    I went for my first run in the Lone Peak 8 today; it was a revelation for me. Altra offers me a comfortable shoe for my wide feet for the first time ever. Now I’m looking for a road running shoe from Altra.

    Great review. My first pair of trail shoes that I bought 6 months ago, are Lone Peak 6s. Put on and ran a few 5ams straight away, no break in etc and they have been brilliant. I am an old (56), big lad (99kg at start) who has not done ,much running and started the couch to 5k in June. No foot problems, no shin or knee probems with them. Can’t recommend them enough.

    I run mainly on the road. I love the Tempos I find them comfortable, versatile and suit my gait really well. Also have the escalante racers thay where my first Altras and I love them, they feel strangely comfortable to me. I also have the Rivera3 but dont think they really excel in anything, use them sparingly for recovery runs and sometimes for intervals.
    The Vanish carbon is what I use for 'racing' and use regular escalantes 3's for every day walking, they are so comfortable.

    Thank you - I find the Paradigm 7 noisy ! Foot slapping noise. Has anyone had similar experience?

      Are you a heel striker?

      Its got nothing to do with heel striking. I dont get that in other shoes. Its just the type of cushion under forefoot

    What would be the best shoes for a ultra run 100km? 30% offroad and 70% on road. I own a pair of altra superior 5's but i feel i need more cushion so looking for another pair of altras with more cushion.

      Yes, much broader than 'regular' fitting shoes

    Hi I'm a total newbie to running, what's the best zero drop daily running shoe for something durable for me to start off training every day? I am new but I can manage 5km 5 days a week so I want to make sure I'm not going through trainers too much

    • @marathonhandbook
      @marathonhandbook  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So why do you want zero drop?

    • @jamiedyer7782

      So I've always had issues with my ankles and calves and my hips and back since I'm a carpenter. Eventually I realised I prefer not wearing any shoes and with flat shoes a lot of my problems just disapeared, so I got some vivofoots and theyve been brilliant for me. I didnt realise all altra is close to zero drop? Which is good, I'm thinking of trying the outroad 2 because some of the roads near me are basically rough like trails. What do you think? Thanks for replying @@marathonhandbook

      @marathonhandbook In my case i want zero drop because I have condromalatia in my left knee. Using a not running shoe that I had, no pain in my knee, but hard on my plantar fasciitis. I am fed up with this.

      "...Wide-lacing shoes inspired a FootShape™ design. A household toaster oven inspired Balanced Cushioning. FootShape™ and Balanced Cushioning inspired 1,000s of people to purchase brand new, unmodified shoes and take them to a shoe cobbler to hack them up and balance them out. That’s the foundation of Altra Running: innovative, disruptive thinking...."
