Just re-watched this and it just shows that the fish will tell you what they want - if you're listening :-) Had a session this morning where I got onto a school of bream and while they were on the bite I deliberately changed lure colour, exact same lure just different colours, They were fixated on and olive green 38mm crank, but wouldn't have a bar of the black or transparent/black stripe colours. So of course I kept chucking the olive green :-) Was originally throwing surface, but they would only take a mid running crank in the olive green. So frustrating, but so rewarding when you "crack the code". Keep up the great videos John. Pete...
Hi John, notice that you're throwing a pretty light lure in the Splash Prawn with your baitcaster setup. You called it as a Shimano Curado 200. Is it the the K or HG and what rod was it paired with? Thanks...
Hi Pete. It was an early model 200 curado. Like a G or something. That said mate it was tough going. I didn’t have a spinning outfit in the boat so I made do.
Another great video , showing easy casting techniques. Can you please tell me the brand and name of the fizzer please, keep up the great vids. Thanks Geoff
Love the MMD Splash Prawn, what an wonderfully thought out design. I'm not sure if this works for your area, however I've found on the Sunny Coast when the Jack bite slows if I switch to a lure with a similar coppery red of a Jack I start to get hit more....maybe it's a territorial aggression strike, maybe. Here's hoping coppery red is one of the new colours in the MMD S/Prawn range. If possible Mate, could you recommend a decent set of multi-purpose fishing pliers, if you can't that's all good? Cheers for another great vid. 👍🏼
Thanks for your interest Bill. That’s super interesting re. The red for Jacks and Jack style finishes. I definitely think you’re onto something there. I’ll have to try that concept out a bit more. It’s not the first time I’ve heard someone making that comment which tells me something. I tend to buy a few pairs of quality stainless nail clippers for cutting braid.
Did you sleep on your boat deck the night before? lol Whats with the pa-jay-jay pants Not gonna lie, I've fished late in to the night, bungied our sleeping bags to the deck and slept on the boat so we would already be on the water as the sun came up at 430 lol Absolutely great times.....
Hahaaa. Cheers Pete. Thanks for your continued interest in my vids. It’s been great to hear people like yourself are enjoying em. If everything keeps going well it won’t be long and I’ll be up the front of my tinny celebrating semi nude again! Hahaha. Probably should be the last I talk of it though haha
what rod and reel setup are you using there John?

Heddon dying flutter hands down one of the best fizzers
Good to hear mate I’ll have to get on it
I envy your casting ability. It’s truely admirable
Cheers mate. Stoked to hear you’re enjoying watching ;) chasing Jacks for a long time now is to blame for my casting I reckon.
Something you could do to help is just go casting. Even if it’s low tide as long as there’s no wind, take a bunch of cheapy lures and just cast.
Good to see you kept your pant on this time mate!
Watching you cast is like watching a true artist of his craft :-)
