American Airlines B767-200. One of my favorites. I flew on them many times on the transcontinental flights. They are beautiful aircrafts. AA's B767-200's deserve upmost respect for that they have served for 30+ years. Dedication to American Airlines and the Boeing Company!!! Thanks Speedbird.
I am seriously bumbed I didn't get to fly the 767-200's, and now most recently the 300's before they were retired. Great plane that I have fond memories of flying on to Europe in the 80's and 90's. That's 5 planes now from my childhood that are now gone; the 727, DC-9/MD-80, DC-10, MD-11, and now the 767. Long live the 767!!!
Excellent Video SpeedbirdHD!!! Sad to know AA is not flying the 762 anymore. Another piece of the golden age is gone. Thankfully, The Spirit of Delta lives on in ATL as the original 762 for DL. Thanks again for all of your great videos!!!
I had the pleasure of flying on one of Air New Zealands 767 300 series aircraft recently......my first trip on any 767.......they are a great aircraft.
Very nice video, SpeedbirdHD. Loved the music in place of the true sounds. It was quite fitting as a farewell to the American Airlines Boeing 767 fleet.
Wow, and I just flew in one two days ago from LAX to DFW. Not gonna lie, it was the smoothest and fastest flight I've taken - It might also have something to do with the fact that our flight was delayed by 2 hours, and we had to fly at 29000 throughout the flight. The only downer was the layover because I missed my connecting flight. And yes, it had the old AA livery.
So sad to watch this video. Had many great flights on the 762, including my LAX-JFK seg. that diverted to BWI. Was able to get off the plane and certainly enjoyed walking down airstairs from the 762 and seeing her at ground level!
A few weeks ago I flew with a 767 with winglets (I think 767-300) from Düsseldorf to Chacago and it was quite old from the inside :/// but still i enjoyed flying the 767, but flying the 777-200 on the way back was even better :D(except that the generator of the left engine failed and we had to wait 4 hrs in the plane to get tought that the flight is cancelled and we came home 1 day later)
The rest of their 767 fleet (all of whom are 300ER variants) were retired 6 years afterwards as the airline accelerates the retirement of the older fleet due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Not sure if I'd consider the 767-200 the "backbone of the fleet" (that title certainly goes to their old MD-80 birds) as these birds were only used on certain transcon routes, but still a nice tribute.
Sadly, as much as I hate to say it, they were older. This meant they take more fuel than newer more efficient aircraft and they were going to require major maintenance checks. Basically they cost AA more money keeping them then just ordering new more fuel efficient jets.
I like their new livery better. At least they still have the 763s. I just realized US Airways doesn't have any Boeings in their fleet right? Everything is Embraer, CRJs, and Airbus 319 to 340 right?
Wow, I remembered them when they were new. Boy, I am getting old. My biggest issue with American is the horror show they put the TWA staff through after their acquisition. To this day, I will not fly American.
I can say with confidence that 767 is my favorite! There's something about 757 and 767 that always hits the sweet spot!
It's the RB211's (757) and the JT9D (767)

In memory of those who were lost on AAL 11. N334AA. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
Yes and it's sad that people actually think that there were no planes!
R.I.P American 767-200ERs... :( You will be missed! Fantastic video in memory of them!! :D
1982-2014 RIP AA 767-223ER. You've done a great work.
767-200ER is out in 1984 but 767-200 came out at 1982
@chez you mean N334AA
This is stunning cinematography.
The best livery in American Airlines history.
Wonderful video tribute. The classic '68 livery will never be beaten, how we miss it at LHR!

To all who wants to know, the music is called Departure from the Japanese TV show Good Luck.
Out of all these planes, N334AA had it the worst. N334AA was the one that was hijacked and crashed into WTC 1 as Flight 11.
And now you're probably a stupid UTTP bot. Sad.

