      I've seen the same optical effect on other videos too, especially when it comes to a central chrono hand and chrono gears - sometimes they appear to stagger. I've come to a conclusion that it's due to frame rates at which the video was shot vs my display refresh rate. I doubt it's the movement's fault.

A great watch is as simple as a drop of water and yet as huge as the ocean, as little as a breath we inhale or as vast as the space, this tiny "tic tock " in-between them hold the very eternity !!!!! Just one point though , in all your videos in the introduction , you mention about subscribing, in that is a very minor correction- "if you already Have " and not "are" … I couldn't help but to share with you, for you are describing - attention to details, passion ,craftsmanship - I hope you take it in the right spirit. Very nice watch, but the aesthetic just isn’t doing it for me, and maybe I am not alone & that along with branding is the reason for the price. If they made this dial more minimal with everything you outline, I would likely consider one. Love your videos btw. One small issue is the omnipresent bumper music. You’ve got a good speaking voice and the content is always excellent. There is no need to have the music continually playing. It is a small detractor, even if you do lower the volume on it.

    That flicker looks like it has to be the frame rate of the camera.
    The balance spring at 5'17" is doing the same thing, and the pictures look weird, which wouldn't happen if what we are seeing was real.
    The frame rate and "tick rate" (?) are not quite in sync, that gives the intermittency.

    What's with the janky second hand and its jerky movement? Is that a defective watch?? Certainly makes me want to avoid that watch.

    • @jayrothman7281
      @jayrothman7281 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Corn Fed the seconds hand is probably indirectly driven- meaning the movement was designed to have sub seconds and it was modified to have a large running seconds. Because it adds a gear there can be a stutter which I think detracts from the watch as a whole. This in combination with a lower beat rate (probably 21,600 bph) leads to the seconds hand acting like this and because this is the movements architecture this is probably the smoothest it’ll get.

    Yeah, nope. It's a great looking piece, and I love the finished tones of the movement. The deep copper look of the balance wheel is gorgeous, and the purple light you caught highlighting what's beneath was (as per usual for your photography) amazing. But I have a Red Star chronograph that I never wear anymore because the CHRONO seconds (which I rarely even use) moves, stutters and jumps, just like the one in this video, drives me freaking batty. If I can't stomach that in a P.O.S. $300 Chinese knock off, I certainly can't abide it in a four figure L.U.C.
    Guess I'll keep searching!
    Lovely video as always.
