran the water for 20 min to try to clear the pipes the water the water pressure dropped and I can’t get it back. After regenerating it still nothing. Any advice?
First you have to find out if the water pressure is good (40-60 psi) before the water softener. You can switch the dial to "BYPASS" and see if that makes a difference. When the resin is no longer good, it would float up and go through the water line and clogs the faucets, shower heads and washing machine. I found this out the hard way. I installed an inline whole house filter after the water softener just in care this happens again and saves me the hassle of clearing our waterline. Here's what you can do: 1-Does your outside of the house water pressure good? 2-Bypass water on the water softener (dial is located by the In-Out water supply line) 3-Remove faucet aerator and see if there's any resin 4-Check prior to water pressure regulator (looks like an enclosed copper bell) in the garage, check before and after this device for pressure. It could be that this went out and needs replacement. Good Luck and let me know if this helps!
@@m.creekrenovationsremove the inlet from the water softener and measure the pressure if you have a way to do so to pinpoint the problem. If the water softener is only 4 y/o I highly doubt that the resin is bad, but not impossible. One sure sign of bad resin is, it floats up and it comes out of the tank out to your faucet.

I’ve only had the unit for like 4 years
