This is what the remake was missing. Just the DRAMA, that opera-like atmosphere, of the entire situation that is conveyed through this game’s multiple soundtracks is completely missing from the remake. This track was such a shock because it was the first one that we hear that is dripping with such emotion. Every other track before this has been cold, industrious, sterile or just plain creepy, which to me reflects the dangers lurking throughout the RPD as well as the fact that Leon and Claire are operating on their pure instinct to simply survive. With every new track the player is put into the mindset of “what’s around the next corner, do I have enough ammo”, etc. This is the first time we hear a track that’s just straight up personal. This track feels like the real Ada. Like her cold mask is starting to crack as she’s exhausted by the events of the entire night, but also charmed by the genuine earnestness of this clueless rookie cop.
Totally agree. The soundtrack suddenly becomes vulnerable, just like Ada is for Leon in that moment. The song sounds romantic, yet doleful; like falling in love, yet mourning for a loved one. Lemme stop being a youtube comment section poet and go to bed

I just want to shake the hands of everyone who was involved in this sound track. It's timeless. Resident evil 2 was a freak accident of perfection and I don't think it could ever be replicated. Im just glad I was a part of the ride.

There is such a sadness to this song. I guess in game it might be reference to ada’s split between her job and her feelings and her loneliness. If I were to have heard this song without that context, though, I’d say it reminds me of reminiscing a long since passed friend or family member.

Iron Lungs I use to play this game online at the time and play Resident Evil Outbreak online as well when I was like 3 years old. The zombies and the blood and gore never gave me nightmares. But I always laughed in my sleep when I dreamed on killing a zombie. This soundtrack gives me so many childhood memories it's unbelievable.

Man this still gives me the goosebumps in 2021....I loved this in 99 and thr feeling has never swayed. From a 9 year old to a 31 year old now I put my daughter to sleep with this playing on her little stereo I got her.....me and her also sometimes play this in the house when it's raining outside....that ambiance of this music and the combination of my little girl laying in my arms enjoying the same song I did when I was 9 is just such a surreal experience....music like this truly is the key to my soul...

I remember hearing this for the first time when I was 9 years old and thought to myself damn this is more than a zombie game… this is an artistic masterpiece and worth every once of hype it had at the time. My expectations of video games raised so high because of this gem.
Bc they remade the soundtracks. This remake was my first contact w RE2 and it was offered to me by someone that bought my artworks on steam. When I played the game, it looked good, it was beautiful and everything, yet it felt like a game id consider just as « good-tier » such as so many others… Then I noticed that the guy that offered me the game bought the DELUXE edition containing the original soundtrack. I turned the option to have the OG OST on and god I can’t even verbally explain the gap in the experience quality I had in this game. This game s OST is god tier and I would never have liked it as much as I did if this OST didn t exist bc it made the ambiance of the game 10 times heavier. Talking abt heavy, all the OSTs of this game feel emotionally heavy or mysterious. It’s so special man idk even what to say. I know every track of the OG game while I don’t remember any from the actual Remake s OST… This game s perfection is a really due to a sum of non probable events through plenty of little details. And when I say this im also thinking abt the OG RE2 game bc i had to play it after experiencing this ost

I actually really liked the music but it plays very sparsely and a lot of the time there isn't any. I get what they were going for but they could have had more. At least the escape and final tyrant fight soundtracks are awesome.
Listening to this plus the RE3: Nemesis Raccoon City Ambient Sound with Rainy Mood really adds a soothing and otherwise, chilling, twist to this beauty.
First this played in Resident Evil 2(1998) Then Resident evil 6 (2012) And now Resident evil 4 (2023) Separate ways. I'm happy that this theme is still being used, its so memorable.❤

this music fit the mood perfectly when leon was caring for ada...it sounds like the type of music sounds you would hear when someone is suffering or dying and you are with them praying for them to heal and get better

Such a beautiful and contemplative track. Been listening to and playing it for years, now-one of my handful of favorites. The calming synthesizer sustains a feeling of ease throughout the score and almost talks to you with the 6-7-5 notes, while the daunting piano can intermittently be unsettling. RE has certainly recruited top talented composers.

I think this is my favourite piece of music from the entire franchise. When I heard it again in RE4 remake Ada dlc it made me feel emotional which other music doesn't do.
This track embodied Ada's character perfectly. A woman who is beautiful and mysterious, yet has much sadness in her past. What's even more amazing is this track is reprised in RE 6 and RE 4: Separate Ways (2023). You got to love the classics.
Oh how I wish Resident evil games were like this one. I remember both my mom and dad playing this game when it first came out when I was either 3 or 4, then playing it myself when I was 6 or 7, a lot of good memories with this game and the first and third one.

