    Hello everyone! I'm so happy to 'see' you again! 😃 Many of you have asked about the stick blender that I am using and until now I didn't have a link for you! But I finally found it by chance and you can find the link in the video description. YAY! Anyway...be sure to read the video description for more info including the next release, etc..

      Hi Holly,
      I have a question maybe u can help me with. I get my lye at Natures Garden and I’ve been making my soap for C.P probably 4 or 5 years now. I use my recipe the same on for years. I got a new shipment from them and I master batch my lye and I go to blend the lye and soap and it would mix and look like thin soap then when I stopped it turned into oil and water and the mica was way down on the bottom. I mixed it for over an hr. So of course I tossed it. So I gabbed another one and it did the same thing so I got rid of all of that. I open a new bottle of lye same company and I poured or my husband poured the lye in and it never dissolved at all. He mixed for 40 minutes and it never dissolved in the water?! I put salt, sugar , sodium lactate in my lye solution like I always do. But it’s almost like I was sold something other then lye. I’ve always got my lye from them. But this is the second bottle out of that box. It’s still 2 days later sitting at the bottom separated from the water. And when I pick up the jar it moves around in the water like salt or sugar would if it didn’t dissolve. Do u happen to know why this would do that.

      Where do I find you at to order some bath bombs and soap for myself? I've watched so many videos and have made my own as I love any DIY projects to include the whole family, but want something special for myself, and you're the best I've seen and love the ingredients you use. Thanks

      @@NorseButterfly I have not. We're really picky abut coffee and have decided that we really only like Pike's from Starbucks. We can't seem to find any other 'strong' coffee (most are a joke, haha!) that doesn't taste like motor oil. LOL Have you tried any that you like?

What a lovely batch of soap, so pretty and creamy. I love your theme for this coming release. I do one similar in the summer. I hope you haven't had the cold weather that we've had in Tennessee! The horses and dogs hate it. We added a new horse to our gang at Christmas. A buckskin Quarter Horse mare named Kit, she's a real sweetheart. I hope your Doberman is doing better, heard he hit a rough patch. Hopefully he stays on the upswing. Glad to have time to watch videos again. Stay safe and healthy! Look forward to the next video!

    Other than on here, I've never seen "lye lint" before...what is the worst case scenario if it isn't removed?

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I soap with a reduced solution to accommodate for milks, sodium lactate, etc.. That scenario will cause lye lint as well as a cool room/rapid cool down. If it's fresh it blends in perfectly. If it is 'crunchy' feeling when stirring with a spoon, it can potentially not blend in well and cause a lye pocket. I have never had issues with it myself because it's either fresh or I strain it if not.

    Hi Holly, I was wondering why you choose to use fragrances instead of pure essential oils why i ask is your using some natural products , honestly theres alot of people that cant breathe in chemical fragrances as they qre toxic to people like myself i have a lung disease ,love your videos ❣

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, cold process soap is made using natural products in general. That's just the nature of handcrafted soap. I do use essential oils and fragrances in my products. I am not a strictly essential oil soaper though you will find many that are. That is their market. It's not my market. Fragrances offer scents that cannot be achieved using essential oils. We use fragrance and essential oils at the safe usage rates (usually much lower) determined by IFRA. Essential oils also have real side effects that can bother some people as well. They are more strictly regulated for that reason. There are many people that avoid essential oils. I have sensitivities to several essential oils myself. I often love using unscented soaps...no essential oils and no fragrance either. Anyway, I think you'll find that most soapmakers use a variety of essential oils and fragrances. Remember, venom, poison ivy, etc. are natural too but it doesn't mean it's safe.
