I was reaslly surprised when you said book depository is expensive because in my country (i don't live in the uk) book depository is the cheapest option , we only have 1 bookstore that carry mangas that were published by american publisher and japanese manga which is kinokuniya but they sell it at a normal retail price meanwhile book depository is so cheap and they also provide free delivery (but it took atleast a month to arrive :'))but sometimes their prices do suddenly increase by A LOT but it will go back down eventually
I ordered pretty much all my manga from bookdepository but the prices have gone way up since January (considering the date it's probably due to Brexit?) Haven't ordered from then since....
ah yes i know it is a good option for other countries but for some reason for the us it is quite expensive, sometimes even just a normal viz volume is around $20, it's very expensive to ship stuff to and from the us in general though ,, i only buy spanish manga from them tbh i would never buy from them otherwise (we are very lucky here to have a lot of options within the country so i can't complain)

Monster is actually regarded as the best work of Naoki Urasawa. He won with both Monster and Pluto the Osamu-Tezuka-Culture-Price which is the highest prize you can get for any Manga as far as I know

for real haha i'm convinced amazon hates me,, and yes spanish is my first language :) the only other series i own is kids on the slope since it is so expensive to import them here but hopefully i can get some more series in the future
Interesting to hear your brief thoughts on Hanako-kun, maybe I’ll get to that one during spooky season. I think Monster is Urusawa’s best work for most people, but my favorite is Pluto because of the robot aspects lol

Omgosh, I didn't realize Nana was getting a re-print! I placed an order through Rightstuf in February for volumes 4-21 and I still haven't received anything (I knew it would take awhile), but your comments are giving me hope that I might see them soon! 👀 I'll have to check out My Summer of You, it sounds super cute. 😍 Awesome video, love hearing your comments!
thank you!! and yes i believe volumes 3-5 are being reprinted in january and from then on maybe batches of 3 like that every couple of months depending on how the sales do? hopefully they continue that schedule even if it takes a while i would really rather not pay scalper prices for the rest of the volumes

yes i'm so excited to finally get my hands on nana! and idk i think it is just expensive to ship to and from the us in general so the prices compensate for that even though the shipping is "free" but we have lots of options in the country to buy manga so i can't complain,, and YES haha the hopeless lesbian forum 10/10 would browse

Wow discovered something new even from my own country publications! 😱 I’m from Spain and immediately went like 👀 when you said that Rainbow package is from here. Never heard of that series so I’ll probably give it a try as you also like it 😋
yes i love rainbow so much but be warned it is very graphic with lots of trigger warnings, it's about children in a brutal prison but if you like psychological dramas lo recomiendo!
I'm also interested in My Summer of You, going to wait for the 2nd volume that'll come out in November to pick up the series. A few days ago I finally got the rest of Arakawa Under the Bridge volumes and also some more Durarara light novels and the 2nd Durarara SH novel, so I'll have a good chunk of reading in October :)

Ordering old manga is a losing gamble on eBay. Got them library ones with all the stickers, yellowing, labels, and stamps.. but I’ll just say it adds ✨character✨

hay muchas series que no están impresas en inglés sino en español,, creo que las editoriales españolas están más dispuestas a arriesgarse con series más oscuras o extrañas,, también la impresión española está por delante en volúmenes para muchas series como blue period y beastars, estoy tan celoso TT

what happend in volume 4 and 5 of given that people are disliking so much can someone explain?
It's just what happened in the movie from what I remember when I read it recently
^^ it covers the content in the movie if you are familiar with the story, i haven't heard others say they dislike the arc but for me it was just too much drama and i think the couple they focused on is quite toxic and should not have gotten together, i think they need more time to work on themselves but that's just me ... it was frustrating to say the least

legally there are subscription services like shonen jump app which is $2 a month and you can read most their catalog, and there are other websites like bookwalker and comixology where you can buy digital volumes :)

me da un poco de miedo que los mangas en inglés no tengan sobrecubierta, no sé por qué jaja al menos aquí en latinoamerica la mayoría de mangas tienen, sobre todo los de ivrea argentina (además el diseño se parece mucho a los de japón). saludos desde chile 🇨🇱🥰
sí jaja, sé que las sobrecubiertas son más como volúmenes japoneses,, me gusta cómo se ven, no estoy seguro de por qué los volúmenes en inglés son tan diferentes,, lo único que no me gusta es que las sobrecubiertas se dañan tan fácilmente ,, gracias por ver, saludos de eeuu :))
