    Reminder that British history has always been 99.9% white European even before it broke off from the continent and became it's own Island. For thousands of years British history has been the history of a handful of Northern European tribes who gave birth to our nation today.

      You can't be British, because if you were you'd know for the majority of time Britain was pagan, long before christianity started to spread.
      Bronze age were pagan, iron age were pagan, Roman Britain was pagan, Saxon Britain was pagan, christianity didn't start to spread until the mid Saxon era.
      I'm not Christian, Britain isn't a very religious country tbh .
      I don't believe in white, pink , blue or black jesus.

      @@kevwhufc8640Being British or non British has no bearing on knowledge.
      In common understanding I don't believe that blue people exist, unless you believe in the Andorrians from Star Trek. That would be fantasy would it not?
      To address your point about paganism it maybe worth looking into the author Ean Begg, you will find some interesting information that may cause you to reevaluate your understanding of the icons worshipped during what's called Paganism.
      Lastly if you clicked on the video link I posted you may want to question fantasy or not why both popes are praying before a Black female icon namely the Black Madonna.

      Give me an example from the book ,
      I don't believe in the jewish / christian God or jesus or pagan gods .
      So I can't reevaluate something that I don't believe .
      As for the black Popes or whatever who cares, in medieval times they had two popes ,
      It's a nonsense that some people believe in for comfort
      Because they don't want to accept the fact that we live then we die , that's it .

    Watch History Debunked talks about slavery by Simon Webb too. Abolition compensation meant that slavery was stopped, not that it was ok. There were also many white slaves on ships who suffered terribly, and effective slaves on the land and in service. Many other countries had slaves at the same time as the UK, so it’s not just a white issue but a sign of the widespread views of the time, which we rightly condemn now. She was absolutely adamant that she had never seen a black person before 1943 when black GIs came over as part of the US armed forces. She told me people were so curious, they used to queue up at the fence outside the barracks just to try and catch a glimpse. No-one had seen a non-white person before and there was an element of fear.

    That is what you claimed in your book. Your claims however are based on nothing but pure lies and ignorance. You gave the false impression that the presence of "african" people in the Roman Britain automatically means black people. In reality, the term "african" can be much broader; We know that Berbers and Phonecians were present in small numbers in Britain during the Roman times. These people were defiently africans living in North Africa, but they were not black! Either your intepretation of the sources that mentions the presence of these peoples in Britain were wrong, or you are deliberately spreading lies. Enthusiasm for Islam may have waned in favour of cults like Rastafarianism but black people assume Arabic names and clothes.unaware.that the Muslim religion was involved in slavery and oppression and did little to lift its oppression. There may well have been a couple of black Roman soldiers in Britain but exaggerating the presence and contribution of black people to Britain is rewriting history. This country was built by the blood, sweat and tears of settled white people over centuries before sugar or cotton even became valued commodities. And yes - we did have to pay off the slave owners (including all the black slave owners) - in order to end the transatlantic slave trade. Would you rather we left you be? There were many other slave trades too of course, where white people were enslaved - but that doesn’t fit with your victim narrative.

    • @wiz59
      @wiz59 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What black Roman soldiers in Britain are you specifically referring to? From my understanding, there have been no black Roman legions at all anywhere to be found in Britain and in fact there is a circulating lie of how there have been a few of them guarding Hadrian’s Wall which is a complete fabrication.
      I take one part of an extract sourced from David Olusoga’s volume-the man who you saw on the video going on about how black people have always been on this island for centuries-dedicated to how Aurelian Moors or what he describes them as black Africans defending Hadrian’s Wall. By the way this book was intended for children to read.
      I’m afraid that this point is an intentional dishonest act of implanting muddled up myths into the minds of children. Aurelian Moors are people who come from the Roman province of Mauritania within the coastal area of modern Morocco, they were not black people at all, they were berbers composed of people as white as Turks and there’s evidence for this which suggests that their blood is from that of the Europoid race and not black African.

