Went to have a look at my city's Swatch store and it had a 1000 person queue
The only problem I have with this collab is that I want them all..
I‘d skip the pink and the 2 red ones. Else they got a nice color collection. Would even wear the yellow and Tiffany Blue ones

Love the idea behind these watches, reminds me of when TAG Heuer launched their first Formula 1 series. Sporty, cool colours , quartz movement, affordable and they sold millions of them. I’m sure Omega will too.
Yup, and my happiness with my Formula 1 is the reason I bought an auto Aquaracer. Entry level options only help sales.
I own a Speedy and two more Omegas, big fan of the brand and I love this collab. I can see myself picking up 2 or 3 of these. Just feels like Omega/Swatch having fun trying new, daring things. I could see these watches serving as a gateway to Omega for many who currently see them as out of reach or have been unwilling to pay the premium. Having one of these Speedies on your wrist may just warm you up for the real deal. And hey even if not... you're getting a solid watch either way.

As a broke college student scouring the internet in search of a great bargain of a watch with great history that would fit a small budget, I must say this blew all my choices right out of the water. I will most definitely get this but I'm hoping that swatch prepared a large amount of supply because it's for darn sure this would be the best selling watch of 2022.

I love it. I particularly agree with the comment that this release is the antidote to everything that's wrong with the increasingly exclusionary and toxic luxury watch industry. Bravo Omega x Swatch, you hit a home run with this release and you're making Rolex look very old, staid and pretentious right about now. I've always been an Omega fan and own several, but I'm calling it now - this is going to be great for Omega as a brand, and for the consumers/collectors that value fun and whimsy. Bravo.

Absolutely wonderful. They’ll go perfectly with my Speedy. I grew up wearing Swatches in the 80’s. I loved the fun of the brand. I’ll also love hearing how outraged the Omega snobs will be.
Omega fanboy here! I love this collaboration for all the reasons outlined in the video. I’ve always felt Omega have a more democratic and inclusive approach to other brands (no names mentioned!) but also the big ADs. Of course, they’re still expensive and not everyone can afford them. But if you’re a fan of watches, and obviously Omega in particular, you great service without pretension. This collaboration takes that attitude to the next level. I’ll wait for the hoo-ha to subside and then get on it!
I simply adore this line of watches! It's all about fun and being able to afford a nice looking watch. I will go for either the mission to Mars or the mission to Mercury 😄

From someone that drove 12 hours to/from the Las Vegas Swatch store and stood in line for 12 hours it was totally worth it. (I call it The Mission to Vegas) Time flew so fast in line while talking to other watch nerds and watching the sun come up lol the experience was not bad at all.

I will be on line in NYC on Sunday! Going to get my 2, a Mission to the Moon to sit beside my 1968 Cal. 321 and waffling between the Mission to the Sun or Jupiter. That soft gold hue of Jupiter is so classy but something about that Yellow keeps pulling me back. Can't wait!

You're right it's bold. The watch industry has been this weird mix of pretentious people and nice watches and tiny bits of variety that people get far too excited about. This is the first new thing to happen since I've been paying attention which is about a couple of years.

A good positive review of an innovative launch. I love the effortless rugged fun of the Swatch and I still wear them for outdoor activities. I have a small clutch of higher end mechanicals and I will be delighted (when the heat has died down) to add one of these to my brood...I had not realised that Swatch itself is now referred to as 'nostalgic' - the brand deserves it's place in history. The new release will refresh the industry.
As a consumer who's only been into collecting watches for a few years, I want the MoonSwatch with a passion, but it only makes me want an actual Speedmaster even more. Whoever thinks this will cheapen the Omega brand is far off.

Agreed, as a speedy owner I actually think the downfall currently is they really don’t have many speedy homages. Say what you want homages actually increase the desirability of a watch. People wouldn’t want a sub if it didn’t seem like literally everyone was wearing one. Could be a genius marketing move for omega!

I went to my swatch shop this morning and the queue was mega! It’s just amazing to see such a stampede and excitement over a watch collection. Well done omega and swatch.

I hope they don’t just limit this collaboration to the Moonwatch, this could be just the start of something of bigger future collabs. They could venture to expanding the concept to the Seamaster Omega x Swatch collab too: there are 31 varieties of the Sea theme for them to think about (e.g., Atlantic, Mediterranean, Red, Baltic, Arabian, South China, Celebes, etc). Another one is Railmaster collab series: the likes of Amtrak, British, Eurostar, Trenitalia, Oriental Express, SBB, etc). Better yet, the Constellation collab series would do great with so many possible variants.
I grew up in the 80’s-early 90,s, and the two things that stuck with me as an adult getting into the watch hobby are my grandfather being a truck driver and joking with me about the watch tan lines on his wrist from his arm hanging out the window all day, and swatch watches! I so remember the store display with the bands that you could interchange, the ugly watch guards, and if you were cool, it was fashionable (believe it or not) to were 2 or 3 on one wrist. I personally can’t wait until it’s my moment to be able to purchase one of these.
It's a great marketing ploy and an excellent way of introducing the Omega brand via Swatch to the masses without devaluing the brand identity, bold move and I love it.

