Apparently the people who criticises has no sense of cultural at all. It is really common in Korea for vendors to sell ramen. Be respectful and stop being so arrogant.
It's exactly because it's so common there that it feels stranger. It would make sense here, since there's not many better alternatives, but over there? You can find a ramen shop that sells ramen 10x better on practically every street corner
I'd also like to point out how despite that stove being super powerful, this wonderful lady has measured the water just right each time so it never boils over. No doubt the amount of water is just right so that it's tasty and not diluted or too salty as well. She even times it down to the second so it doesn't overcook the noodles. That's precision, that's professionalism, and that's why it's a viable business and not something to look down on!
I think the stove is powerful for two reasons. One, quick service. Two, good looking and well tasting ramen. With lesser stove the pot would be hotter at bottom. So water needs to rise to cook ramen and other ingredients such as eggs. But with this stove its getting heat from the sides as well. You can notice how water sizzles in the pot walls right after adding ramen cake.

I don’t know why but there’s just something about seeing elders cooking food for you that just makes you feel at home and happy, they’re honestly so precious 🥺
People realize that this is no different then going out and ordering french fries. It takes like 5 minutes to reheat frozen french fries and chicken nuggets yourself yet you still order them at mcdonald’s because it’s convenient and sometimes you’re craving it while you’re not home.

One of those packs of ramen is around 1.69 in the states and that's not including everything she put in it. It's well worth the money.
This lady can do whatever. If it sells, let her sell it, but the two examples you gave are awful examples. If you ever cooked anything, you would know frying stuff is a pain to deal with the oil during clean up and making thin crepes is hard without having the proper tools. Moreover, the prep is much more time consuming with creating the batter for a crepe. Instant noodles is what I go to when I don't want to make any effort with cooking. It's something I can do in 5 min, prep/cooking/cleanup, unlike fried food or crepes that has a much longer prep or clean up, which is why I think people are baffled at why people would order something like this when the bar for making it yourself is as low as cooking gets.
@@muffindude2087 His point still stands tho "it's worth the money." The packet of noodles is probably almost half of the price of meal cost (in America/Canada), along with the other toppings, the convenience of it ends up costing like a dollar, which is a lot cheaper than the cost of convenience everywhere else.
@@muffindude2087 I think it depends. I don't think making crepes is hard once you make them a few times. All I really need for that is a frying pan and a knife/fingers. People will find different things hard. But It's still nice to get food one enjoys outside of ones home.
I am Colombian and married to a Korean, I prepare the ramen as he taught me, but now I know new ways to cook it for him. Fabulous video and what a unique way to cook lady, I love Korea 🥰
Try using whole milk instead of water. If you use skim milk, I am not responsible for that. Boil the noodles until almost done in water and drain. Now boil the milk with seasonings and veggies of your choice, and add noodles. Thank me later.
Because instant noodles help feed a huge part of the world? Because the number of people starving to death actually dropped a LOT after their invention. Because feeding people is one of the most basic social tasks ever.
Idk why these people are saying she’s using too much water... if you look well it’s clear the pot she’s cooking the ramen in is larger than the one she’s using as a ladle which means she’s actually not even using that much. People so quick to criticize. The tea is this most likely SLAPS 😋
I wish place exsist like this in the states. Would be great near every college campus. They could share space with a cereal vendor. College kids would go crazy.
@@tlyep718 I would agree with you but I live in Chicago. There is a pizza joint every where you go. Would be really nice to go and post up after a drink at a bar or on the way to work to have some fire ramen 🍜 🔥 🍜

This Ahjumma making Ramen, made me so happy! And, my mouth is watering like crazy too! 😊🤤♥️ Guys, she is not just making instant ramen; she is putting lots of toppings, her heart & soul; and love into this. If I had street vendor like this around the corner; I would stop by and order everyday! Even though I myself can cook good ramen but sometimes I don’t have all the ingredients. There’s something about Ramyun tasting extra good when someone else cooks it for you! ♥️
are people actually getting mad at this? y'all do know it specifically says KOREAN street food. it's 1) cheap and filling meal and 2) a pretty reasonable business. a lot of koreans (especially students, the working class, and young adults) live off of instant ramen so it makes sense for some people to make a business out of making instant ramen.
To be fair, people who are living off ramens are not going to food stalls for it, they re making it at home But hey, business is you sell whatever sells, give the people what they want
Ever heard the term break time? Just because people can make it doesnt mean they have the time to do it. People buy stuff like this since they dont have time to cook due to being busy at work
I believe the act of feeding another person, even if it's paid for, is an expression of caring, compassion, and acknowledgment. It is outside affirmation of your own existence. That makes everything better.
The same people who have a problem with instant noodles never complained about paying triple price for alcohol in a bar or restaurant. Her "hacks" with cheese or dumplings just make it home comfort food. Some people don't get it because they never had it. This kind of place is exactly what a university student needs at times. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm thinking the big part of that reason is because you're too lazy to make the noodles taste better by putting the extra effort and ingredients. Do us and your potential BF/husband a favor and just order out.
GplusGains such a positive response *irony*. You didnt even taste this person food. It happened to me that once i did a cake and other people liked, but i prefered a cake that was made by others. Its not like it was bad but there are people who prefer others food

