Challenge: The rest of the group is lied to and only the first 2 know what's really being made. The other 3 have to either pick up on what's being made or try to put this random dish back on track to what they've been told.

At my old restaurant job, honestly I spent most of my time sharpening knives or tying my apron. I helped other people tie their aprons too. Bloody anything that prevents me from starting that order of 20 tuna tartars

The only interesting thing in that dish was the start of a pseudo patatas bravas he created, by accident for sure, but still.
That very early pass it on video where Mike criticised that they were a cooking channel and they are making a burger - that applies here too. Sausage egg muffin sandwich is a barely glorified burger that anyone can make and is entirely uninspiring. Except this time they were also making fries. Brill.
The miss was Ben not taking what was inherited as a starting point to convert the dish into something more rounded. I would have fried off the patty meat, dicing it ready for Mike to pick up, then blasting the bravas under the grill with eggs asap for Mike to finish and plate half way through his ten minutes. I am sure there are better cheffier options for the sausage patties. Time remaining start to pull together a simple side salad.
A creamy soft yolk baked egg, texture from the grilled crispy bacon and sausage meat, some kind of simple fresh green side side with plenty of avo and a light acidic dressing to balance out the spicy sauce - much better and hangs together into a solid brunch.
Instead they ended up with two dishes that didnt make sense together, neither complimented the other and it didnt hang together as a meal. It was just two contrasting entirely different food things on a plate, and was served in such a way that there was nothing in there to balance out the spice of the sauce because it didnt eat as a single meal.

I'm with Janice. I can't see how 3 different sausages mixed together and fried, served with fried eggs and mushrooms and some sort of mutant Patatas Bravas that took 3 experienced cooks and 2 professional chefs 50 minutes to make constitutes a pass. Jamie's optimistic self-scoring is always a highlight in these pass-it-on challenges though 😁
I usually think James is too harsh in his judgment of these, but he was spot on this time. Agreed, it was a fail, especially because SOMEONE ruined the home fries! Seriously, that tomato sauce would've made a brilliant salsa dip for any component in that dish before he destroyed everything.
James's "that's ok, dude" to Mike is so wholesome. ☺

Damn, just how large is the stock of videos you guys regularly film. The amount of "filmed before lockdown" seems never ending, not that im complaining.
It was an exhausting few weeks, worth it though! It probably seems like we have more, as we have mixed in some videos filmed in isolation too.

Similar to the idea few episodes ago. The one with the tools, but with the ingredients for the next one, so no one chooses ingredients to use themself. Each member can only cook with the ingredients that are provided from earlier members that cooked. At the end of each cooktime they can add a set amount of ingredients. The person going last can choose their ingredients at the beginning to start the process.
Possible number of ingredients: 5,4,3,2,1
And all ingredients must be used if you prefer the extra challenge.
This should represent a bit of looking in the fridge and needing to decide what you can do with what you have
Ohh, I like this. Whoever goes last chooses 2 ingredients for the first person, each additional person chooses one ingredient to use themselves and 2 more ingredients for the next person.
Theme: Pass it on Battle
2 teams: 1 chef and 1 normal, jamie to judge.
15 minutes per person (30 mins per team) and I feel like the ingredients should be varied to the point where many main courses could be an option

I just made a similar suggestion before seeing this , would definitely take on the "pass it on" in an interesting direction
You could even make a variation of this for quarantine. One person buys ingredients for the other and he has to guess what the first guy wanted him to make, and the odd man out judges both teams.
@@Kris_Toffer that could be good for lockdown. One chef could send one normal a box of ingredients and get them to cook. Same for the other chef and the other normal. Then judge based on the food and how close they stuck to the original idea of the chef haha

Just want to say a big thank you to you guys for keeping me reasonably sane during lockdown. I must have watched at least two thirds of the videos over the last 10 weeks. Never thought of pitching a TV show? Epic road trip every episode, throw in a couple of other elements like the gadget tests and pass it on, then it's a good hour's show. You could be the Top Gear of food.

Order: count up the score they gave themselves, the one with the most score goes first and so on, so basically the most confident one goes first.

Wasn't this done early in the season? I think it ended up being Ben who rated himself the most highly on average (as he should).

I have already watched it 3 times today!! Dear Sorted family, thank you for bring us so much joy. Today I lost one my co workers due to cancer, a friend due to the COV 19 virus, and my work life is going crazy. I like it has been a Jamie type of day “I made decisions and deserve a 8.3 for that”

I would really love to eat this at home, but that being said, this was a pass in the same way I passed my highschool exams. Doing barely the minimum, squeeking by and telling yourself nobody will look at the actual grades anyway for the rest of your life 😂