Yes!! I remember my first Swatch too!!!! It is what started my watch collecting journey as kid from the 80's!! This is so cool I can not wait to get one of these!!!
I think it’s brilliant! Not only could these possibly serve as a gateway watch, to get many more people interested in Omega, but most people commenting on purchasing them say that want to pick up “a few” of these watches (assuming they eventually become readily available). A few” can very quickly add up, and next thing you know, a large portion of buyers have spent in excess of $1,000….and eventually buy an Omega or two as well.

This is brilliant for Omega, this will get so many teenagers craving the real thing when they get older. Speedmaster sales in 20 years will be off the charts.

Mission To Jupiter feels regal. The colour combination is perfect. Universal colour combination that fits neatly into any colour of the shirt worn.
These are cool the colors are fun and hopefully the younger generation will like it. I think us “senior citizen” watch enthusiasts forget that many people in the younger generation don’t even know how to read a watch and when you ask them why they don’t have a watch they tell you their phone tells them the time or they have a smart watch.
They are all great renditions with wide variety. I'll take Mercury watch with Jupiter central seconds and subdial hands. Gray case, black dial, dark orange accented hands on a black NATO with orange stripe.
Hard to choose a favourite, even after handling, but Mars and Uranus obvious standouts.

You got some really good points, here's my take. The Speedmaster for me is one of my all time favorite watches, a grail of mine that I know one day ill own. Thought this can bring you closer to it, yes its not the original, thought its original in itself. Its unique and a really hype historic moment in the watch community, never have we seen something like this. This has been an amazing marketing, whoever thought about this wow, and they also clearly underestimating the people. This has 2 sides of the coin...flippers and grey market hurts the industry, we can clearly see it here. I hope this isn't limited and in the future they can sell it online. That would be a hit back to all those people, but also feel sad for those who bought it above retail. At the end if this brings more new watch people its amazing. Still its an amazing watch to own in any collection.

I just called swatch, and it's actually not numbered as far as I know,
And get this, it isn't 2 watches per person, it's 2 watches per model, meaning you can get the whole collection x2 per person if you want, crazy!

@@proximate1601 I can't be there, gonna try asking a family member to get it for me, I asked Swatch queensbay as well (the closest swatch to me) and they confirmed it's only Pavillion for now, both boutiques confirmed that these are not limited tho, so if we can't get them on Sat, hopefully it will not be the end of the world :(

I have the NASA Bioceramic Swatch Chrono. I love it, and these look great as well. I don't think it devalues the moon watch at all. It allows more people to enjoy what it represents.
This is a branding exercise. It's a chrono, but there's no Omega parts. Hence no competition to the moonwatch. This is different from Seiko putting Spring drives in Seikos.
Exactly. These aren't going to compete with a mechanical Speedmaster. I've been shopping for one lately, and although I want the Swatch version, that doesn't make me not want the mechanical version still. It's two different things.
How does the Bioceramic feel? Does it feel ceramic or more plasticy?
It’s good because you don’t have to spend hundreds on repairing an automatic movement.
I dont see as a competition either but rather the entry drug to the watch game. A lot of people will buy it and later eventually want the real Omega.

Very difficult to pull it off. One side iconic watch and on the other a once out of the curve, fun watch. I guess this is a come back for swatch and by what I have seen they managed to pull it off. Can't wait to put my hands on a couple of them, especially the moon and pluto ones.

Bold move to leverage on an iconic design and brand at both end of the "luxury" scale to get young people into wrist watches, once its on the wrist and curiosity and interest will "automatically " take over, and could be the start of the love of mechanical watches and ultimately getting the real moonwatch. Brilliant!

Aside from Bullheads and Z-33, this is the first Omega I really want to own!! Amazing idea. I have to go check them out live, see what their quality is like really. I think I might wait for them to introduce the automatic versions though.

In mathematics that also known as "by" as in 2"x4", not simply "times", but... "Omega BY Swatch".
I just can't make a coherent decision which color, I even changed my mind of 3 of the 4 or so that I really didn't like after 12 hours. I want to know how the cases are colored, is it though them or just a coating on the surface like a plating or paint, will it scratch? What's the crystal? What's the movement caliber? I think it's a little large, I wish it was the size of the smaller reduced automatic versions?
I can imagine the Omega people at the meeting with the director of Swatch biting their lips. Having said that I love those! Tomorrow I'll be lining up at the Swatch boutique.

I would love if the green one would be a neon alien green. The blue, black and grey ones are bangers. The yelllow one is very bold, but i‘d wear it now and then.
I’m very surprised to hear that it seems to be Omega that initiated this project and not just Swatch forcing their hand. I quite like a few of the variants here, still I remain conflicted over these new watches. To me they’re not real Omegas at all, just Swatches using a Moonwatch lookalike plastic case and dial. They’re much more affordable than I was expecting though…only $250+ a pop, wow!

Different bezel, and face.. bezel has a different font, different orientation on the markets, only goes up to 400, and is the only non 'DON' on the line-up
