    Hey! My name is Jason R., and I started this TH-cam channel in 2016, with the goal in mind to create high-quality, unique tech videos for TH-cam. The response and growth I saw over the first several years of uploading videos absolutely stunned me, and making videos that genuinely helped people made me incredibly happy. Where I am today, I've gathered an incredible, supportive audience that I create regular technology and lifestyle videos for. But one thing I always want to emphasize on my channel is growth: meaning I want to create better, more useful, and more unique videos, grow my audience, and eventually make a career out of this hobby. If you support me and this vision, then please subscribe and we can make this happen!

    As a beginning voice actor, currently using the mic in my built in corsair headset (still decent sounding in my opinion but gotta follow industry) I'm considering picking one of these up at one point, if not a Yeti. I thank you for making this video, and I will probably be referring to it in future. Can I use the same edits on the audio recorded from my headset or is this snowball specific? If you need a sample of my current mic sound, there is a video on my channel that should provide a decent sample, SkyGrid Episode 4, just look for the special message part, that's just me talking

    Most mics are going to start sounding pretty meh once you getting 6-10" away. I'd be curious to see how this mic sounds 4" away with a pop filter instead of 6"+ and turning the mic at an angle. I imagine you're losing quite a bit of audio quality from pointing the mic away. The most sensitive part of the mic is no longer pointing directly at the sound source which is detrimental. I'd recommend speaking directly into the center of the mic 4" away and buying a 10$ pop filter off amazon before you start doing all the editing. That being said, I did just buy one of these to use with my phone for recording demos I'm excited to see how it sounds. Good video!

  • @asmongoldsmouth9839
    @asmongoldsmouth9839 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I've had the Blue Ice Snowball for 5 years now and I've had no problems. It has a pop filter built-in under the metal filter (grill) and it works great. But I am soft on my "P" & "S" sounds. So I never have issues with hard sounds in recordings.
    Also, the BEST mics are 1/4" phono jack mics or 3.5mm phono jack mics. Then your sound processor (MPU) or sound card does all the audio processing and you get high quality audio. USB mics are digitilized immediately into the same packets of data that computer files are composed of. So that is something to consider as well.
    USB mics compile audio data via software rather than through the hardware as USB bypasses the MPU.

    • @DaisyAjay
      @DaisyAjay 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best microphones are XLR, but they're out of most people's price range because you gotta buy a studio sound card with phantom power. I have an AT2035 with a nice preamp and it's awesome.
      One of the reasons why XLR is so awesome is because the cable has noise cancelling built into it, this means the wire can't pickup any interference from your computer.

    Great Job! I was trying to find a budget microphone, and had settled on the snowball iCE, but from the mic tests, I was disappointed. I felt like It was too expensive, but this made the audio sound much better! I know this is a year late, but thank you. Without this video I probably would still be using the same trash microphone, as this convinced me to buy it! Honestly, Thank you so much for these tricks.

      For Tal reverb, you just download it and put it into audacity plug ins folder.

    I was trying to find the best mic for a beginner, because I'm new to streaming and making yt videos. While I was trying to find a good mic, I came across this (thinking it was a hate vid) and instead it completely made me want to buy it! THANK YOU! Plus for this great sounding audio the plugins are FREE. That's the best. If it wasn't for this video, I wouldn't have had any interest in this mic. It sounds great! With your audio, it feels like you should have 1 mil subs!