Amazing theme also mysterious.. Just like Ada herself
One of the most touching themes of the entire series, really sets the stage for the blooming romance between the two that you just know they both share despite what they say. I'd really like to see Ada get her own full game.

Such a beautiful song. Capcom from the 90s and early 2000s really knew how to make timeless themes. I remember hearing this for the first time when I was 9 years old and thought to myself damn this is more than a zombie game… this is an artistic masterpiece and worth every once of hype it had at the time. My expectations of video games raised so high because of this gem.
Agreed completely, resident evil and silent hill music are something different. I have like 2 playlists for them
Why is this masterpiece not in the Remake?
Bc they remade the soundtracks. This remake was my first contact w RE2 and it was offered to me by someone that bought my artworks on steam. When I played the game, it looked good, it was beautiful and everything, yet it felt like a game id consider just as « good-tier » such as so many others…
Then I noticed that the guy that offered me the game bought the DELUXE edition containing the original soundtrack. I turned the option to have the OG OST on and god I can’t even verbally explain the gap in the experience quality I had in this game. This game s OST is god tier and I would never have liked it as much as I did if this OST didn t exist bc it made the ambiance of the game 10 times heavier.
Talking abt heavy, all the OSTs of this game feel emotionally heavy or mysterious. It’s so special man idk even what to say. I know every track of the OG game while I don’t remember any from the actual Remake s OST…
This game s perfection is a really due to a sum of non probable events through plenty of little details. And when I say this im also thinking abt the OG RE2 game bc i had to play it after experiencing this ost

@@MashMash I've never played the remake with the new OST, i bought the deluxe version just for the original OST. I mean, this game's soundtrack is literally half of the experience. That's why i was questioning the absense of this track.
@Konstantinos G. yeah that was one of the disappointing things about the game for most people I think. I actually really liked the music but it plays very sparsely and a lot of the time there isn't any. I get what they were going for but they could have had more. At least the escape and final tyrant fight soundtracks are awesome.

this music fit the mood perfectly when leon was caring for ada...it sounds like the type of music sounds you would hear when someone is suffering or dying and you are with them praying for them to heal and get better

Such a beautiful and contemplative track. Been listening to and playing it for years, now-one of my handful of favorites. The calming synthesizer sustains a feeling of ease throughout the score and almost talks to you with the 6-7-5 notes, while the daunting piano can intermittently be unsettling. RE has certainly recruited top talented composers.

The re1 remake was excellent. Very very well made I was extremely pleased. They wont do us wrong after all these years of waiting its going to be amazing.

DanteLeon DMC/Resi You're acting like a total pessimist, I'm pretty sure that one of the reasons this is being made(besides money) is because the original director(?) wanted to play a remastered version because of how terrible the original looked. They're sticking to the old formula and are DEFINITELY capable of making it good.

It plays when Leon is going down the elevator after Ada falls. You didn't notice it because it plays way too quietly, for way too shortly. They fucked it up.

I think this is my favourite piece of music from the entire franchise. When I heard it again in RE4 remake Ada dlc it made me feel emotional which other music doesn't do.

This track embodied Ada's character perfectly. A woman who is beautiful and mysterious, yet has much sadness in her past. What's even more amazing is this track is reprised in RE 6 and RE 4: Separate Ways (2023). You got to love the classics.

Oh how I wish Resident evil games were like this one. I remember both my mom and dad playing this game when it first came out when I was either 3 or 4, then playing it myself when I was 6 or 7, a lot of good memories with this game and the first and third one.

この曲は気分が落ち込んだときに聴くと気分が安定するので長年よく聴いています。コロナ空けの初のお盆、山間部の老舗ホテルに家族と泊まりまして、寝つきが悪かったので、とりあえずAda's Themeをイヤホンに流して聴きながら眠りにつきました。翌朝障子の向こうに寝ていた姉が「凄くうなされてたよ」と言ってきました。曰く夜中の3時ごろに私がはっきりとした声で「助けて」と6ほど回言っていたそうなのです。あと1回言ったら起こしに行くそうで、3時といえば直前に起きてトイレに行っていた時刻でした。夢を見た覚えも一切なく、寝耳に水で、全くそういった記憶がありません。気になって帰宅後ネットで調べたところ、どうやらそのホテルで今から59年前、県外から来た女性客が他の男性客に襲われ思い詰めて自殺したらしく、その身投げした部屋が私が泊った906号室だったのですとかいうそういう事実は全くなく、他に怪談につなげそうな情報もなく、中途半端で申し訳ないですが、そのあとAda's Themeを聴くと少し肌寒く感じるようになりました。なお906という数字は縁起が悪いのか部屋は欠番になっていました。料理も最高に美味しく、お風呂も最高で、景色も最高でした。ありがとうAda's Theme。
