I'm not even all that into watches, but I sure can appreciate a calm, measured narrator and deep-dive technical explanations.10/10 would subscribe again.
:) I love horology but these videos go way beyond that. I'm trying to get my friends to watch them but they're resisting, they think I'm being boring about watches again but really I'm trying to bring some tranquility into they're lives, while they feast their eyes on some sublime visuals.... And if that leads into a gateway of loving watches then it's their own fault lol.
You are going to cost me a fortune. I can see me living in absolute poverty with the finest watch collection.
No tv, no couch. Just a mattres and a box with old clothes, and right next to the mattres, a small vault. Atop of which sits a half empty can of beans with an old spoon sticking out of it. Besides that lays a watch, a patek phillipe perpetual calender.

Brilliant watch... Chopard is really a killer! The mille Miglia is just fantastic..
Girard Perrigaux are one of the most underrated watches available and in a class of their own. They even engineer their own bracelets and are streets ahead of Rolex. You can get a chronograph for as little as £2,000 but make sure it's been serviced by Swiss Tech.
The chopard and Jaeger le courtre looks very lovely.
Seriously guys, like there are not enough watches I want! That Chopard is an instant hit for me. I've been looking for a GMT watch for the collection and other than a bubble back with a California dial, I just don't like Rolex. They're fantastic; I just don't their popularity as status symbols. The Chopard is the perfect alternative to the Rolex GMT without making feel like an asshole.

I love these types of videos, exposing lesser known/underrated brands. I like to try to be different in my style and go with something lesser mainstream. Like sure I could look at a Rolex, Cartier, IWC etc etc but in a world where everyone wears the same thing it's nice to have something lesser known, something that can spark a conversation.
That Jlc needs its chrono seconds aligned
I wouldn't buy a Seiko because of this sort of thing, and to think people would take it up on a JLC... Nope

Lovely watches all and I'd be delighted to own any of them. But, as they are presented as value purchases, recognizing some of us have limited budgets and frugal tendencies, I would be concerned about the cost of ownership and their robustness. A watch with more than 200 parts sounds like recipe for breakdowns. Even at these prices they remain a dream for me, not that they aren't good value. Oh well...

Great video, that Chopard LUC rocks. I believe an option to get an underrated watch with great craftsmanship and affordable tag price is to consider some of the collaborations with carmakers. The Ferrari GP, Panerai etc.

If I had to pick one it would be the GP Laureato EVO3 no question, but the case back on the JLC Master Compressor is a work of art!
Wow guys! Fantastic video! GP, JLC, GO are those connoisseur watches since they are not popular but have fantastic history! I love GP and JLC because of it, however, that LUC Chopard GMT stole the show it is gorgeous!

For most people, the cost of the watch isn't the only thing stopping them. The cost of ownership is going to be outrageous on these. The big reason you don't see a Ferrari F355 very often, even though it's less than a new pickup truck, the cost of ownership is just too expensive over the long term
No it isn't, at most it will be an average of $100 a year for watches in this price range.

lol, not quite. Complicated in-house movements are going to start around $1,000, going up to $5,000. Service is likely not needed more than once every 5 years. But if something goes wrong (and it often does) you are screwed. You'll most likely have to see the AD, have them send it back to the factory, and be out $1500+ (and no watch for 2-4 months).
JLC service price for a master chronograph is only 750 Euro,

It doesn't "beg" the question. It raises the question. It's a simple dial, not a "simplistic" one.
Love the Girard and quite like the Chopard but couldn't live with it because they forgot the apostrophe, as in L.U.C it would set off the crazy in me every time I looked at it. Another good video by the way.

How about the Zenith ElPrimero. 3k gets you a legendary watch who's movement was used in the first generation Daytona which are now changing hands for the price of new a mid range Honda..
beautiful watches especially the Chopard if it only was smaller... just a smidgin. You are always asking what watch next, this time I will answer: how about a video about the Fifty Fathom by Blancpain? Some kind of a forgotten diver in the shadow of the Submariner but with much history and pedigree

It bugs me that the JLC's chronograph hand doesn't perfectly line up with the 12!
I've noticed this in a lot of high end cronographs. One of the reasons, along with not being able to afford a lot of them, why I can never own one! It would drive me mad...

I live near a place that has a Chopard and a Girard Perregaux dealers. I often look at their watches and think how beautiful they are. After watching this I’m tempted to buy them.

The Steinhart Ocean One is a really nice looking and great watch for the price, best value for money period
Got a Chopard LUC Sport 2000 with the all-inhouse 4.96 movement, it ticked the boxes, price was right ... However Service is Chopard ONLY for estimated 1000-1500 USD. Just something to consider when shopping for inhouse bargains.
That chopard is a thing of beauty.
For me, the Christopher Ward C60 Trident 600 Pro is my underrated bargain. Quality far exceeding its price.

Excellent callouts here. For their price points, they definitely offer more pedigree than you'll usually find with some of the other big brands.

That misaligned chronograph hand in the JLC though
My simple requirements are these. Legibility, with clear numerals and hands, in daylight or in the dark. Accuracy. And affordability. Even fulfilling those requirement (these shown in this video do not), a watch can be beautiful, and admired.

Beautiful videos throughout and always. I liked the third model, Chopard. Chopard was currently on my mind as I had seen them recently at a classic cars motorsport in Monaco.

Love all three, with the Chopard as my total favorite...gorgeous! Good point to note though, is maintenance costs! My Seamaster cost $600.00 for a full service, so what's one of these going to cost to keep running?

Chopard LUC was the best of the three.. But JLC is a too good to be ignored and Girad Perregaux is legend in its own right...

My $115 Seiko Sportura 'Honda F1' edition of more than 12 years is still running accurately and definitely water proof despite daily usage. How about that for an underrated watch!

I'm not much for chronographs...but that JLC is astonishing. Wow, I'm actually shortlisting this right now. Had been looking into a PAnerai PAM190 (JLC 8-days movement), but I've already got a Luminor...so this might be the next acquisition.
Great video but at $3k is still too much for me, I think I’ll just go for the Apple Watch which is cheaper and tracks my heart rate which is more important to me at my age.
