- Bowen Island is a short 20 minute BC Ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver and without a doubt, This is definitely The BEST Day Trip from Vancouver Canada!
Bowen Island is the perfect weekend getaway to unwind, relax, and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were amazed by the wide range of things to do and must eat places on the island. Popular for its great hiking spot, most people travel to hike here to get the best view of the Vancouver City skyline. Bowen Island is approximately 6 km wide by 12 km long and it's convenient to get around and easy to explore with a rented e-bike or scooter. We can't believe why it took us a while to visit Bowen Island, it's the best day trip destination close to Vancouver and we'll definitely hop on a ferry anytime!

My friend is working there teaching a blind people how to manage everything, walk and everything, but he told me that the buses are not ready when he arrived by ferry, is sad that a blind trainer can't have buses and he can't use anything for him and her dog, but he's doing that and I wish you could meet him, he's amazing!

Oh wow so nice! I live in the Netherlands for 20 years and am coming back in September to show my Dutch boyfriend my homeland. I think this is a beautiful alternative to Vancouver Island for a day trip. Makes me kinda emotional aka homesick to see how beautiful it is there 🥰

Wow this video came out on a perfect timing, I really wanted to check out bowen island next week but have no idea what to do there haha! Now I know! Thanks guys! Also just an idea if you guys wanna check those interesting houses in airbnb. There’s a bunch in bc, like you live in a yurt or a treehouse etc. 😄

@@NatandMax You can start your trip in Gibsons, find Molly's Reach-one of the hallmark in the area, it is located in the downtown area as well as the Beachcomber movie location, drive your way to Robert's Creek -lots of camping ground and trails, Davis Bay if you are interested to try crabbing/fishing, Sechelt-to learn about First Nation's History, Smuggler's cove, and more places to camp, hike and lot's of trails to try. When you reach almost the end of the peninsula, you'll find Egmont: home of the Skookumchuk rapids.:)

As always, informative and fun! I am so proud of Max for trying and so glad you took the car and went back to share more of what the island has available! It would definitely be a challenge for me as I don’t drive and definitely could not do the bikes lol. Do they have shuttles (like island buses or something) for those in the same situation like me?!😃.
Thanks Auntie K!❤️ I believe they have a bus that can take you to some of the spots in the island🚌 As soon as you hop off the ferry theres a visitor centre where you can get the schedule of the buses and a map😊🗺

I enjoyed this video sooo much! This is one of my favourite areas (though I’ve only seen the village bit of Bowen) and you shot it so beautifully! Even the ride to the ferries 😊 I cannot wait to come home!! Another area that would be cool for you guys to explore (especially as I've not been there yet!) is the sunshine coast and desolation sound. Also... so cool that Max learned to ride the bike! 🙌🎉🚲

@@NatandMax I want to go kayaking in desolation sound too! About a year ago I watched a cool video about it, and the waters look so calm and the mountains so beautiful. I hope to go kayaking at Deep Cove when I'm up next as an intro sea paddle adventure 😊Yes, the border has been open for us since July, we just haven't made it yet for various reasons. We try for every weekend though!

@@NatandMax yes, I lived on Galiano island and went to high school on Saltspring island. All the Gulf islands have ferry terminals. Just not the little private ones of course.

Hi!👋 So there a dedicated parking lot for the foot passengers. It’s about $20 a day if I remember correctly😊