Thanks for your service AA 767-200s. :( Happy that I flew on one of these beautiful jets before they were gone. :)
rip flight 11 of american airlines
A beautiful tribute to an elegant queen of the sky like her sister the 747

This is awesome. Thank you. Right into my AVIATION playlist. ROCK ON!!!!!!
Another great one, thanks for taking the time to put it together and for sharing it!!!
I bet that every former or current B767 AA pilot is going to burst out in tears right from the start of this video .
I miss these old birds! I remember I flew on a 767-200 from KMIA to KORD back in the Fall of 2009. Great memories.
Absolutely awesome video!! Thanks for sharing this masterpiece!
I had the pleasure of flying on one of Air New Zealands 767 300 series aircraft recently......my first trip on any 767.......they are a great aircraft.
Great airplane. Great livery. I'll miss them both.
Great audio and video as always Speedbird!
American 767-200 we miss you for ever
Very nice video, SpeedbirdHD. Loved the music in place of the true sounds. It was quite fitting as a farewell to the American Airlines Boeing 767 fleet.
My first 767 flight was on American Airlines in June 1987 from O’Hare to DFW.
beautiful. thanks for sharing.
i really miss this livery on the 767-200
Love the video Speedbird! :') will miss this aircraft!
Nice paint job on those planes, loved music!
SpeedbirdHD !!!
Thank You So Much !!!
AWESOME !!!
Boeing needs to step up their game and do a kind of 767 and 757 NEO (New Engine Option)
I have a new appreciation for this particular model, today of all days. 9/11/17. Too bad there wasn't a lot out there of N334AA besides pictures.
Nice! 2 of my friends were on the last westbound flight!
Rest in peace to American 11 and American 77 that we're totally got destroyed
american 77 was a 757-200, but i get what you're saying. rip
It was fitting that this clip wraps up with the example named "Flagship Independence," named in honor of all who serve our country.

Have flown on many American Airlines 767’s , both 200 and 300 series.
The same type that I saw in New York that September morning. Fun times.
Another great video speedbirdhd! ! :)
The 767-223 was an amazing bird. I still prefer this American Airlines livery to the current disaster of a livery.
Amazingly well done.
What is the background music called?
It goes so well to this dedication video.
#American Airlines Something Special in The Air

What’s the name of this cool song?
Outstanding video!! AMAZING FILMING!!!! WELL DONE!! :-)
What song
I miss these so much! Why can't we see them anymore? I also miss N345AN.
Very nice, also the music I Liked.
Love it!
The rest of their 767 fleet (all of whom are 300ER variants) were retired 6 years afterwards as the airline accelerates the retirement of the older fleet due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thank you for posting. Truly a beautiful bird. End of an era. Enjoy your videos very much. What is the name of the song. Thanks
What music is this?
"Departure" by Naoki Sato.
The best color everrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
what is the music tittle??
What will they be replacing them with?
Great video and awesome song! What is it called?

I always liked the 200 series the best, because it looks like a widebody version of the 707!!! (Minus 2 engines)
I like it.Good videos but may you do more of them?
What's the reason of the retirement?
old age
Sadly, as much as I hate to say it, they were older. This meant they take more fuel than newer more efficient aircraft and they were going to require major maintenance checks. Basically they cost AA more money keeping them then just ordering new more fuel efficient jets.
With some of the 767s reaching thirty years a MASSIVE overhaul would have to be done to keep it in service
Great video!
American flew EVERY version of the 767 Boeing built - the -200, the -300, and the Extended Range (ER) versions of both.
I wonder how good the 767-200(ER) would’ve looked in American Airlines’ new livery.
nice
Great Video!
Love this!
Sorry I meant repainted but it keeps auto correcting me
I like their new livery better. At least they still have the 763s. I just realized US Airways doesn't have any Boeings in their fleet right? Everything is Embraer, CRJs, and Airbus 319 to 340 right?
Okay, thanks!
Slow-mo and music killed the video
SpeedbirdHD . You should do a klm md-11 video
@ikolkyo967, I think you'll like the 767's replacement, the 787 Dreamliner, even better.
Indeed
I want to cry :'(
It is likely the 762 will wear the AA livery once more when the a/c the AA group acquired from US airways are reprinted
I think they will be gone too to be honest
That is a real shame!
This plane looks like Flight 11 crashed in the North Tower of world trade center in September 11, 2001
it’s the same type
The 762 should still be produced by Boeing, i think:P
I'm sad to see them go... I wish they were being replaced with other wide bodies but now they have the A321 T... ugh.
Dramatic music
Who is tired of flying around on those stupid side stick Europe things they call Airbus?
I like American Airlines, but I dont like the music.
Wow, I remembered them when they were new. Boy, I am getting old. My biggest issue with American is the horror show they put the TWA staff through after their acquisition. To this day, I will not fly American.
Too bad US Air ruined AA. AA was such a great airline prior to the merge with US air.
