The 2 hours spent falling off the boats were worthless! Years of academy training wasted...
Not gonna lie, the whole process of getting Yoshi to that pipe the "proper" way was difficult for me as a kid.
Then one day I buckle down and finally do it only to experience one of the most disappointing things I've ever seen in a video game. I wish I knew about this glitch way back then but the internet was still pretty small.
Worst part about that bonus (more like bogus!) stage is the pipe at the end seeming like a possible restart option but it warps you back to Delfino Plaza. Garbage design choices were made.
It's an easier time getting to a hard time, it's still convenient though!
And we still get the fruit back!

It's almost as if the devs really went out of their way to tell us not to do this lilypad stage.
I love the Lilly Pad stage, played so many times, I'm just used to it. Easy tip, go slow and jump onto the sides when the Lilly Pad starts to deteriorate. Then back track, or if you're brave enough jump and try to get the other red coins.
But what if you run out of water?
@@Chaos89P I usually beat this place at a quarter of a tank, if you can do it right, you can ration the water and beat it easy.
But the worst thing is, it's time limited. The lily pad will sink over time. Tried at least 20 times and still can't do it
I guess they don't float down there. Some constantly hop.

This is a good example of how this game had some interesting ideas for challenges that weren't executed in the best way. Losing Yoshi on this one was only a challenge of my patience!

I was looking for this glitch yesterday, had to look up an old Glitchfest
One of the best glitches ever. I have not done this the intended way since I found out about this.
This is such an easy glitch! Anyone who hasn't tried it is missing out.

@Bas Voet Skip the coins, full send on the lilypad to the end, jump on the platform, and go over the back edge. The water won't poison you on the back side of the platform so hop down and go through the grates on the backside. You'll also be walking underwater like this video, and a QUICK jump will let you get each coin. Just be careful because if you're in the air for more than a second you'll die instantly. Work your way backwards getting the coins, then ride the next lilypad back to the platform to get the shine sprite.
The person that made the intentional way to get to the Lily Pad course to ride slow boats needs to be fired.
Ive finished Super Mario Sunshine lately on my switch and that level was the most annoying. It took me about 30min to get on that island of pure frustration. Now I hope at the next playthrough this glitch will make my life easier!

idk why but one of my favorite glitches in any game is running under water.
in gta san andreas coop this was even more amazing as player 1 was swimming like normal while player 2 was able to walk under water and even set fire.
(if you ever wanna do a vid on that and need to know how its done let me know andy, its super easy, even easier than the clip you did in this vid)

I found a glitch! It involves Yoshi. (Glitch in mario sunshine) use his tongue to grab a fruit. As he is dragging the fruit to eat it, dismount Yoshi. If you did it correctly, the fruit should be floating. If you use his tongue again, the fruit will magically teleport to Yoshi's tongue. Try it! It is pretty easy and fun to mess around with! I can only say one more thing... Yoshi REALLY needs to go a diet. :)
Fortunately there’s a glitch for the Lilly pad stage: go to the very end and you can get under the death plane by the bars on the way out. You can just barely jump high enough for the coins. Jump near one of the sides to hang on the edge and climb out. (I’d love to see this glitch done as well because it’d be so cathartic to just cheese the entire Lillypad of Death)
This glitch is the reason I have never got to this level the intended way.

Yesterday I had just gotten all 120 shines on this game :D and I started a new save (File B) and so far I have 38 shines on it.
I actually got this Shine second try on Switch, after 15 years of not playing the game :)
Still, I'm gonna go back and play it again just try some of the glitches from the channel
Hey a start I noticed a softlok in Sonic 2 if you get to the section after the top of the zone before the death egg and go up without grabbing onto anything you get stuck under the top and can't go anywhere I was playing on mobile by the way

I still to this day cannot believe someone at Nintendo decided it was a good idea to make this awful escort mission boat ride, and your reward is an even more awful minigame. An awful minigame that, if you fail and game over, you have to do the entire boat ride again! 🤪

Not Isle Delfino Yoshis. I don't remember the threshold, but if it's deep, Yoshi'll "drown."
They touch the water even a little bit and they go away
@@Chaos89P That's because they're not real Yoshis. They're made using the magic paintbrush by Bowser Jr., which is why when you see them touch water they disintegrate into what looks like paint. This is also why Shadow Mario is weak to water. Even if he looks like water, that's still just the paint goop stuff. That doesn't explain why Shadow Mario is able to swim in levels of the game, though...