At first I thought this was a bit strange to serve instant noodles but then I realized that I have no problem buying a hotdog from a vendor and that's even easier.
Why are people complaining? If you dont know korean culture please stfu. Instant ramen is like rice to us, we can eat it like every day and is a big staple of our culture and tradition. To find ramen from street vendors is so normal, just because its considered “cheap” in your country doesnt mean it doesnt hold significant value to us. Its like our #1 comfort food and to have street vendors like this woman serve it so us at a reasonable price and very quickly is a blessing
Practically we can cook anything at home. Doesn’t mean when you go to a restaurant its not called “instant” on the menu.. that makes it any different. I’ll come to S.Korea and will patronize from this lovely vendor ❤️

Imagine you are craving ramen when you out but far from home, should you go back home just to make ramen? Lol. But here in my country we have people sell cooked instant noodles (not exactly like korean ramen as korean ramen are expensive here where i live), personally I ate those when I'm out of home and stranded somewhere and it's raining, especially cooked instant noodles tends to be cheaper than other menu lol
@@rchrch4922 some vendors just directly in front of the Chem department at school sell instant stuff, too. Noodles (which you could totally cook at the dorm but don't). Hardboiled egg (ditto). And maybe some fried foods, too.

True but I'm remembering my original purpose of playing it is to glamourize the fact I hardly wanted to eat my ramen packet and its the easiest thing to make RN... Haha
I spent a year and a half in Korea in the 70's. Had lots of great food from street vendors. I like the way she adds fresh vegies ti the pot as well as anything else you would want. That shoud be some great ramen.
Actually, out of all the instant Ramen I've tried, the Korean Shin Ramyun is arguably the best. If you put toppings and add-ons it feels like something you've ordered from a restaurant.

Most food can be made at home yet we still go out to have someone cook it for us. I would buy from her. Look at the love and ingredients she adds to it. I throw mine in water and call it a day. She would see my face often.
You can make burgers at home but they won't taste like burger king or McDonald's. Would they be better? Maybe. Would they Taste worse? Possibly. Instant ramen is tasting the same no matter what. You can throw veggies and a fucking egg in your pot at home with the same small time effort. Don't kid yourself.
That's the perfect way of cooking instant noodle.. Put in the noodle only when the water boiling hard 👍 And need to keep the water boiling along the cooking
For people that are wondering. That whole thing costs around I say $3-4 in terms of Korean currency. A ramen pack can cost $1, she used 1 egg, vegetables, and cheese and she done the whole cooking process. If this was in the U.S. People would be selling this for maybe about $9-12 because of the economy. But I can imagine selling something like this near a college dorm with the same price then maybe they can break and make a profit. But we all know that dream is unlikely.
In Japan, for the same price at a ramen stall, you can get a full bowl of fresh noodles with freshly cooked broth, ramen egg, slices of charsu pork, menma, spring onions, the lot. You’re telling me that a packet of instant noodles and a bit of fresh produce and a fckin slice of kraft single is worth more than that? Let’s not pretend that this is anything more than just laziness.

There's lot of asian restaurants that lets you choose instant noodles as a side dish so it's not that surprising. What is unexpected for me is the fact that in a restaurant setting the same consumer item is used instead of some type of bulk packaging.
It'll cost more to buy the extra ingredients alone in Australia just to have the one ramen. Not for a single person usage unless you plan to use the extra ingredients for other meals before spoilage
Thanks for posting!! My google classroom used this as a lesson. Hard being a cooking class and not being able to cook. Great way to learn other cultures!!

Ran Cheng plus you don’t have to do the cleaning
@@muffindude2087 I think it depends. I don't think making crepes is hard once you make them a few times. All I really need for that is a frying pan and a knife/fingers. People will find different things hard. But It's still nice to get food one enjoys outside of ones home.

Try using whole milk instead of water. If you use skim milk, I am not responsible for that.
Boil the noodles until almost done in water and drain. Now boil the milk with seasonings and veggies of your choice, and add noodles.

Why is it so satisfying to watch someone make instant noodles?
I'm the same way. It relaxes me to watch Asian cooking because it's an art form to me.
Was just thinking 'oh, the things you can do with packet noodles ' I think I am doing well to get a half decent amount of veg in the pot
What u see on this video is definetly not an art. Its just cooking instant noodle with some veggies...
Because instant noodles help feed a huge part of the world? Because the number of people starving to death actually dropped a LOT after their invention. Because feeding people is one of the most basic social tasks ever.
Because you're hungry
Idk why these people are saying she’s using too much water... if you look well it’s clear the pot she’s cooking the ramen in is larger than the one she’s using as a ladle which means she’s actually not even using that much. People so quick to criticize. The tea is this most likely SLAPS 😋

For people that are wondering. That whole thing costs around I say $3-4 in terms of Korean currency. A ramen pack can cost $1, she used 1 egg, vegetables, and cheese and she done the whole cooking process.
