well, you play a hunter - and a trapper. so, everything involving brainwork is a legitimate hunting strategy. well done! there are so many different ways in this game to kill entire herds in stealth with just 2 or 3 well placed arrows. thats why I love it!
Yea, each time I play it I concoct different ways of killing machines. The last time I finished all the side jobs and errands before I even did the "Heart of Nora" quest. I was at level 50 by then and only had two skills left to get. The remainder of the game was easier with all purple mods.
I'm only assuming but maybe the game has a WTF moment and has to reevaluate the situation before actually permitting the beast to be dead. Thus allowing it to continue it's animation because its normally meant to dive into the ground after that dive attack. Either way however it or why it's hilarious lol.
This here shows exactly why I love the Tripcaster. I didn't care for it as much in the beginning of the game, but holy fuck does it prove it's worth later in the game. Also, I freakin' love watching those Rockbreakers jump to their deaths.
Nice! Will give that a try for fun... What I have found to be fun as well, is with stealth armor outfitted, move up on the rock mound while crouched, and catch the rockbreakers with a triple shot hunter bow strike on the heat exchanger - the square looking object located on top of each. Takes patience, but so much fun, and takes very little resources.

i actually used freeze arrows and precision arrows on both my adept banuk weapons with max damage and max freeze, first i froze the rock breaker and then used three precision arrows at once(it's a skill) and shot the rockbreaker at the back wire like part. I don't know if this was a glitch or not, but the damage was 4000 something and it instant killed the machine. it was the claws beneath daemonic rockbreaker in the cut(side mission).
In a normal rockbreaker fight without time to prepare you shouldn't have any difficulty as soon as you own the Carja Shadow Sling (for Freeze Bombs) and the Tearblaster (disable the digging claws without even having to aim). Once it surfaces you just blast all 4 claws off (takes only 1 shot), spam freeze bombs till it freezes up (3-5 depending on difficulty) and then just spam it with about 20 hardpoint arrows till it dies, one arrow should do 176 dmg on non-critical hits (hard difficulty)
They must've changed it then cause I ran into 2 on normal difficulty and each took multiple tearblast shots per leg. And this was before I had the perk to load multiple arrows at once so it was mad difficult trying to beat them. Especially when one shoots from a distance and one charges you :/
Nice that will help loads when I get to them. I've only just came back to PS4 been on Xbox 1 last few years, new god of war and days gone have made me buy PS4 and am now playing horizon.
Why is something considered OP just because it works effectively? I mean you did put like seven bombs close together, what do you think is going to happen. Still cool vid
Because an otherwise difficult fight that would result in a lot of used up resources, potions, running around, and dodging is reduced to instant kills.
i enjoy a more kinetic playstyle. my favorite way is to kill these is knock off all the components starting with feet with the tearblaster. this prevents it from burrowing. then freeze it with sling or ice rail. if you get the adept rattler on 18 dmg, 4 tear per bolt with 250 handling, empty the magazine and enemy is a trash pile before the freeze effect wears off, even on ultra hard. v satisfying.

Especially when one shoots from a distance and one charges you :/

the explosion was so strong the rockbreaker thought it was still alive lol

Why is something considered OP just because it works effectively? I mean you did put like seven bombs close together, what do you think is going to happen. Still cool vid
Because an otherwise difficult fight that would result in a lot of used up resources, potions, running around, and dodging is reduced to instant kills.
