Based on the reveals atm I'm looking at Iridan, Tornus, 2x reinforced Procesutors and 2x reinforced Relucians in the Ruination Army of Renown, plus whatever I can fit in points wise.
@@AoSCoach a few folks are already saying that since the books were made well before the recent FAQ/Errata that the FAQs supercede the book in this instance.
someone buy gw a calculator please, why are stormstrike palladors doing straight up less damage than vanguard while being 6" slower. Its 3 chaos knights profiles instead of 5 and they're going to price them like its 5.
@@RyanPST88 I'll believe that when I see it. I fully expect them to cost 10 more given their track record. Regardless having them fight worse is against the units narrative spot. Their output is actually straight up bad for a charge profile though, like not even impressive at 190. So their best case scenario is mobile anvil.
@rotm4447 the idea is that the enemy has fought, killed your screen, double turned and then charged something else and you can countercharge and then you go for a normal turn. And if you're hoping for that, I've got some magic beans to sell you...
The Lord-Relictor is kind of related to the Ruination chamber. The night version is chosen as a hero, for your regiment, only allows warrior chamber units while the Lord Relictor allows Warrior and Ruination Chamber units. The new SCE faction terrain is pretty much an auto purchase since it costs zero points to deploy it in game.
If Stormstrike palladors are 30+ points cheaper than shock hand axes I could see myself using either. Their output is quite comparable if the mounts go down to a 4+s to hit. Also the guaranteed strike first is great, just factor that into the cost of the unit. A 5 man screen of vindictors is only slightly more expensive than gryph hounds and has more speed bump potential. It's a game of attrition, you are going to lose units either way, might as well get a bonus for it.
You two are pretty optimistic about the new heroes. I guess it mostly comes down to points. But I do not like crucial abilities depending on a 3+ roll, for example. I am sure that hit roll on the new Palladors is a typo and should be 4+ instead of 5+. Every other gryph-charger (both hero and non-hero) hits on 4+.
Have missed out on almost the entirety of 3rd edition games, now looking sth good on the 4th. Hope to see some tasty new changes of the existing units.
If storm strike palladors are costed at like 180 or something like other smaller cavalry, THEN I think these would be very exciting to be able to field
im so sad about the gryphounds nerf. Loved that they proved the thunderstrike buf while also fitted the warrior chamber theme. Now im forced to grab a hero and unit from a different chamber. That +1 to hit was already not great because we got all out attack and vigilors. Feel like our subfactions are sad as it is now. Also hoped for better palladors. They feel so underwelming for sce cav. Stormcoven is cool but for 210 points i feel they still not worth it.
@@maximem.ste-marie3578 Good stuff, agree that points are important. Regardless, I was hoping for more damage output from the greatest champions of the mortal realms.
Dont know why people thought the Relictor would be Ruination Knight wasnt and Lord Veritant already is So Ruination already has its generic priest Btw, good work coach :)
Stormstrike Palladors can potentially strike first, and they can have a Musician + Standard Bearer My guess is that is why the damage output is otherwise so similar to Vanguard Palladors (I think a tad less) You take it for a slightly different use Also, now each chamber (except Ruination) has a cavalry option ((although the Ruination builds tend to allow for Warrior Chamber units))
Iridan and the new Lord Vigilant have absolutely garbage rules. Iridan has a massive axe with... D3 damage! Can't have them deal 3 damage flat, no no no. They are Priest with no bonus to chanting, a bad prayer that only casts on a 4+ and only heals after the unit fought and only THEN gives the 6+ ward. Why is it that so many rules for SCE have like 3 conditions that must be met before they trigger? And Seasons of War already confirmed that Iridan is over 300p which is just rediculous for the Warscroll. They deal about 10 damage to a unit with a 4+ Save! It's just sad seeing how little flavour there is in our book. So many units feel or do the same and the internal balance is just bad.
Just as a heads-up because some people maybe didn't pick up on it while reading the warcom articles and lore and stuff, Iridan's pronouns are actually they/them. I was kind of surprised after in the intro attention was drawn to Stormcast championing diversity, to hear the first confirmed NB Stormcast character get misgendered throughout the video... 😅
FYI: Incase we misspoke, Tornus is 6d6+3 rally, not 9d6. Also, Stormcoven can’t use Place of Power because they aren’t heroes
Also place of power is HERO keyworded so units cannot use it unfortunately.
@@ChaoticFrog123 heroes are still units so you mean non hero units.
As always, AoS Coach is an absolute LEGEND!!!!
I hope you can cover some of the PtG stuff 😁
Maybe when I learn PTG. I don’t play it

Praetor patch note on day 1 I assume
I hope so. I don’t like the ability being removed
@@AoSCoach a few folks are already saying that since the books were made well before the recent FAQ/Errata that the FAQs supercede the book in this instance.
I think you could just TP them close to Krondys through the Stormreach Portal
Tornus herald ability is 6d6 plus 3 wounds... not 9d6. rally point is a wound, not a d6.
@@mikewhitley6055 yeah this is a pretty huge difference. Guaranteed +3 wounds of healing or returned models is very strong
Yeah we/I misspoke… it clearly says it’s 6d6+3.

They might be priced appropriately though, could be cheaper than vanguard :3.
At a minimum they don't need a Vanguard hero-led detachment.

Like always, I am most excited to read all the lore! I do have an SCE host to build and paint... but I paint more than play, so no rush here :)
James is a real one
James removes Krondys, I have preordered him. Heheheeheheh xD
im getting a storm coven and pairing it up with a the knight questor and the questor soulsworn for the ultimate objective holders.

stupid question : for the portal.. if it's free.. is there a limit to the number of terrain we can put on the battlefield ?
GW: 'lets release some sweet models and give them shity warscrolls....lolz'
Let’s see points before we make the final verdict but I’m still disappointed by the Palladors
Wise approach. The enfeebled pallador gryph-chargers are particularly disappointing. I was hoping for some chonky heavy cavalry...
even without the points. Unless they are outrageously expensive, I don't think they are "shitty". I actually think they are the opposite.
