Coming from a former member of The Sonic Boom (1990 -93), this was a spectacular show....the arrangements showed teh band's power and technical skills and the DMs and J-Settes show why they are always copied. Loved thsi show ....so proud of my Alma Mater!!!!
Coming back here again after they performed at the Super Bowl halftime for Usher. They manifested and deserved it. My head canon is Usher watched this and said “That’s it. Get them to my show.” MS on top! Jxn forever baby, I grew here and am proud!

That is an overall win for the BOOM. They did the Usher field show and executed very well. Everything that other HBCU bands does, The BOOM will find ways to make it so dominant, no other band will never do. It is a win for JSU.
Agree, the double X was a cool move and very well done. That straight line as you call it is a company front, in this case from 10 to 10 yard line. Also very well executed.
This show is crazy. The way they wrote these songs, the drills, the J-Settes, the slow song. The Sonic Boom of the South is the best band in the country and this show solidified that. They just set a new standard for everybody.
This is highest Level of perfection you can get from a band. They must ALL have a BRAIN of a DOCTOR or some type of SPECIALIST. I would most definitely want them on my team. THE BEST, THE BEST.
Please understand it's not easy to march the whole band in a single line and keep the intervals. And the two straight lines turning, the people on the ends have to take giant steps and maintain spacing. Clapping my hands hard👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Same here. I only marched in high school, so to see how clean the lines are, how good the spacing is, everyone hits the yard lines in 8 exact steps, perfect pinwheels - it's so satisfying to watch.
Understood. When I was in the boom, the taller people were always on the end thats swinging out cuz they could take bigger steps. The shorter person was always the pivot. Not easy by any means but we made it look seamless!! Luv da Boom!!

this year we were blessed with 5 of the finest black men in the south as drum majors and they didnt get all the attention and shine like the drum majors last year. I've been a big fan of the boom since i was in middle school no matter how many times i see them perform live I'm always in awe of crisp and clean the sound is. they deserve every award known 2 man

From the fusion of Blowin’ and Superstar, the J-Settes being integrated in the performance from beginning to end, the drills, and for sure Kevan’s arrangements and the curation of them throughout the show, this was IMPECCABLY done!! Jsettes gave us physical agility, tenacity, acrobatic dance, and stunts that no other dance team did that night.🔥🔥🔥 The band was incredible with precision, drill, show style and swag with no gimmicks or props and that’s why the Sonic Boom of the South is the best band in the land.💙💙💙

To The..excuse me, "THEE Sonic Bomb of The South", The Usher themed show was energetic and entertaining. You set the tone right away with the fanfare, Usher and Blowin' combined. The first thought was, "Blowin' evolved into another form." I enjoyed it, please keep that version in the books, I love it. Your show's drilling was flawless and when you got to the concert number, the musicality, strong sound with balance throughout. Dance routine was live and intense, even after the work you put earlier. The biggest compliment I can extended is that you maintained the theme of the show in it's entirety and performed exceptionally.

I'm in awe of these marching bands. To be able to play instruments and do the choreography at the same time is awesome. And the others who do not play instruments are awesome too in their energy and moves. 👏👏
This is my 1st time watching a band performance on a field. Goodness, quite the show. Those formations were so detailed and spot on. I noticed that the choreography for the dancer's was very exaggerated. Each move was big. Regardless if it was a kick or a hip thrust. That size of a "stage" requires all that exaggeration to be seen. Personally I can't imagine the amount of time involved in creating all the formations, choreography, practice to sync with the music. Great job to everyone involved in this production.
As a Jacksonian I enjoyed every bit of this performance through & through, everything was done with persistence & very well executed. What a great season 😅 🗣️ THEE MFN THRILL !!!! Yes indeed. Usher would be proud 😌🤍💙🩵
I went to this show and was highly impressed with JSU but could not figure out why they chose all Usher songs!! JD and Dallas Austin were both there . In hindsight, it all makes sense now. Congrats and great job!

as a marcher rn it’s hard trust me but it is the best thing i’ve ever done with my life and so much fun and once you get the hang of it it’s easy

I just seen a video of one of the JSU ALUMNI talking about Usher wanting a band to perform with him for 2024 SUPERBOWL halftime show back in OCTOBER of LAST YEAR....he reached out to DR. LITTLE and it went from there 😍🥰.....THAT'S WHY THIS ⬆️ TSBOTS WHOLE FIELDSHOW WAS DEDICATED TO USHER....WHAT A WELL KEPT SECRET....Eventhough they didn't win ESPN BAND OF THE YEAR AND THAT'S OK....BUT LOOK AT GOD...THEY ARE FOREVER KNOWN & REMEMBERED FOR PERFORMING IN THE 2024 SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOW WITH USHER & ALUMNI BAND TOURING WITH J COLE AND DRAKE....ALSO MARCHING IN 2025 ROSE BOWL PARADE in PASADENA, CA...IM GONNA HELP DONATE TOWARDS THAT AS WELL BECAUSE I LOVE YALL REPRESENTING HOME STATE "MISSISSIPPI" AND HBCU's........CONGRATULATIONS TSBOTS AND DR. To The..excuse me, "THEE Sonic Bomb of The South", The Usher themed show was energetic and entertaining. You set the tone right away with the fanfare, Usher and Blowin' combined. The first thought was, "Blowin' evolved into another form." I enjoyed it, please keep that version in the books, I love it. Your show's drilling was flawless and when you got to the concert number, the musicality, strong sound with balance throughout. Dance routine was live and intense, even after the work you put earlier. The biggest compliment I can extended is that you maintained the theme of the show in it's entirety and performed exceptionally.
Been waiting on that scream to come back from 2012 👏🏽🔥 this show was fantastic start to finish.

I'm in awe of these marching bands. To be able to play instruments and do the choreography at the same time is awesome. And the others who do not play instruments are awesome too in their energy and moves. 👏👏

This is my 1st time watching a band performance on a field. Goodness, quite the show. Those formations were so detailed and spot on. I noticed that the choreography for the dancer's was very exaggerated. Each move was big. Regardless if it was a kick or a hip thrust. That size of a "stage" requires all that exaggeration to be seen. Personally I can't imagine the amount of time involved in creating all the formations, choreography, practice to sync with the music. Great job to everyone involved in this production.
As a Jacksonian I enjoyed every bit of this performance through & through, everything was done with persistence & very well executed. What a great season 😅

I went to this show and was highly impressed with JSU but could not figure out why they chose all Usher songs!! JD and Dallas Austin were both there . In hindsight, it all makes sense now. Congrats and great job!