Then we have contemporary biographical sources the best known in the 19th C being Dickens along with the likes of Engel's and Marx. If there had been a large immigrant population why aren't they mentioned by diarists like Pepys? He was secretary to the navy and visited the likely places where such populations could form the seaports during the 17thC after the restoration. So please knock yourself out Tawana, you wanted sources there you go, if you do get back to me and we can continue this. The Ivory Bangle Lady from York was probably North African, ie, Berber or Moorish, not what we'd call Black today. People from North Africa are often referred to as White by people in sub-Saharan Africa. John Blanke is noted because he was unusual. His name is probably a corruption of 'blanche' or 'blanc', meaning white. In other words, he was being called the Tudor equivalent of Chalky.
    Yes, there have always been a few Black individuals in the British Isles, but to suggest that there has always been a Black community is just plain wrong and dishonest. There is also the issue of definition. Most 'Black' Romans would have been from North Africa or the Eastern Mediterranean, modern Algeria, Libya, Morocco or Egypt; Black in Roman terms, but not in the sense used today.

    • @gratefuldead3750

      @Commie Hunterhahaha of course some African nations had the wheel. When Caeser fought the nubians of course the nubians had wheels and chariots. Caesar lost in the campaign against the candaces from nubia.
      Old Ghana and Mali of course also had wheels. Also meroe, kush, Ethiopia etc. And written languages were also there. The meroitic writing is still not deciphered and there are the ethiopian written languages.
      And the western Africans used the Arabic alphabet since the 9th century, the Hausa, the malians, senegalese etc. . The western and Central Europeans also didn't invent a language. The roots of most writen languages used in Europe today are based on greek and Latin. And greek has its roots in phonician writing as well as Hebrew and Arabic.

    Second one of the reasons the British ended slavery was also due to slave revolt during the colonial era in the Caribbean were slaves would kill off slave owners and burn down plantations as well as defeat European colonial militias, slave rebellions would happen so often even on slave ships where they took over an entire ship and sailed to a to a country where slavery was abolished and if happened so frequently ( over 400 recorded slave revolts to be exact) that they had to assign this thing called policy taxes in case of more slave insurrections to protect their acre of land from bring invaded and overrun by the maroons

      If that was the reason why did we devote 5% of the navy to preventing slavery for about 70 years hence? Which was hugely expensive and led to many men being killed. It was also hugely expensive to compensate slave owners, 20% of our GDP or something.

    This kind of content is what should make people particularly proud of NOT paying a BBC licence: utter revisionist drivel of the highest (or lowest, depending from your perspective) Orwellian grade! Worst part of it, it just sound patronising like saying "ah, poor chronic underachievers - here is some participation trophy for you and, uh, the (fake) invention of peanut butter we are still glad about!".
    By points:
    * Stonehenge's time had people who were more akin genetically to Sardinians than to actual Africans;
    * of course Romans had also African troops, but they were mostly North Africans (which means: basically as black as me!) from their conquered lands of Carthage (modern day Tunisia), Egypt, etc. - and it was very unlikely they would move those troops en masse all the way to the North;
    * Julius Caesar himself and other historians actually chronicle pretty well how Britannia was reached and conquered, mostly using of course Nordic legions, because - again - travelling long distances was very risky, not to mention extremely onerous on a barely subsistence economy (with a legion easily averaging over 6k men, plus merchants, peddlers, prostitutes, cattle);
    * John Blanke was an exception and again probably not sub-Saharian, brought in as an attendant of some royalty;
    * history is history: if you think black history is not taught, you are being sectarian, tribalist and needlessly divisive, without even figuring out who was more impactful on this country - Asian or Indian figures are also less mentioned because, guess what: the Dragon Queen was a scourge for Chinese people, but did not really impact British people much!
    What a farce the BBC has become, under the collective woke overmind of middle class midwits!

      Yes you now have people saying that the Roman Empire which Jesus came to was some kind of earlier version of the multi cultural society we now possess. It certainly was not. It involved the dominance of Roman's and was more like the British Empire than what now prevails. Certain races were oppressed and enslaved and there was taxation and rule by an elite. Having mentioned Jesus there is little evidence that He sought or preached societal revolution and wished to free His country from occupation. That the past is not the present is harsh doctrine.
