- Hello everyone! I'm Holly! In this video, I'm making the juiciest smelling citrus soap ever! The fun part is that it is made with essential oils!
Our next release date is still in limbo. I've been making so many fun new products! I have 3 curing racks full of soap! I have the bath bombs all made and now this coming week I will be working on sugar scrubs! Anyway, I have a lot of work to get accomplished still before I’m ready to release (a bit overwhelmingly so). I have been filming a lot and that does take away from the time of release preparation. If you can hang in there with me, it will all be worth it...but we're getting really close now!

(This is not the recipe used in the video but is one that I love. Our regular line of soaps do not contain palm oil. If you you want a palm free recipe, play around with adding more butters and/or olive oil.)
30% Lye Concentration
6% Super Fat
40% Olive Oil
20% Coconut Oil
10% Palm Oil (I look for Palm that is certified by Palm Done Right)
10% Rice Bran Oil
10% Castor Oil
10% Cocoa Butter
1tsp ppo* Sodium Lactate
*Per Pound of Oil
I soap at room temperature - which means the oils and the lye solution are in the 65-75 degree range.

Cute! I think one thing holding me back is working with lye, and where to get it. Supplies in general! Cute soap!
Thank you! I remember feeling that way too. Working with lye at first can be a bit nerve-wracking. It definitely needs to be respected. I buy mine at Belle Chemical because I have free shipping within Montana. But normally I would buy it at Essential Depot. You can get better deals on their Amazon too sometimes.
Lol I love that stick blender it’s huge. Every time I see it I think of space balls. The desert scene. They told the princess to take only what she needed to survive ( there space ship crashed) and Lonestar and the man dog ( they are supposed to be Hon solo and Chewy) there carrying her truck and Lonestar says “ enough what is in this thing “ then he opens it and pulls out a hair dryer almost the size of him! He said to the Princess “ what the hell is this! I told u take only what u need to survive!” N she said “ It’s my industrial strength hair dryer and I CANT LIVE WITHOUT IT!!!” Lol that pops in my head when ever I see this. I love it! Lol

It smells amazing! I am using a bar at my kitchen sink now and it's so much fun!
So lovely every video. I’m new to soap making as I’ve only been buying supplies and molds so far and have not started making any soap yet lol. But, I’m gaining experience thru u the “SOAP MASTER HOLLY”! Where do you buy the different box molds you have. I’m just so excited to start making soap.
A year later and this is still one of my favorites, Holly! I think I've watched it 3 times throughout this year, maybe 4, lol!
Sorry I haven't been commenting much on the videos! I am watching. It's just been a hard year!!! We lost our oldest son to an accidental drug overdose in January 3 days before my birthday. And I had severe damage to my soap and skin care studio in the tornados in November and December. So yeah, there's been all that. On top of that when our granddaughter was birn in June, it ended up that our daughter's uterus tore in seven sections which was an emergency c-section and about lost them both! It's just been more than my heart can take sometimes.
I hope this finds you doing well! That you know I'm there in the background and haven't quit watching! I hope you and the family have avoided the virus and business is good.

Try putting a damp towel underneath the slab cutter so that the wood doesn't slide across the table. I do that for my cutting boards in the kitchen and it works like a charm.

Amazing looking soap! Do citrus fragrances or essential oils stick in CP soap for a long time? I used orange, lemon, and bergamot in melt and pour soap, and it's mellowed out a lot.
Thank you! Citrus does tend to fade in CP soap. You really have to look for those great blends. This Juicy blend is one of the good ones.

I would love to see you guys invest in a multi wire loaf cutter, seeing you struggle with that old loaf cutter breaks my heart! You guys deserve it.
Thank you! We rarely actually struggle with it. I don't know what was wrong with it that day but it worked so much better after I put it back together. I know that the multi-cutters have similar issues but my biggest concern is how hard it would be to push a soap through so many wires at once.
Absolutely stunning, I love 🍋🍊 citrus fragrance soaps but the citrus seems to disappear in my soap when I use EO or FO after saponification. I love all those gorgeous bright happy colours.
Thank you Tanya! Yes, citrus can be very tricky. I have had many faded out soaps through the years. I find that they have to be blended. This is a really great blend that can be found at eocalc.com. Maybe it give it a try!

Ommg Holly would recommend this scent for foaming scrubs? If so would you say the usage amount would be the same as your Cherry soda recipe?
It is an amazing scent. I haven't experimented with essential oils in the scrubs. I would look at what the usage rate would be for the other categories when you use eocalc.com. Typically 1-1.5% ends up being fine but again, I have not double checked that so I don't know for sure. One concern is that citrus essential are photosynthesizers. Since the foaming sugar scrub does leave a layer of oil behind on the skin, I would be very concerned about using the juicy blend in that type of product.

What is the coconut milk for how do you get your soap not to get dark I made a batch and it has this brown tent to it can I add more titanium oxcide or do I switch colors to work with the color change
Hmm...you got a discoloration from coconut milk and not a coconut fragrance? I have never encountered that. However, if you used a lot of milk and the batch got hot, it might have discolored like a goat milk soap would.
At what temp do you soap at? It's really cold in my soap studio and my soaps are all excellerating so I'm having to scrap my plan on designs and move really quick to get it in the mold! Should I wait for my oils to get cooler since the room is so cold?
I soap at room temperature which can be 58-78. I wouldn't think room temperature would matter too much if you're soaping with warm oils. But if you think that a rapid cool down is the problem then you can try soaping cooler. My first thought though is that maybe your hard oils/butters are solidifying too much in the cold temperature maybe? Try increasing the liquid oil to hard oil ratio?

Such pretty soap. Do you know If we can make liquid soap or Shower gel out of the melt and pour soap? I love your video's and I love your story's. Well, I'm from Tennessee dontcha ya like me more now? LOL I'm not all here anymore LOL

I'm new to soap making , in your recipe to say percentage and not grams or ounces.. so how do i determine to go by ounces or grams??
I would recommend doing more research and doing some sample recipes on a lye calculator such as soapcalc.net. That will help you to understand it further as you input numbers and see the results.
HI! you soap is beautiful! I have the same cutter and it is very helpful to turn it the other way and have the lip hang on to your table for more stability. You probably already know this and maybe are cutting in that direction for the video- but thought I would mention it:)

@@moriversoap there is a piece of wood that is screwed in the front. if you unscrew it and turn it upside down and screw it back in it will make a lip that grabs the table so it doesn't go flying forward when you cut .. :) sometimes i take the whole TABLE with me- but it looks like you got that part covered. I love my cutter.. i did have to take the sticker ruler off bc it annoyed me that it was scratching my soaps.. but I woodburned the notches in that were important. Good luck..

It reminds me of that rainbow gum I had as a kid. It was like juicyfruit and had a zebra on the package I think. Clearly my brain is to old to remember. LOL I think you are ready for rainbow season already. ;-)

I know what gum you're talking about! it's called Fruit Stripe and I used to chew on that when I was younger. It was a shame that the flavor didn't last for long.

Yes, the metal of the stick blender on the bottom of the pot. I cut out pretty much all of it.

I think the issue you were having with cutting the soap was, that it might have been to heavy and it was not letting the slider balance properly
I think so too. The batches are very heavy. I've even seen bigger and more industrial cutters do the same thing unfortunately.
