As a kid I always spent some time exploring looking at all of the details and trying to imagine what it would be like to see them all sitting in there during a normal day at work like the rest of us live every day in real life. Looking at their possessions and where they might have leaned back and spent time re-reading a paper stuck on the wall or daydreaming of somewhere else in the city they’d rather be other than at work. Kind of personalized everything in that office a bit more, and this song makes it feel that much more emotional, knowing it will never, ever be the same in that room for anyone ever again. No more friendly conversations with each other, no more hot coffee on the desktops, no more handshakes or high fives, or laughter. Just the dimming lights and decaying atmosphere while the ultimate horror lurks just outside the door. R.I.P STARS. Except Wesker, you can burn mf
I also think the same thing your message made me cry because it is true and each one of them took a separate path and they never saw each other again, just like we do when we change jobs that we miss all those moments we live with our partners
I feel the same... Everything in the room shows that people were working and were abruptly interrupted forever. It's so sad... I can't feel safe in this room like the others. The only sensation is sadness
I tend to think about how they all went into the mission at the Spencer Mansion/Arklay Mountains, not expecting anything but another lengthy investigation, that’d likely go cold. None of them would’ve imagined that the mission would end in the deaths of most of the members of STARS, but also the ultimate betrayal from the one they trusted deeply. They all went into that mission not knowing that they wouldn’t be coming back, not knowing what was truly happening beneath them. This track captures the essence of horror that they all must’ve been feeling, but is also peaceful, as it was once the place of lively officers, who only wanted to keep RC safe, only to get backstabbed by both their captain and chief. This track is amazing.
The nostalgia levels off the charts. I miss the 90's! I remember staring at the picture of all of the S.T.A.R.S. members with my friends, pointing everyone out from RE1.
You can see little reminders of the team from Chris's jacket on the walls, Barry's desk full of gun magazines (books) to Rebecca's medical bag, I love the remake putting in little touches like that really helps to imagine not a month or so ago everyone was just hanging around in this office thinking of the heroes welcome they'd get for solving the arkaly mountain case, only to be shamed and hushed up by umbrella and Chief Irons
everytime I'm in the office and hear this makes me feel good but also sad. remembering all the Valliant efforts of all the STARS members. now....this office is just a shadow of what once was. while looking at the picture with all the bravo and alpha team members.
“The S.T.A.R.S. office was empty, cluttered and cold and layered with dust, but Claire was reluctant to leave. After her stumbling, frightened flight through the body-strewn halls of the second floor, finding the place where her brother had spent his working days had left her feeling weak with relief. Mr. X hadn't followed her, and although she was still anxious to help Sherry and find Leon, she found herself lingering, afraid to step back into the lifeless halls and hesitant to leave the one place that felt like Chris.” -excerpt from “Resident Evil: City of the Dead” by S.D. Perry
My wife & I just started reading this. I’m a die hard RE fan, my wife doesn’t play video games but she’s a avid book worm this way she can get into the story and maybe I’ll get her to play the games.
Christine O'Neill you’re the true hero thanks. I’ve been looking for the official name forever. It’s been literally 10 months since I first looked for this song lol.
This is the music that sets the tone of what happened at the RPD. Marvin was the last survivor, too just walk in to that place is really just a hopeless place thats about to get nuked and the protagonists don't even know!! Because the whole city is completely dead(zombies)thatll be crazy just to drive into a scanario like that.
Uhh….Doesn’t that music only play once: the first time you enter the STARS office? By the time the tyrant (that’s what he’s called in the game) shows up you’ve already been in the office to get the battery for the detonator 🤨 Even on the 2nd scenario you’d have to actively avoid the office in order to activate the tyrant into chasing you 🤦♂️ Maybe you’re just misremembering
R.i.p. Paul Hadid. Your voice forever remembered since 1998. 💙 Absolutely one of the best moments in re2 original. It felt like home just to see the other character among the living in that horror. The melancholy of the song was bittersweet.. Leon's and Claire's final moment before they part ways. It gave the feeling of courage to see the other character, yet also sadness that you only had that small moment together. I remember never wanting to leave this room when I played this back in 1998.
I feel this amazaing atmosphere so good but i know remake is not exactly the samw but the vibe of stars office the only place without a typewriter where no evil can enter

The Resident Evil marketing and the in-game text refers to the whole ordeal as a “nightmare” but the characters in the game never seem very scared or grossed out and just kinda take it in stride. I guess the remake had a few impromptu moments where you aim at a zombie or kill it at close range and your character will gasp or swear. That actually went a long way towards creating an atmosphere of dread in the earlier parts of the game
The photo of the S.T.A.R.S squad is cool. Its fucked up because pretty much all of them are dead at tht point. They need to make a legit movie about the mansion an the S.T.A.R.S team.
I always tear up when I walk through this room and especially when I see Jill’s beret still laying on her desk. It’s crazy to imagine that a few hours after you walk through there the whole city and that office gets nuked. I’m really excited to be playing RE3 remake in April.
@@abelvillalobos4870 Terrifying that something so benign would bring what is presumably a grown man to tears? 🤨 I hear you. I’ll bet there were a lot more tears when he discovered RE3 was a jock and lazy slap dash cash grab

Melancholic but at the same time hopeful. Like heroes resided there before. Those are the vibes I get from this soundtrack.

Its sad knowing that STARS cannot report to this office anymore

Welcome Leon! 🥳 😔
The soundtrack for the office in the original is far superior to this one
my first pre order😔
Mr X dislikes this
I wish they would've used a remix of Nothing More to do Here, especially since Leon and Claire don't meet up in the S.T.A.R.S office in the remake. :/
I wish they through the other track in there to🤔
sounds a bit like Resident Evil 3 at the beginning
Does anyone have any sheet music for this song?
Leon!
